Front wheeldrive is a clever marketing ploy by the major car manufactures, claiming better handling, lower fuel consumption, better weight distribution & more interior leg room, the truth of the matter being it is cheaper & quicker to manufacture & assemble fwd cars, therefore increasing the profit margin on every vehicle. Low volume high quality executive/luxury cars are rwd 99% of the time allowing greater power to be used without the effects of "Torque steer " etc coming into play.

Hi Guys Bought my is200 from Swindon Lexus July this year 3 year old 28,000 miles, sat nav the works, luved it. 2 weeks later discovered car was fitted with the wrong tyres, these varied in size, brand & speed rating across the corners and the spare. Full RAC inspection (huh) :duh: . No problem Swindon collected my car from my home in Staffs left me a coutesy car & returned the car to me on Monday afternoon to Bristol where im working. Great 5 new tyres all correct rating etc. September, lots of noise coming from the front end, suspect wheel bearing, booked into Bristol Lexus. Car checked out, knackered offside front wheel bearing and also.....LOOSE front ball joint, (Full RAC inspection, Lexus approved Vehicle) Driving home Thursday last week steering wheel is not straight, rings Bristol to request adjustment & asks if they did a geometry check after completing the repair, No came the reply not required,not covered under warranty £112 pleas. F--K off was my response, rang Swindon, yes geometry check should be part of repair but nothing they can do. Load of boll--ks. Rang Customer services, any response, you guessed it nothing. Totally p----d off with Lexus & the "Lexus experience" 7 years waiting and this is what they call customer service, any ideas I need help.

Hi guys As promised an update, Techie@ Lexus Bristol diagnosed the fault as worn o/s front wheel bearing, replaced front hub,bearing and tightened balljoint? now awaiting delivery to see If its cured, *** I miss my Lexus, had to use a Merc taxi last nite , crap..... :tsktsk: ← Finally car delivered, no bill :D Success, cured, ace, back 2 normal got to drive, now where my LOC badges?

Ive done the usual checks, no sign of damage or wear & the cars only done 30,000 miles :duh: not very impressed, will let u know the outcome ← The correct pressure for the Potenza 040 -215/45/ZR17 according to my 04 model is 35 psi si gle driver. I found the Potenza 040s a bit noisy but have just changed all 4 to potenza 050 s with great results .Tyre is much quiter better high and low speed responce . its a totally different ballgame from the 040s PS Check for cracks in the grooves if you have 040s as Bridgestone gave me a 50% refund with 22,000 on the clock. Searching the membership listing showed it as myself and yet you advise the use of the same user name & password as when you first register..................... Hi guys New 2 the Lexus IS200 sport experience hoping you can help? 2002 Lexus IS 200 Sport, brand new tyres when bought Bridgestone Potenza 17" Dia 215/45 ZR, 4000 miles later the noise from the front end sounds like the wheel bearings are b------ks, 50mph plus and rumble bloody rumble, is this normal or just me , I keep wishing for deafness. Car booked into the dealer 4/10/05 hoping for a heads up before the event. PS Where can I get a set of blue neon scuff plates, lexus used to sell as an accessory but appear to have dropped the part .
