  1. This is a nice and simple one but thought i'd post up just to add to the guide.

All 4 of my doors started squeaking / creaking recently, not sure if it was coincidence or the fact that i cleaned the car inside and out.

    Anyway, the solution is simple:

Open the doors wide open, and find the hinge about half way down connected to the car.

Squirt 2 shots of spray grease or a couple drops of lube on the pin, and swing the door a few times for the lube to get around the entire hinge.

Voila :D noise all gone. B)

The rear passanger door on mine is quite bad for creaking and I clean inside the door near the hinges too, thanks for the info on that one. :D

  2. I've been looking for an IS200 repair manual, there are some on eBay (on cd) for other models but I just can not seem to get a copy unless I'm willing to pay £20 for a copied cd-rom. I decided to phone Lexus in Cambridge which resulted in them telling me they would be lucky if they could get me one atall.

I have been on the Lexus Tech Docs site http://techdoc.lexus-europe.com and paid to download the documents only to find that the site isn't working correctly. :tsktsk:

Please can anyone advise me where to get hold of this manual?

  3. Thankyou for all your help, I will order the IK20's straight away.

    :D

Where are you buying them from? Don't pay too much :winky:

    I was looking at www.spark-plugs.co.uk?

    Try HERE $51 + shipping for a set of 6 :D

I have used them for plugs for the Tezza, can't remember how much the shipping was but it will work out a lot cheaper than £70.

Thanks for the advice on where to get the plugs MacRS200 :)

Do you know which Oil Filters are best for the IS200, I've heard you can get "high pressure" oil filters. I've had a quick look on K&N and found this http://www.knfilters.com/oilfilter.htm. Is this "high-flow rate" stuff a load of rubbish or does it actually make any difference?

  4. Hi everyone, I'm a little confused as to which plugs I should use in my IS200 SE 24v (GXE10). I have checked the Denso website which tells me i should use "Denso SK20R11" spark plugs. From what I can work out "Denso IK20" should be fine even though Denso only recommend them for the (JCE10) model of the IS200.

I'm confused as to which ones to buy. :duh:

Please could anyone verify if the Denso IK20 plugs will work in the (GXE10) and if they are pre-gapped, will this make any difference to the performance of the car?
