  1. sorry for being disppeared for such a long time. the price went up to 1940 now, and it may still climb up if they find more damanges my supercharger kit is gone........ :crybaby:
  2. thanks for all replies i took my car to a lexus approved garage today, their guy told me that from what he could see, im looking for at least 600 quid. and he will carry out a further estimation on this Wed. the even worse news is the bloody tesco insurance disapproved my claim, coz im using hongkong licence and didn't tell them when i bought the insurance online. i tried to argue with them but it seems pointless. sorry i didn't take any pic after the acident, i just feel very bad when i look at it..
  3. It was a nice saturday morning, i was driving back home with my mate on my IS200. for somehow reason i didnt manage to see the T-junction ahead then went off the road straightly and hit a wall, with aproximately 40mph.. the front bumper was damaged quite badly, but the best part of the story was my mate and I wasn't hurt in anyway. I am now calling lexus coventry for repairing the car, anyone got any idea how much it will cost for replacing a new front bumper and some proper body work? and btw, does lexus coventry give gold membership discount? many thanks. simon.
  4. didn't get any strange noise from suspension part. oh btw. i heard that lower ball joint can sometimes cause alignment problem, is that true? thx
  5. thank you Rikos the person who hit my car claimed that was a company car, so he refused to sort it out personally. i hate dealing with insurance company either, especailly when i don't speak good english.
  6. full bodykit and lower springs are gonna make your car looks stunning.
  7. hi all just done the 60k service for my IS200 last week, on the safety report, it said 'both of the front lower ball joint have excess play, need urgent attention' however, i brought my car to MOT yesterday, it passed the test with no problem at all, the technician didn't mention anything about the lower ball joint. i did a research on the forum, lower ball joint issue is one of the main reason for MOT failure. now i am quite in two minds.. could anyone please advise should i replace the lower ball joint now? if the lower ball joint do have excess play, what kind of result it may lead to? thanks in advance. simon
  8. 5 doors. maybe he has a little misunderstanding with sport version and sportcross? but it lost so much horse power. thats a shame..
  9. thx people im with tesco insurance, not sure how long their limit is. hopefully it is longer than 3 months :) i wasn't in the UK during the last few months. hopfully they will take this reason for my late report. B)
  10. B) Don't be silly...it doesn't do that. Was there something wrong with the car or is this a wind up? Are you sure you had it in auto because if the gear lever is over to the right of the auto slot it's in manual mode,,,,you can use the paddles on the wheel OR push the gear lever forward or back to manually change up or down. Sounds like you had it in manual and fourth gear from your description, but can't think how you'd manage to drive it like that. Lack of power?? You've got to be joking, even though it's only 206 brake horse power in standard form. well. i started the engine when the car is in auto mode, then i instantly changed it to manual mode, and there was a '4' showed on the display screen.. sorry if the question is being silly. cos i have driven serveral semi-auto cars before and never had this kinda problem. yea.. i have to admit the power above 3000rpm was awesome...
  11. thank you for all the replies.. much appreciated however do anyone realise that when you start the car in full automatic mode, the gearbox starts from 4th gear in default.. is that why i felt the car lack of power? i am sure it wasn't in snow mode, and the footbrake was released. :winky:
  12. thx winnie will contact my insurance company tmw many thanks simon
  13. hi all had a IS250 loan car last week during my IS200 60k service. the car eqquied with an automatic gearbox, and i found it extermly lack of power in fully auto mode, during the low rev (especially while the car start to move). then i tried the tiptronic mode, changed gear when nearly approach the red line, and i found the most power output was nearly above 4000 rpm i personally felt that it wasn't suitable for driving on a cityway. am i right or wrong?? many thanks simon
  14. hi all it was about last xmas, in a car park of greenwich. where my car was scraped by a careless driver. left about 10cm * 10cm scratch on the front bumper luckly i was in the car when the accident happened, and got all his insurance info. so i didnt call the police and the insurance company at that time. the thing is, i havn't been to repair my car untill now.. so wondering would it be too late to claim the insurance for repairing? can i just leave my car to a local bodyshop (or lexus dealership) with that guy's insurance info and let them take care about it? many thanks simon.
  15. same here.. just became gold.. and going to visit the Dr. on Thuesday..
  16. the reception is quite good. not much difference to the original aerial. make sure the base of the shark fin aerial is big enough to cover the aerial mount on your car. i can offer you a 99.9% new black alloy shark fin aerial for 12pounds including p&p, thats the one i got it off ebay 1 week ago, but i couldnt fit it on due to the size of base, but in your case if your mount was broken, it should fit yours. leave me a pm if want this. simon
  17. Was it worth it tho? Want to get mine done but -30mm doesn't seem that much considering it looks like its on stilts on wheels as standard. the HKS lowering springs i got lower the car 35mm.. it makes the car looks lot more better than standard. i didnt really 'test' the car for cornering so far, so couldnt make any comments right now. but if you want great improvement on handling, should really go for a set of coilovers rather than springs, although they are far more expensive.
  18. straight road and braking are both fine.. it happens when cornering and driving throught speed ramps. i guess what Brettster said is right, just need to wait the springs settle
  19. thx for all replies i brought it to a local garage today, paid 280 in total.. quite expensive indeed.. now saving again for a supercharger~~
  20. sorry if this question was asked before, i did a research in the forum but couldnt find the answer. i got my IS200 lowered 35mm by HKS lowering springs today, just after i got the car back from garage, i heard some knocking noice from the driver's side front wheel, it happenes when i turn the car. as i searched in the forum, some members said the problem could be the worn lower ball joint, but i dont think it is the problem in my case, coz everything was just fine before i changed the springs. many thanks Simon
  21. hi all. i bought a set of HKS lowering springs for my IS200 SE, and just got a quote from a local independent garage, said: 'the whole job would take between 4 to 6 hrs assuming you have all 4 springs.our current labour rate is £36 per hour + 17.5% vat.' is it the typical price you can get from independent garages? also could anyone please recommend some good garages in kent area? many thanks simon
  22. in fact 235 on the rear was setup by the previous owner when i bought this car 6 months ago, and i never change the rears since i have bought it. i dun think using different size tyres is illegal in this country, one of my mate use 265 tyres on the rear + 235 on the front on his RX7 however, i think wide tyres on the rear provide better traction, as the car is FR. so it would be better using 235 on the rear. well thats only what i guess, so if it looks silly please point out.. many thanks
  23. thanks for all replies also, which tyre brand do you recommend? i maybe go for TOYO, but not sure wether T1-R or T1-S will be better? btw.. P38Aaron, your car looks great after lowered, just cant wait to get my lowering spring.. : )
  24. Hi everyone. just a short question, i currently using 215/45/17 in the front, 235/40/17 in the rear on my IS200 SE, apprently the front tyres are bigger than the rears. just wondering are there any potential problems by using this set-up? also, i am going to lower the car 35mm, by using HKS lowering springs, after that, i wanna get a new set of tyres, im now considering using 215/40/17(front) and 235/45/17(rear). could anyone gimme some advices on the new setting? thanks in advance. simon
  25. my IS200 has a seriosus vibrating when driving at fast speed, like over 90mph. is it the symptom of worn ball joint? of just the tyre issue as i suppose. many thanks
