  1. I am soon to be fitting parking sensors but wish to switch off the reverse buzzer already fitted. Does anyone know if it is possible or not ???
  2. Thinking of fitting reversing sensors but dont fancy drilling or spoiling the asthetics of the bumper. Found an electomagnetic system that fits behind the bumper so nothing is seen and no drilling needed, check out www.parkingsensors.co.uk/taurus.asp , Just a couple of questions though. 1/ How do I remove the rear bumper 2/ Is it possible to disconnect the reverse buzzer Any feedback or experience of this system welcome.
  3. Seems OK when I bounce front end and it hasnt been steam cleaned. Will take back to Lexus as I still have 6 months warranty left. Will advise on outcome..
  4. I have a 53 plate with 16k miles, over the last few weeks I have noticed that when I go over speed ramps I get a knock when going up and a creak when going down. Sounds all OK when turning and braking any ideas...
  5. Only asked to make sure it is speed related and not engine rev related. Like IanB said check that the tyres are correctly seated on the rims with no bulges and that there is no "run out" on the rims as well as balancing. Had wheels ballanced and it was a rear wheel problem, all running perfect now. Thanks for your help
  6. OK, will check ballancing. To answer MacRS200 it is the same in 5th as well as 6th
  7. No I havent, as I had wheels replaced (corroding) by Lexus when I bought car 2 months ago, I presumed they would have done this. It doesnt pull to one side and no vibration through steering wheel. Do you think they would do these checks under warranty ??
  8. When motorway cruising in 6th gear I usually get a fair bit of vibration throughout the car, not especially through the pedals or gearstick but the whole car in general. Is this the norm like my juddery 1st to 2nd gear change (Lexus have checked and say is OK), or could it be something moe sinister !!!
  9. I have had my 53 plate IS for a couple of months and always used norm unleaded but are the claims of BP Ultimate ect valid. Ie, do you get more mpg and is it better for the engine. I have also read that if you change to higher octane fuels you need to reset the ECU, as I do not fancy messing with the electronics will I gain anything just by pouring the stuff in. Just another question, when driving the other day I was hit with 2 beeps from somewhere, no warning lights came on and has not done it since. Anything to worry about or not.
  10. Bought a 53 plate IS200 2 weeks ago and am experiencing a poor 1st to 2nd gear change. I am also dissapointed with the acceleration performance, having just spent my lifes savings I was expecting it be a bit faster than my old 1.4 Rover 25 but I was wrong. Having read some of the other comments about the gear change issues it seems I am not alone, but as it is still under warranty am I as well to go back to Lexus or will they just say it is the norm. Any advise most welcome.
