  1. A couple of weeks ago I had a warning light flash up telling me that there was a problem with the self leveling headlights on my 2005 RX300. This went off after about a day but whilst out driving last night I noticed that the headlamps are now leveling themselves far too low, making diving in the dark difficult. When I turn the ignition of the car on I see the headlights move & correct themselves so clearly the motors in them are fine. On speaking to my local dealer, they've said that they would expect that the problem is with a sensor on the back axle & whilst changing it is an easy job the sensor itself is about £200. They did however say that it should be possible to disconnect the sensor & adjust the headlights manually but they've never done this & don't know whether this will give me a permanent warning light on the dashboard. Has anyone any idea how difficult the sensor disconnection & manual adjustment would be as I'd really prefer to avoid having to shell out for Lexus to replace the part as I'm thinking of changing the car in the near future. Or do you guys have another idea how I could solve my problem? Regards Steve
  2. Interesting that the fuel economy is supposed to be better than the RX300 & it looks exactly the same to me. By outside lane speeds are we talking 70 or 90 (obviously driving on an autobahn) as my RX300 dips to around 21 for the latter albeit on regular unleaded rather than the expensive stuff. Steve
  3. Well I learned something new about the car today! All Lexi have an 'open all windows' function where if you press the unlock button on the keyfob twice & keep it held in, the windows all open remotely. Similarly pressing lock twice & keeping the button in closes them. 3 cars over 5 years & I've only just found it out! It does beg the question why my dealer didn't tell me about this in August last year. Steve
  4. I'm thinking about ordering a new disc from there also but I've been given conflicting info from my dealer - My current disc is a 86271-60v542A (86271-64012) which the dealer has quoted £550+vat to replace with the same part (the 2004/5 disk??). The dealer also quoted £147 for a PZ445-L03EU-06 but didn't know the difference between the two. lexus-mapupdates.eu quoted me as needing the (different) PZ485-L03EU-06 but I'm a tad nervous about ordering just in case things go wrong somehow. It would be interesting to know the full numbers on the front of anyone's 2006/7 disk for a 2005 model car Thanks Steve
  5. In August last year my 2005 RX300 was parked up outside & when I looked out about an hour after I'd left it I noticed that all 4 windows were open despite me being sure that I left them closed. As you can imagine this gave me a little cause for concern so I took the car straight into my local dealer for them to have a look. The dealer could find no problems & I left thinking (as no doubt they did) that maybe I'd opened them in some way as I was locking the car. Worryingly it's happened again tonight as when the car was parked outside my mother's house & I'm 100% sure that it's nothing that I did (& the driver's 'lock' for the other windows was still activated when I got in). Given that it's -2 outside & the dealer won't open again until tomorrow morning, I've closed the windows (the dealer wanted them left if it happened again) & will take it in tomorrow. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before or have any idea as to how / why it may occur (the dealer had never heard of it last year)? As you can imagine I'm now extremely nervous about leaving it anywhere other than in my garage at home & I need to go into London on business on Thursday in it! Thanks Steve
  6. Is that not the 86271 part though Colin with 08927 & 08664 being the other generations? When checking the above site with either the details from my disk or the ones that Keywest has on the one he bought, I get the same part number (PZ485-L03EU-06) - I just want to double check the actual disk details before buying on eBay or elsewhere. I really don't want to pay my dealer an extra £150 for them getting the right DVD out of their store cupboard & leaving my car turned on for 5 minutes whilst the firmware on the nav unit updates.
  7. Other than using the above site, can anyone who has the 2006/7 version of the DVD confirm it's name & exact size. I'm led to believe that it should be 86271-60V661A for those of us updating from a previous 86271 version. Just want to make sure that I get the right one!
