  1. 2 or 3 nuts behind the trim (inside the boot) and they just pull out :winky: ← Thanks.
  2. Condensation has formed in the trunk light cluster ( fog& reverse light's)on my mk1 GS300. Can anyone tell me how to remove the cluster so I can dry it out?
  3. My car 103k on the clock and has a full Lexus service history up to now, so I would of thought it has had the tranny fluid changed at least twice. Maybe my mechanic is being over cautious? ← It's not really a filter, just a mesh screen. I would say it's worth doing a drain and again at the next service as a drain only changes about 1/3 of the total fluid in the transmission. Also worth dropping the pan and cleaning/changing the filter as the vehicle has done 100k. ← I'm putting it into Lexus Cardiff next week for fluid change. Thanks for the input guy's.
  4. My car 103k on the clock and has a full Lexus service history up to now, so I would of thought it has had the tranny fluid changed at least twice. Maybe my mechanic is being over cautious?
  5. Ok RR, If you definetely want to sell them please let me know, and i'll take em off your hands. BTW i'm in Cardiff.
  6. Do you want to sell one of your spares? My spare 18x 8 is slightly buckled and i'd like to replace it.
  7. I just had my car B serviced, but my mechanic advized against changing the transmission fluid as he said draining often clogged the filter. What do you think guys is it safer to leave it alone? or would you recommend changing it?
  8. Hi everyone, I got my 18's back today, and am I pleased :) *** I hated them grey. :yack: I've managed to put a pic on my profile, but I can't change my Avatar for some reason :tsktsk: It lets me remove the old one, but every time I try to upload the new one it just keeps going back to the old grey wheels one?? Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?
  9. As a new owner I was checking to see what most owner's conisider to be normal consumption. My Prelude wasn't exactly economical fuel wise, but the GS300 is a greedy beast indeed. I've owned a couple of Jags in the past too, and they had an unquenchable thirst for gas.
  10. I spoke to the last Lexus dealer to do a B service, and he said they probably didn't replace the filter because the previous owner probably didn't want to pay for the replacement of the fuel line. Unfortunately he couldn't bring up the service history because the car was previously on a private plate, and I don't have those detail's yet. Seems to me that corroded fuel lines maybe a common problem on older Lexus cars. which is potentially a very dangerous fault!! I can't believe Lexus didn't offer to rectify this FOC to the previous owner. I've owned a lot of cars in my time and i've never had a problem like this before on any of them. I'm questioning the Lexus reputation for excellence at the moment. I'm going to speak to my local Lexus dealer tomorrow to see what they advize. Maybe i'll be switching back to Honda soon.
  11. Just had a major B service done by my mechanic today, but when it came to changing the fuel filter he found the pipework was too corroded to risk untightening the union. He is reluctant to cut the pipework back and replace with a rubber pipe as this part of the system is pressurised, and has asked me to sound it out with you guys. Has anyone had this problem? How did you solve it? Paul.
  12. I'm getting my HCB-30 handsfree kit fitted to my GS300 sport mk1 on Wednesday by an auto spark in Dumballs Road Cardiff. I'll let you know how it goes, but he did say to me that some Lexus stereo's aren't very handsfree friendly!
  13. Yeah I know the guys at Hyeline. They've been helpful to me once with my old Prelude, but I have heard some horror stories too. So who knows?
  14. Oh the Prelude was a great car, and gave me a great deal of fun. It was very quick, and with 4 wheel steering the handling is pin sharp. To be honest the GS300 Sport feels like driving a boat in comparison, but lets face it's an entirely different animal. The Prelude 5sp manual is about a second and a half quicker to 60 too. 2.2 V tec is a great engine!! If you don't mind the very limited space in the rear of the Prelude, then I would highly recommend it. I had 2 years of trouble free motoring, and loads of compliments on how cool the car looked.
  15. Hi everyone, As a new member i'd just want to say hi. Part X'd my beloved 97 Prelude 2.2VTi for a wide rear wheel GS300 Sport a few weeks ago, and it has to be said that so far I love the GS. Apart from it's ravenous thirst for petrol! I seem to be averaging about 20mpg around town, and about 27mpg on the motorway. Is this normal? Does anyone know of an independant Toyota/Lexus specialist near or in Sth Wales?
