  1. i bought parrott 3200 kit from eBay & had local i.c.e shop fit it ..cost £60 ..works through stereo, wasnt charged for any adaptors. as brendan states it must be spliced ( i guess) dont know how they did it, but it works great.

if your not confident in fitting it yourself, get a proffesional to do it...a lot of auto electricians told me it could not be fitted to a lexus because of amp but specialist i.c.e shop will fit no problem( guess it depends on how qualified the person is)

  2. Thanks guys ...rang tdi but busy till early next wk,

Managed to get it into local garage at last min & they have sorted it . pick it up in the morning as they have orderd new caliper bolt.

didnt fancy trying to extract it myself as i have never done it before & didnt want to mess it up & end up forking out for new caliper.

thanks again for your advice... much appreciated

    john

  3. yes it is possible, you need to get an "easy out" set, you can do it yourself if u feel confident enough and u will need a drill.

i reccomend using the "snap on " brand/style of easy outs as they are the best i have come across. LIKE THIS

but if you are using THIS TYPE

be carefull as they are easy to snap then you are in trouble!!!!

but yes a local garage should easily be able to remove the bolt.

just to confirm its the bolt that hold the caliper to the frame 14mm head i remember or the big 17mm bolts that hold the carrier to the hub??

thanks fluff...looks a bit complicated & i dont want to mess up any chance i have getting it extracted, will let garage try...will have to wait till next wk as they are busy & im on nights....looks like i will have to borrow wifes car.

yes it was 14mm bolt that connects caliper to frame.

    thanks again m8

  4. after recent service, advised by lexus that f/o/s brake caliper was tight.

today decided to sort problem, but i have snapped lower caliper bolt...forgot that that to loosen bolt from inner side you had to loosen nut in clockwise direction as you look at it

the problem i have got now is that the screw thread is still in housing....i need to know if there is any way local garage can remove thread & replace bolt or am i looking at a complete new caliper.

managed to free piston though

    appreciate any advice guys

  8. I just bought a set from this Ebay seller HIDS i got the 4.3k bulbs and they are a big improvement on the standard bulbs. These kits wouldn't be much good for the high beams they take a couple of seconds to get up to full brightness

ekky..ive been looking at hid kit from same seller, can you post picture when you get them fitted. Which set did you get? 4.3 or 6k...cheers ;)

  9. I was read a while ago that someone snapped their key to their IS (1st Gen) and they had to buy a replacement key. I have nearly snapped my key before, when I kneeled down to pick up a heavy box and my key was in my front pocket. I have the 3 button key.

My question is: Is it possible to buy/build a 'flip key' for an IS200 or not? By flip key, I mean where you can fold in the key/blade into the transponder, I believe VW/Audi use flip keys on their cars.

If it is possible can anyone suggest sources, prices etc.

    Thanks

What colour did you go for.

  11. I was just wondering, you know that orange light that goes on when your fuel's running out, does anyone know how many more Ks can it go? till it completely runs out? I think I've done at least 10-15Ks after orange light goes on.

    Dont know mate.

Only advice is to refuel A.S.A.P or any C..p in tank will end up in fuel Lines.

  12. Thanks Guys for your response, much appreciated

Shahz; Will post pics when i work out how too,not a tecno whiz like you guys.

Chips229: Previous car was a p reg vectra 2.0ltr diesel.

What has impressed me so far....everything,style,comfort,toys,safety aspects, ride & that sweet purrrr the engine makes ,most of all the sheer pleasure it gives me....like Gandalf i too am only to willing to go shopping now.

Bernard tam hk: Already started on mods, only subtle ones though,Aluminium valve caps & sleeves& tax disc holder....maybe sat nav next, will have to put in a few more o/t shifts in me thinks.

Car has already had visit to the dent man yesterday...paintless dent removal, did a fantastic job...A1 one again only cost £70 fair price i thought.

Thanks again guys ...keep smiling ,John
