  1. Tint R Us .......... Chadwell heath ....... probably looking at about £300 all round ...and don't forget...be careful not to let them fit any tint to the front or front side windows that filters out more than 30% of the available light or Scaryface or one of his colleagues may catch you out with one of these Thanks, I thought it was just the front I had to worry about, didn't realise the front sides would be a problem as well. May treat myself for Xmas (once I sorted the scratches out, damn exchange shopping centre and Tesco Car Parks!!!! :tsktsk: )
  2. Anyone know how much it would cost to get a GS300 tinted up? Also who can you recommend in the East London/Essex area to do it? Thanks!
  3. I'm running AVG Anti-virus (freeware)....will this pick up spyware? Aido is right, AVG is good at finding viruses but spyware is much more of a problem on PCs. I use ad aware from Lavasoft AND Anti Spyware. If one does not get it the other one does. Most of my slowdowns have been tracked down to either a trojan or spyware hogging resources. Incidentally these will not always show as taking up CPU time. If your HDD is the problem then a full scan disk will let you know if there are errors (windows may be trying to load progs that are corrupt which slows things down). Also as someone else suggested check the transfer mode of the Hard Disk (Primary IDE Channel in Device Manager). If windows encounters a problem it will step down to PIO mode rather than Ultra DMA which is Verrrryy slowwwww. Lastly as silly as it may sound I have had the whole system slow down if I had a dirty or scratched CD\DVD in the drive. Everytime you do something Windows will try to access the cd (whether it needs to or not!!) Take out and cds and see if that makes a difference.
  4. How many of you guys normally make it and what time does it kick off? Only asking as I've got to get home from work and then battle rush hour to get there!!
  5. I wish I did it before I had my 72K service, didn't realise I could get a discount until it was too late!!
  6. I think there was a recent change in the law that allows the use of these low power transmitters. They only go out about a couple of meters but get a quality one, the one I got off ebay was a bit naff!
  7. From reading the forums/internet I bought some Scratch X and used it yesterday. While it polished up the paintwork nicely it didn't really do much for the scratches. I'm a bit worried about using this other stuff though, don't want to make it worse. I have ordered some touch up paint though and will give it a go when it arrives, otherwise a call to Chips Away!
  8. Do Westfield give a discount for LOC members?
  9. Yep.. I had mine done after fitting lowering springs by the main man and He certainly knows his stuff.. Top guy is Tony :D Alas... I'm still awaiting him now to accommodate the 'lowriders' so I can get my new (much needed) geometry sorted from coilover fitting. Overheard at Lexus Woodford last week that the price is now £140. Don't know whether that includes VAT. whats the point of going to lexus, when they use incorrect settings ;) as proven by dr bones Now I know, I'll not be back!!
  10. Tell us more!! What do you get and how much?? Lexus Woodford charged me £125 for it a couple of years ago.
  11. My GS300 has just gone in for a service this morning at Lexus Woodford. Any recomendations on other garages around this area I can use instead?? Just been told its gonna cost me almost £800!!!!!!!!!!! Will have to go indy after this!
  12. I'm not paying 100quid an hour just to have a poncy coffee and sit in a poncy leather sofa reading the FT when ex-Lexus dudes can do a better job at a much, much cheaper price.. My GS300 has just gone in for a service this morning at Lexus Woodford. Any recomendations on other garages around this area I can use instead??
  13. Newbie question (as I'm new!) but how easy is it to rip the old exhausts off as mine are looking very tired?
  14. I've just joined myself, though I've had my Mk2 GS300 Sport for 4 years now. Found this site after looking for advice on reviving my tired paintwork. Didn't know cleaning your cars was so complicated!! The new IS's look fab, let us know how it runs. Darkman
