The remote locking on my IS200 has suddenly stopped working. 'Coincidentally' the car has been serviced today so I presume something has happened at Lexus.... The car didn't want to lock itself early evening and only finally worked after repeated attempts at pressing the key. At the time I presumed the key battery was on its way out. Then found I couldn't unlock the car no matter how many times I tried. I have both spares and neither of them lock the car either, despite the red light flashing on them. I resorted to opening the driver's door and setting off the alarm in order to get into the car. Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Just taxed my IS200 Sport 2 weeks ago and I can confirm that the car is in band F and costs £190. Dylight robbery!!

Looking to put my IS200 Sport in for a 20K service. Called Lexus Liverpool who quoted me the silly price of £351 inc VAT. A quick call to Lexus Chester cut the cost down to £280 inc VAT. Prices seem rather on the steep side - do these look like typical prices to anyone? Is it worth getting the car serviced by an independent garage? Does anyone do this regularly and does anyone have any recommendations on who to use?

Glad it's sorted! I presume the 2 second thingy is an intentional feature in case you accidentally knock the button while driving and the boot opens mid journey...

Thanks very much for the info. PMed Fargo and he does indeed have a custom connector which will do the job. I am now also looking at changing the speakers as well after what I've read here and elsewhere. Is this an easy job and any recommendations on a set of good speakers that will do this job? I'm learning as I go along here!

Probably a stupid question but are you just pressing the boot button or are you holiding it? I've just got an IS200 myself and had problems with the boot for a few days until I realised you have to hold the boot release button for about 2 secs otherwise it doesn't work. But I presume not everyone is as stupid as me. :) Or course it could just be that one key is knackered... also worth trying your spare if you have one.

I purchased an IS200 just over 2 weeks ago. It's my first Lexus and is a great car, but when I change from 1st to 2nd gear the gearbox makes a terrible clunking sound. It also does it slightly when going from 2nd to 3rd although it is nowhere near as noticable. At first I thought it was me getting used to the clutch but it doesn't happen in any other gear. It doesn't happen when changing down either - only up???!!!??? Someone has told me that this is a common problem with the IS200 and that people just put up with it, but I can't believe that a 20 grand plus motor should have problems like this. Does anyone have any experience of this gearbox clunk in their own IS and is it something I should be worrying about? At the moment I am seriously considering asking the dealer for my money back but I wanted to get people's opinions on here first. The car is less than 3 years old but I bought it from a non-Lexus dealer. If there are problems then does anyone know where I stand with the warranty? Will Lexus still honour the 3 year warranty if the vehicle has changed hands in this way?

Hi everyone Recently bought an IS200 Sport and am trying to change the Lexus radio for my Sony one which I've removed from my old car. I already have a facia plate into which I've slotted my new radio ready for fitting. I have managed to remove the Lexus radio with the very useful instructions on the forums. Now I've realised that it seems I need a wiring adapter to convert the Lexus wiring harness in order to fit my radio (standard DIN adapter). Tried ringing around a couple of places e.g. Halfords but drew a blank. Does anyone know whether is a wiring adapter available and where I can get one from (preferably in the UK)?

Anyone know where I can get hold of a dashboard blanking plate in order to fit an aftermarket radio to the IS200? Also, will an adapter be required and if so any ideas where to get one?
