  1. its not impossible to do

if you want to keep the sat nav and use an aftermarket head unit you can

but you still need the factory head unit attached to the sat nav to make it work

so you need I think 4 wires the power ones for the head unit and there's 2 signal wires that need to be connected to the lexus head unit too

you can route the sound from the sat nav to your new head unit aux input.

I have seen someone do this on the is300.net site he extended the wires and installed the lexus headunit in the boot out of sight.

a load of messing around but at least it is a solution

  2. I used hammerite smooth on mine

    bright red

    really easy to use

but you have to apply extra coats within a couple of hours or else it starts to cure and then you need to wait 6 weeks before you can add more coats

after a few weeks i put on some white lexus stickers and used some clear lacquer to make sure the stickers dont come off

looks really good and is an easy mod to do

  3. Since tuesday when it got really hot my cd player is no longer playing cd's that well

it either just skips thru the cd or displays Err1 on the display

    anyone else had this problem?

Certain cd's still play fine and it seems to be CDR's that play better than originals :duh:

  4. there's a good chance that the language is stored on a chip and can be switched to Eng / JAP with the flick of a dip switch or jumper

but having never seen one of these items im not certain

but worth a look if you have a jap system and can get a decent scan of the circuit board, may also be able to change it with a software setting in the secret options screen.
