  1. Hi David, I believe that option is to save the Lexus Portal login password not the WiFi hotspot one. I will give it all a try over bluetooth, if that works ok problem solved. Thanks for the responses though.
  2. Hey David, thanks for the quick response, I have looked everywhere for the save password option but have failed miserably to find it. Next time you are messing around in your car, please can you check and let me know where it is. So, I assume then, when you enable your phone hotspot , your car just connects to it yes?
  3. Hi guys, do you chaps know if it is possible to get the car to remember your WiFi hotspot password? Its a real pain having to enter it each time you want to connect the car WiFi to the phone WiFi hotspot. Might be answering my own question here.. Do I even need to use the WiFi for connected services if I have a bluetooth connection to the phone? i.e. Can the car use the phones internet connection over bluetooth?
  4. Success at last :) I finally managed to get the music videos playing on the NAV display from my iPod touch. I had to use the apple A/V adaptor from the 30pin connector on the iPod. That adaptor gives you the left and right audio and composite video on male phono type plugs and it also gives you a USB plug. I then got a composite video to 4-pole 3.5mm lead to plug into the AUX input in the IS. Then connected the two sets of male phono connectors via a three way phono joiner adaptor. Set the video playback for the A/V input on the car to NTSC (that threw me for a while cause I thought we were PAL) and hey presto Ellie Goulding vids on the Nav display from the iPod touch and I still get to select via the car menus. All I need now is to be able to override the parking brake inhibit so my passenger can watch vids on the move grrrrr!
  5. I must admit Ian, I was always told that the reversing camera was only included with the Navigation option but I may be wrong!
  6. ..... and that helps me how ?? LOL !!! Only messin' with ya!!! Hmmm, and I don't recall ever going on holiday with you !!!
  7. That's how I have mine at the moment. Plays music audio fine that way but for music videos you only get the audio. The manual seems to imply that you can get the video via the AUX input but I am unsure how to cable it up.
  8. Yup, no preview other than the turn list. That's a shame, hate it when they arbitrarily remove useful stuff :(
  9. Hi guys, anybody know if there is a cable available that will allow me to play video from an iPod Touch or iphone via the 3.5mm AUX/AV socket ? Manual just says contact the dealer.
  10. Oh this car is just great. Arrived early to pick the wife up from work so fired up the DVD player and chilled out to a bit of live Nickelback, the time just flew by. Shame the video disappears as soon as you release the parking break :(:( At least the audio was still blasting out :) :)
  11. Nobody gonna dink my car in the works car park today, managed to get the only space in the multistory that is completely isolated with no cars either side :)
  12. You are correct DJP. I have not been able to find any version number resembling anything like VC03101C. Where are you guys looking ?
  13. Hey guys, I have an IS300h Premier ie with the Nav. I am struggling to find the screen that shows the version number. Can you guys give me instructions on how to find it please? Many thanks.
  14. Thanks D, reg blanked and USB prob sorted. It didn't like also having the iPod plugged in at the same time.
  15. Yes, I am really pleased I took the chance on the Mesa Red especially as I had not seen one in the flesh. Well chuffed, what a great car, over the moon. Already forgotten how much it cost LOL
  16. Hey DJP, I can't get the custome startup image to work. I've tried two different USB sticks each with a folder calle Image but the option to copy from USB is greyed out. What am I doing wrong. The images are .jpg files. Any ideas?
  17. Well a big thumbs up to Lexus Hatfield. Full tank of fuel, aluminium briefcase full of cleaning stuff including torch, multitool etc, box of chocks, nice posh Lexus key fob and a Lexus chronograph watch to boot !!! WOW !!! Here are some initial pics for ya although the pics do not do the colour justice, it looks stunning close up
  18. We'll if the service I have had from the guys at Lexus Hatfield over the past 7 years of RX ownership is anything to go by, I will be very surprised if they don't fill her up. Sounds like it just might be Lexus policy to ensure they maintain their high customer satisfaction ratings. Makes sense. It's little touches like that that make a difference. They don't cost a lot do they?
  19. Growing up is way over rated David so I just haven't bothered :) Have a great day tomorrow Alan, I sure intend to, wife at work, day off, new car, open road, I hope they fill it up before the handover!
  20. One more sleep to go.........Sleep!!!! How the hell am I gonna sleep?? Hopefully some pictures will be posted by this time tomorrow :) Just hope everything goes to plan and I don't forget anything !
  21. Just two more sleeps to go :) I must say though, I will miss the RX. She has been really reliable over the past 7 years or so. Just hoping I will manage to get all the gig gear in the IS, it's gonna be cosy but should manage...... I hope!
