I had the same problem. Check the hoses that go from the radiator to the evaporator and tighten the jubilee clips. Should solve your problem unless the rad is leaking. I have mine serviced every 10k from Lexus BHAM which I believe is Sytner. They don't have a problem servicing it. Due for 130k service after 4k miles.

Thanks guys
Mike does capping the rear Aircon pipes still give ice old Aircon to all the interior as I too don't use the rear fridge. How much did it cost you.

I had my cambelt etc (not the water pump as Lexus BHAM said it was fine) for £600 including the 100k service. I have a local mechanic who had quoted me £400 for everything including service but couldn't book me in for two weeks hence Lexus did it as I was going on holiday.
Make sure the people who do the work know what they are doing.

Hi Guys
Last year I topped up the Aircon system in my LS430 as it was not blowing cold air. The Aircon place put in some leak detector aswell.
About 3 days or so later it stopped blowing cold air so it went back to the Aircon shop who checked for the leak free of charge as I had payed extra to have the leak detector put. A few hours later he came back with no luck and said he can't find it.
So on my 120k service I got Lexus to do it. Lucky for me we agreed a price before hand as they thought it would be the front pipes o rings or something. Well you guessed it about 3 hours later (£90 plus Vat per hour I think) they found it was coming from the rear air con pipes behind the petrol tank. They wanted £900 plus VAT for the job.
I told them that the car had the rear Aircon pipes done from Lexus Chester a month before I purchased it and its only been 18 months.
Well any way I thought I get my Local Mechanic to put the O rings in it as the Labour is cheap and I don't think the pipes are leaking as they still look very good. I called Lexus Bham and they told me the car has no O rings in the back. The rear pipes attach to another pipe which is £70 plus vat approx which connects to the rear heating system. I think it could be this pipe that perished.
Any of you guys had this issue with the Aircon as this is the only thing wrong with the car.

These guys put the price at £999 as its cheaper to advertise and the real price is at the end of the add. Also a lot of the time it's the so called small time car dealers working from home.

Pete u should say hi when u see me. I see a LS430 occasionally in Oakham. Is that u. Next time I will say hi if I see u.

Yes Malc cambelt changed at 100k by Lexus Bham. £2500 is quite low for a LS430.
Pete, I would not leave this forum but may have to sell the car when the misses comes back from abroad. I will fight her to the end lol. Lets see what happens in the next ten days. Plate will come off if I lose the battle.

Got the LS430 back today from Lexus Bham. They honoured the 15% gold membership so that was great.
-
Well Birmingham quoted me £345 inclusive vat, parts and labour.
What do they do for the 120k service?

Hi Guys
called Lexus Birmingham today to book my LS430 for its 120k service. Apparently there's a new service manager and it looks like they no longer give the 15% discount on parts and labour to gold members.
Can some one verify this.

I totally agree that there are good and bad LPG installers. I have run LPG cars for about 8 years and have had hassle free motoring.
My LS430 is my pride and joy and I had it converted by Bham Autogas last November. My friend had recommended him and I met the guy with my friend. He told me he had done loads of Lexuses and he had converted his OWN LS430.
A week later mine was booked in and done same day. I have had NO issues in the 11 months and 17000 or so miles.
Again go to people who have done your Model of car and you should have no issues..
I love the way my LS drives and I Love the way I only spend a few quid to enjoy her.

Yes it is Bham Autogas in star city of J6 on the M6. Guys name is Nuzzar and he has all the qualifications etc. Number is 0121 326 7171. You are most welcome to have a look at my conversion if you are around the West Midlands. I also have a LS430.

The guy who did mine did it in a day with no problems since. He has an LS430 himself. He is very good and knowledgeable. If there is a problem then he sorts it out ASAP.
With regards to the Aircon I had the same issue. Worked well ice cold. Did not use it over winter and in April this year it was blowing normal. Took it to an Aircon company who checked for leaks, there were none so roped it up and it's ice cold since. Lexus wanted £90 to look at it. It cost me £40 for refill.
Hope that helps.

Have you thought about getting it LPG converted??
I did mine last year at 90k miles and 11 months later at 107k i am still smiling. I get 275miles on 60 litres (£39.12) of gas.
Worth it if you do a lot of miles.

Hi Mike
The VSC light is not a problem to take off. mine came on and he connected 2 wires which took it off. All I can suggest is that you give Nuzzar a call as I am sure he can sort it out for you. The rest is upto you. He updated my software on my car and its still running A1 after 16000 miles.

Hi Mike
I had my 12000 mile LPG service today from Birmingham Autogas. It cost £35 and they stamped the LPG service book. They upgraded the software so when engine is warm and I start it, it will start with gas so I dont have to wait for 30 secs.
I spoke to them about your problem and he said without looking at the car with his diagnostics it would be difficult to say but he said re look at the fuel trims (or something like that) to start with. Maybe that will help.

Yes Steve I am a Gold member. I have had the keyring card come through ages ago. I dont know why its not against my name but I have to present the card to Bham to get the discount anyway.
Pete Madeleine definately said you spoke to the manager. Maybe it is because you are an existing customer. I to was a customer of both Wolverhampton and Birmingham Lexus when I had my IS200 way back say 10 years. I always thought Bham were better.
The early IS200 had a cd and SAT NAV issue which lexus decided to give an extra few years warranty on (I found this out later when it was too late). I had taken the car to Wolverhampton lexus for the 60k, 70k and 80k services and told them about the issue on each service only to be told it was fine. In the end I stripped the SAT NAV myself and fixed it.
So looks like its BHAM Lexus for me for my LS430, GS430 Sport and my brothers GS300 SE and IS200 SE.

Hi Pete
I did mention you and Madeleine did check the records. The prices I was quoted was after the 20% discount but she would not match your price. She told me that you spoke with the service manager to get that deal.
I have had the number plate since 1999 on my IS200 and now its on the LS. Should get together someday when you are free. I never thought I would have members living so close by.
I called Lexus Bham and they quoted £716.16p for a full 100k service including timing belt and all parts and VAT. They then gave me a further 15% for being a GOLD MEMBER of this club. So total price is £608.74 for the service which is only £90 odd more than Pete paid at Lexus Wolverhampton in December 2010.
Well done Lexus Bham and well don Liyanne (sorry if I spelt it wrong).

Most I ever got is 302 miles, midlands to London, heavy traffic in London then back to Midlands. Normally I get approx 270-280 miles on a full tank of LPG same journey. My tank by the way will not take more than 60 litres of LPG.
