  1. thanks for that will take a look now just had a look, my plate is totally different than yours, however, your colour code being 3N3, there is a number on mine with a C next to it that is 8N8, so i guess it is logical that 8N8 will be my colour code. thanks for your assistance.
  2. sorry, tried to use the search tool but the page would not load, so here goes, sorry if they have been asked a million times before. can anyone tell me what pressure the is200 se (215/45/17) tyres should be at, mine are currently low at 28 psi at the front and 30 at the back, so i want to blow them up but not sure what they should be. secondly, can anyone tell me the paint code for strathcaron blue, i need a touch up pen or something but none of the main retailers, (halfords etc) sell any colours for lexus. if it makes any difference it is an 03 model. cheers peeps
  3. just spoken to a mechanic mate of mine who sxtated that the sound is likely to be a CV joint and although he did not go into detail he said it needs to be checked urgently as if it "goes" it could be dangerous. don't know if he is correct, its something to do with the axle i think, but better to be safe than sorry mate, get it checked
  4. no fabrication skills but might knowsomeone who has. do the pics lok ok? for some reason could only post as an attachment instead of pics
  5. i knew it would not be easy. will try to post some piccys picssupercharger.docpics below
  6. i have seen an eaton m62 supercharger for sale at far less than i would have expected based on my previous thread, so would like to know if they are any good and also apparently it came off a nissan car, will they fit directly onto any car or will it have to be modified or will it just not fit at all. also, it came off a car that had done 16000 miles, is it going to need overhauling? thanks, andy
  7. make sure you report it to the police for a start, i know a lot of people think the police do nothing about these things, and initially they generally don't, because its very difficult to prove who it is, but if the problems continue, things can be done, such as covert observations, plain clothes bobbies, cctv installation, ASBO's. really feel for you on this as i had the same problem at my last address, some bloody idiots decided to trash my Alfa Romeo and a few other cars on the street, and therewas an incident where all the tyres were slahed on the entire street. the police did a few nights surveilance from an empty house and locked all of the hooligans up, got them asbo's, and then the problems stopped. as for your windscreen, my wife had an rac autoglass repair job and you really could not tell it was there.
  8. you could also write to the ambulance service and tell them that an ambulance caused you to hit the curb and it caused damage and you wish to be recompenssed for the cost of the repair. you will need details of when and where etc
  9. cheers for that. can't afford that much money so unless there is a far cheaper alternative i will just have to stay at 153 bhp. don't know where i got the impression, but i thought that there was a cheaper way of doing it, but likw i said i know nothing about engines. maybe its just the reading of things about resistors on ebay that supposedly make your car faster, even i didn't fall for that one
  10. apparently it creates a cyclone or something in the air intake or something, take a look, says it adds upto 35hp http://www.turbonator.com/
  11. wow, didn't think they would be that expensive, i could have bought a more powerful car for that much more. will have to seriously think about whether the 50bhp is worth that kind of cash. anyone know anything about these air intake jobbies, do they do what they claim thanks
  12. Hi, you will have to excuse me, i am a total novice when it comes to car engines, what i know about them could be written on the back of half a stamp. i do however like my cars to be powerful. i had never even heard of a supercharger before joining this site, and i like the sound of it. do you need any technical knowledge to fit one, does it have to be done by a proffessional, and how much do they cost. just done a google search and came up with supercharger kits ranging from £50 to £2500, so there must be a big difference in quality and types. i am not wealthy so i can't afford a turbo. saw an add on a link from this site for a TURBONATOR, some kind of steel pipe that creates a vortex in the air intake. anyone tried one of these, do they work? does the claim of increased mpg hold water? also, with a supercharger, does the mpg suffer a lot or is it only slight, or does that depend on how you drive it after its installed. thanks for putting up with the questions, please feel free to go into detail, but please don't confuse me with science and engine talk, i know nothing. treat me like a child learning to read. i know how to check the oil, but changing a spark plug would at this moment be totally beyond me.
  13. i used to have full leather in my old car and it just makes the heated seats sticky, the half leather is much better when the heat is switched on
  14. hi, thanks for that, its appreciated
  15. just been told by my mate that the is200 has to have specific tyres that are very expensive as they were designed for the cars, which like mine, have the navigation system. now i have done a search and come up with a couple of post about people using dunlops and yokohamas etc, but does this effect anything or not. also, are all the is200 models rear wheel drive, or just some of them. and finally, my front tyres are more warn than my rear tyres, is it worth swaping them over to try to prolong them thanks
  16. hi, just got a 2003 is200 navigator and was looking at the best way of upgrading the nav system dvd to a newer date. i have been told that the dvd is generic across the range of both lexus and toyotas, is this true? the lexus garage said it would be approximately £350 to get the dvd from them, don't really want to spend anything like that figure, especially as i have a road angel navigator 6000 sat there doing nothing since i got the lexus. would prefer to have the lexus updated as it is a better system, but it is 3 years out of date. i have seen a dvd on ebay, an original 2006 dvd for the rx/gs models. would this work? or one of the old posts on here i think from 2004 says that the one from a toyota avensis would work, but i can't find one. any help would be appreciated with this cheers xdeity
