  1. Well Like it or loathe it, you can't IGNORE it. And thats the point with demonstrators right?

Personally, I prefer Kandys and 'Flakes to flip pearls, but thats my opinion. One things for sure its a damn sight better install than that Max power Corrado from years ago. Now that was FUGLY!

(This from a man who built a lowrider from a Suzuki Santana!) But I'm better now! ;)

  2. anyone had error1? Mine starts to spin up to read the disk index and just gives error1. I am using original CDS by the way.

as for error 3, Tis was a tolerancing problem I heard, if you look at various CD's they are different thicknesses, Obviously Fujitsu Ten got the tolerances wrong for the transport, hence jammed CDS and error3

    just my 2p

  3. so where do we get meguiers from? is it mail order from the US or something? Just ordered over a grands worth of House of Kolor paint (for the Chev not the IS) so obviously I may as well get the best polish....

  4. Had one repaired on my last car, first time id seen it done. It was a "Bullseye" you know chip with the circle round it, but no cracks. Autowindscreens bloke came round the same day and filled it You honestly could see it unless you knew exaclty where it was. But I got it repaired quickly. Like most thinkgs the longer you leave it the worse it is.

  5. Its a fairly valid argument for the ipaq route, considering you get a PDA for your cash as well, however its a pain in the bum to remember to bring all its bits with you every time, plug it in to the lighter etc, so much simpler when you just press a button and there it is!

True! But is it 1800 pounds less hassle? My ipaq takes longer to first fix in the morning. I gotta plug it in (the sucker and charger stay in the car) the only extra I have to bring is the sleeve which it fits in, so I'm happy with that. Regarding the quality of the systems, there are actually only a couple of companies which do the mapping so you'll either get one or the other anyway, even with an "In car system". A grand I would've paid for the Lex system (even without the additional functionality of the IPAQ) but not £2300, thats steep to me.

p.s. If you've already got an IPAQ, the Sleeve and software for satnav is about £300 quid!

    :o :o :o :geek:

    nerd alert!

  6. Sat Nav is superb! although £2300 punds is a lot to pay for a system which does nothing else and sits in the car all the time.

There are some very good portable systems for the IPAQ out there, Navman, Tom Tom navigator etc. They are easy to use (although no postcode either) accurate and also can be moved from vehicle to vehicle (cigarette lighter powered and suckered to windscreen) and you also get a Hand held PC into the bargain!

    The cost for this?

    about £700 -£800 all in

Oh and the Navman comes with maps for the whole of Europe.

    You pays your money...

  7. Be careful where you get your trigger from cos you could end up with the mirrors closing every time you lock the doors (sounds good) except if you hit the little "lock me in" button and your mirrors disappear! had this quite a bit on the FTO forum when I had one of those!

  8. Actually A re-radiating antenna won't do anything for the TTFF times on the Navman as this is due to interference from the main processor (I'm told) My Navman also works fine with the IS windscreen

even with the complete bundle (around 7-800 notes with the IPAQ) it's still cheaper than many in car systems. and has Voice direction into the bargain.
