  1. Hi Guys

    Went to Lexus Wolverhampton today to get a quote on the 100,000 mile service on my LS430. I currently have 97,687 miles on it.

    I got the following quotes for the service £490.00 for the service, £349 for the timing belt service and an extra £100.98 if I wanted the waterpump done aswell.

    I told them I was a Gold member and the lady refused to acknowledge our club. I am sure when I joined that I was to get 15% of labour and parts but no joy with Lexus Wolverhampton. She did say she would speak to the service manager if I came back in the afternoon. Lets see what happens.

    Any ideas guys if I am right or wrong on the discount side. i have a full lexus stamped history and I want it to stay like that.

    Regards

  2. Dear All

    I had my car converted late last year and since then have done 4000 plus miles. At the start it cost about £33 to fill but now costs £38-£39 to fill.

    Prices were about 52p but now I pay 66p. I believe this is a temporary blip and in march prices should drop.

    I still have my engine cover and I cant see the difference between petrol and LPG. I save a lot of money and I think it is a wise thing to get it converted.

    I got mine done from Bham autogas and get 250miles on atank of LPG.

  3. I currently have a LS430 and I love it. I have also driven the GS430 Sport and that to was excellent. I only went for the LS430 for the gadgets.

    I know some one who has a GS430 Sport with SAT NAV, silver with 70k on the clock and is looking to sell it. I think he wanted just under £5k. Car is imaculate and interior is so clean. I dont know how he does it.

  4. Hello,

    What a co incidence!

    I have collected my 430 this morning from Lexus Wolverhampton having had done a 100K/10year service. The car is a 2001 and has done 80K so done 5 months early.

    The service included:

    Oil

    Oil filter

    Air filter

    Air Con filters

    Diff oil change

    Coolant change

    Brake fluid change

    Wiper rubbers replaced

    Remote battery replaced

    AND

    TIMING BELT REPLACED

    Total cost £516.21 which I thought was very reasonable considering some of the horror stories i've heard about £400+ just for the cam belt change.

    The service was excellent and I was provided with a virtually brand new RX450H for 24 hours whilst the job was done.

    I would certainly recommend this dealership.

    Pete

    This is a very big coincidence Pete as I was looking at Wolverhampton Lexus. They are the closest lexus dealers tome as I live in Dudley. The price is very good but I want to get my water pump done at the same time. Who did you speak to at Lexus Wolverhampton.

  5. Hi Guys

    I finally got my 2002 LS430 LPG converted.

    The conversion was done on the 15th Nov 2010 and was carried out by Mr Nuzzar of Birmingham Auto Gas oppossite Star City in Birmingham (BAG).

    I used BAG because a very close friend of mine had his BMW 728i converted by him three years ago. Since then he has covered 180k miles in his BMW (yes I sais 180,000 as he is a taxi driver) without a problem. He told me the conversion would take a day.

    A bit reluctant I went with my friend to BAG and spoke to Nuzzar. I found out that he is a big Lexus fan currently driving a LS430 himself which he himself converted.

    So I left the car with him andnext day got it back at 6pm. I have since then done 1300+ miles without a problem and have had the 1000 mile service done aswell. The car drives excellent and I got the following mileage

    first tank = 239 miles mixed driving

    2nd = 222 miles mixed driving

    3rd = 255 miles motorway driving (fast)

    4th = 254 miles motorway driving (fast)

    5th = 238 miles mixed driving.

    I am loving it.

    The system fitted is a OEBD OMVL DreamXXiN with a 72litre toroidal tank which fills up with 60 litres.

    Happy motoring.

  6. Hi Guys

    Hope you can help on this one.

    I need to install a parrot Bluetooth kit and have purchased a SOT lead to install it. On the instruction manual it says I have to connect it to the AMP in the boot. I therefore had to kind off make my own loom to bring it from the boot to the front.

    What I need from you guys is "How do I route it from the boot to the dash" as I dont know how to take the trim off.

    How do I get the loom from the amp in the boot past the rear seats. After that it is simple to take the trim off.

    Any info or pics will be much appreciated.

  7. Ok Guys I have taken the plunge and booked my LS430 for LPG conversion. It gets converted on Monday with the OMVL system. It is being done in Birmingham opposite star city and the guy converting it also drives a LS430 which he converted himself.

    He tells me that round town he gets about 180 miles and motorway 220 plus. He has seen 248 aswell.

    I will keep you guys informed.

    Drive safe in these awful weather conditions.

  8. Hi Guys

    My passenger mirrorhas started to stick. It closes properly but you have to keep pushing the switch from auto to on for it to move a little. \you keep doing this until the mirror is out. Is this common and is there a fix for this.

    Also on youtube it shows how you overide the satnav. But that does not work on my 2002 LS430.

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Ifty

    I've had the mirrors sticking a few times on my LS430.

    It's normally caused by dirt or debris getting stuck in the housing.

    This happens often after washing the car and particularly if you use a jet wash.

    You just need to clean thoroughly with a cloth sufficiently thin to get in all the gaps.

    I'm not sure what you mean by 'override the satnav'

    What I mean by satnav overide is as follows

  9. I expected fuel consumption but not this much. I have a Mercedes S320CDI which has nearly 200k miles of which I have done 120k.. I love the drive on the LS430 and may convert it if I get a reputable installer. I bought the LS430 ever since it came out but had my IS200. I bought the S320 and loved driving it. My brother bought his GS430 sport and I drove it. After that drive I had to buy the LS430 and here I am 2 months down the road. My brother now wants to sell his GS430 Sport and buy an LS430.

    LPG or no LPG I am driving this car no matter what the cost.

  10. Hi Guys

    I have just bought a LS430 Premium Pack yesterday and I am condidering an LPG conversion. If any of you have had it done please let me know your thoughts on it.

    I have seen a thread here on the marelli system and just wanted to know if that is any good. The installer near me uses Zavolli, is that any good.

    I am based in the Midlands

    Any advice is appreciated

  11. fitting from steve at charlesworth(glossop) is £400,£100 to decat. the car goes very quick indeed.most supercharged LOCers have fitted the kit themselves cos they got the know how,but if you aint you gotta pay out unfortunately.Many locers have pointed out to me by the way that this is expensive,so @ Ifty if you are considering it, find out about a cheaper fitting from some of the much more experienced chaps on this educational forum.Steve is a very nice chap also,and theres the grey mare pub next door which is handy. :D :D

    [/quote

    How much was the super charger?
