  1. You can trawl through the forum and there is a lot of info out there if you search for it.

There wern't really any facelifts as such for the IS.

    1999-late 2000 - S,SE,Sport - CD-CHANGER at bottom only drivers seat electric (if fitted).

late 2000 - revised CD-Changer now with CD at the top, both front seats electric (if fitted).

late 2001 - CD Sat Nav now DVD and controls for Nav more integrated in console.

around 2002 - slight changes made to interior trim and poss rear light integrated into rear spoiler on the sport.

2002/3 ish 50 bright yellow IS200s came in (think they were sports)

2004 the LE - HID lamps, full leather and another colour but basically SE spec.

later models came with Nav standard

All this is off top of my head and dates are prob a lil general. but im sure more of the guys (and girls) will add.

  2. I might think about putting the car in 1 month early.

Reason being that if they find any problems then it will be under the 3yr warranty, and the MOT wont be effected as they can be made out to be valid from the due date rather than the issue date.

Check your wheels for corrosion and get any changed (last chance)

    Just a suggestion

  3. My IS200 is Dec 2000, so is exempt from the £25 per day charge due to there not being details for vehicles pre march 2001 (yeah go figure!)...still would pay the £8.

The rule for the new charge also says any vehicle reg before Mar 01 with an engine below 3000cc.

Its the same for Tax - Pre mar01 IS200s are a little cheaper as they come under the Above/below 1500cc rule.

    Crazy!

  4. Try Lexus Owners Club > General Lexus Forums > Lexus General Maintenance

its not grumpy, just polite not to use uppercase all the time.

As for an answer to your question, ask your local stealer for a price and compare.

I have found with my dealer i get a loan car whilst in for a service and also they now give me a years free RAC cover, that on its own is around £100. Oh and they give it a decent clean inside and out too.

  5. Were these back lights an option or were they standard after 2001? I ask because I went to see a 2002 52 plate IS200 sport in balck and it had the clear white lights not the shaded ones (as in the pic from Parthiban).

Does this mean that the car could have possibly been in an accident, visably the car looks stright.

After 2001 they fitted the smoked version to all but silver cars (which remained the clearer style)

Some owners changed to the smoked versions themselves.

All you need do is buy and 10 mins each to fit.

So to answer your question......there is no reason to think the car has been in an accident.

If you are worried you should get the car fully checked by RAC/AA and they will be able to tell you if the car has been resprayed/repaired.

There were no actual "Facelifts" of the IS - a facelift is a bit more than a few minor modifications.

The Only major differing IS200 was the Limited Edition - Had HID Lamps and full leather interior.

A search through the forums will give more info.
