  1. its a 2000 GS300 Sport. are there any carbon style intakes like the Gruppe M ones available for the Lexus ?
  2. Has anyone remapped the 3 litre VVTI engine, if so what gains have been made from doing it and is it worthwhile doing on this engine ? Thanks Jon
  3. do you recon they will do a discount for buying 2 :D will keep my eye out on ebay then, dont suppose anyone else sells them ?
  4. there are a number of cars i would rather spend 65k on, and it wouldn't be a lexus.
  5. I have just realised after looking at some pics in the gallery that I am missing the front lower spoiler/spitter of the front bumper from my 300 Sport Mk 2. Can these be bought from the dealers and how much are they, or does anyone know where there is one for sale. Cheers Jon
  6. what are the part numbers of the speakers you went for, if it works well might take a look at this over the weekend. thanks jon I have no idea sorry - like I say MB Quart in the front and Kickers in the back. I'd suggest going to a decent ICe shop and seeing what you can get. You can deffo fit 6inch speakers in the doors - see what they suggest ok cheers, will look tomorrow. thanks again

  8. there's one on ebay at the moment, not sure it will fit a GS, its a Mark Levinson one. i just feel the sub could do with a bit more bass from it, you can not really tell its on from the front if you get my drift. Sure mate - each to their own. I spent the money on upgrading the other speakres, which made a HUGE difference. The stock speakers are tiny and not very good at all. You can fit 6 inch speakers in the doors and a decent active crossover with decent tweeters helps too - the stock crossover is a simple capacitor what did you go for when you upgraded Rodders ? MB Quart component in the front (inc crossovers and tweeters) and Kicker 2-way in the back. You can make 6inch speakers fit front and back - have to make an MDF mount but it's quite easy. take it made a big difference then ?

  11. Alpine used to make free to air subs, not sure if they still do, is the GS mk 2 a 10" sub, would changing the sub alone give much benefit over the standard one ?
  12. Hi mate, I picked my GS300 Sport up on friday so I'm a new owner, I have gone from a e46 325 Sport to a Lexus, totally different cars though. I am getting about 26 mpg from mine and had it upto 32 on the m/way, not as bas as I thought it would be to be honest. It goes quicker than I thought it would as well which is a bonus. Mine is silver pearl colour unsure of the correct name for it with black leather and sat nav. They are lovely cars to drive, very smooth and seem really well put together as good as my 3 series if not better and come with a great spec also. I thought the stereo would be better in it given the number of speakers, sub and a amp they come with, this is a bit of let down. One of the reasons I went for one is that they aren't a Audi, BM or a Merc that you see every tom, ***** and harry driving. You dont see many GS's on the roads imo. Good luck with finding one, make sure you pick a nice colour as well.
  13. I have just bought a 2000 GS300 Sport, should the Lexus door kick or cill plates light up when you open the doors ? If not is it an easy job to do, any How To's to link to. Cheers
  14. Get my 2000 GS 300 Sport tomorrow, can anyone recommend a good independant gagarage to take it too for servicing in the North West, I live near Chester and work in Warrington so anywhere round that neck of the woods is fine. My nearest dealer is Lexus Chester. Cheers
  15. pick it up on saturday, cant wait, will join the gold then, is there a list of independant garages who specialise in Lexus or will any Toyota garage be able to maintain it ? nearest main dealer to me is Lexus Chester, dont know if there good or bad though, probably expensive i imagine. do you know if you can remap the 300's at all ?
  16. went for a drive of the GS today, nice nic car, talk about fully loaded, makes the spec of my BM look like a Lada. shame the sports dont have sports seats but thats my only real gripe, very smooth drive as well. didn't really try the stereo, is it a good sounding system in the GS and who makes it, do they have a integrated amp and sub also. what benefits will i get if i join the lexus gold membership. finally who are competitive at insuring the GS's. cheers
  17. the one im looking at looks the same as in your avatar, pearl silver colour, going for a drive of it tomorrow so fingers crossed. :) i have a 325 sport at the mo and i know what you mean about the BM sports models. one of the reasons i fancy a GS Sport is that you hardly see many of them, well where i live anyway.
  18. Thanks Maneesh for the advice, the car I'm looking at has Sat Nav as well which is a bonus, I can get it for just under £8k also. What's the spec difference between SE & Sport, I know the Sports have bigger alloys, boot spoiler, slightly lower suspension but wat else, do they have Sports seats etc. Thanks
  19. Hello to you all, this is my first post as I have only just registered on the forum. I am looking at buying a 2000 V plate GS 300 Sport, I currently own a 325 BMW which is a very good car but fancy a change. The car I am looking at has done 97k with FLSH and 1 owner from new. Can someone answer te following questions for me please. What can I expect mpg wise on the motorway and around town, my 325 returns 32 on the m/way. What does it take to fill the tank and how many miles to a full tank. As the car I am looking at is nearing 100k, is this the time for the cambelt change or should of it been done & if I need to pay for this how much will it set me back. What are the interim servicing costs at the dealers like. Do the Sport models come with xenons, heated seats and elec memory seats. Thanks in advance :zee:
