  1. ...In which it probably says that your rear indicator lights are a PY21W (or 7507). Good suggestion fluffmeister! :)
  2. Ok, the rear indicator bulbs are 7507A, which are offset bayonet connections. You can get these in silver from eBay too: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/7507A-silve...sspagenameZWD2V Before you all go spending money on bulbs based on what I've said - can anyone who actually has an IS please confirm that I'm not fibbing?
  3. No, the rear ones are something different. I'll look at work tomorrow if I remember and let you know. But yes, the side ones are W5W, I'm sure.
  4. Are you looking for these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/7440-7440A-...sspagenameZWD2V Just search eBay for "7440A"
  5. Yep, when I was looking around Tokyo Express was the best place. The exhausts are cheaper in the USA, but importing and paying duty and VAT works out about the same, so you're as well off just getting one from TE. Good job!
  6. Ok, great thanks! I see from his Garage that's the case. I've sent him a PM. Appreciate the info!
  7. Hi guys, I feel stupid asking, but what are the widest wheels anyone's got on an IS? I expect 8.5" are straightforward, are they? But has anyone got anything over 9" tucked under their rear arches? I know some people have wide body kits on their ISs which probably make a difference, but if anyone's got any ideas? Another way of putting it - can you get 8.5" on the front and 9.5" on the rear? Thanks, Al
  8. I like 'em. Where did you get that kit, and how easy did you find them to fit? ...and would YOU receommend them?
  9. He is, but I appreciate the likeness, thanks guys! (It's me)
  10. Yes, as someone said - ebay but you can get them from here WAY cheaper: eBay UK link I don't know what these "7000k" kits are like, but I'm sure you can get them going just fine and they'll look ok. Depends if you want a kit from someone like http://www.lextasy.com and pay more for them or just get a cheap set and give them a go. Good luck - let us all know how they turn out.
  11. Ok, if anyone else is interested, or was thinking about a big brake kit and hasn't considered this - I've emailed several UK suppliers of this kit in the UK and posed the question. Hopefully they'll let me know which replacement pads should be bought, where sells them, how much they are and they should also be legal UK versions. When I know - you'll know. I'll post the replies.
  12. The problem is the Brembo GT kits come with illegal pads that contain asbestos. You can't use those in the EC. Would other pads from other manufacturers fit do you suppose? Or do Brembo in the UK sell pads that don't contain asbestos perhaps? These are the kits from the USA which have pads with asbestos.
  13. Hi guys, When you buy a big brake kit for any car, such as Brembo GT, AP Racing, KAD, StopTech etc. etc. how do you know what brake pads you need to fit to these kits when it comes to replacment? I guess it would be really dumb to assume you can just go and get brake pads for an IS if you've changed the calipers, so I guess there must be some that fit these, but how do you know? Any suggestions appreciated. Perhaps when you get the kit, the instructions/manual that comes with them specify which pads need to be bought - but I don't know how pads are specified either, so... Anyone? Thanks! Al
  14. It seems that the memories are stored on a computer under the seat (that was only on seats in post 2004 cars in the US) This link to a thread on my.is shows a guy who fitted newer seats to his older car which seems pretty straightforward: Link Although obviously you would need to source a seat and the memory switch from the US and then fit it over here (assuming that there are no differences between the UK and US seats) Let us know how you get on if you do decide to do it, cos it would probably be the first in the UK :) Wow, thanks for the reply - nice find. If I get this off the ground then I'll let you know how it goes. I don't have a car yet, but at only $400 I might source the seats sooner rather than later if I can get some. Thanks for taking the time to look. I searched my.is and didn't find that, so well done! Al,
  15. Hmm, I wonder where the memories are stored, and what's required to get them from a US car into a UK IS300. Anyone know?
  16. Guys, Does anyone with an IS300 know if the electric seats have a memory function? I know the new IS250 has and I'm hoping the IS300 did because I'm 6'4" and my wife (to-be, by the time I've got my IS) is only 5'0". Just wondering. Thanks! Al,
  17. Going a bit off topic now, but thanks for peoples posts on insurance prices so far. To fill you all in, I've not got a car at the moment. I had a Supra and wrote it off 18 months ago and have been without a car since. I had 3 years NCB which is now down to 1, but my insurer said they'll honor it when I reinsure. I was with Elephant because I've never found anyone as cheap as them. When I looked for insurance on a Supra (when I was 23) I had quotes from £1200 to £2500, but Elephant trumped the lot with £700. Now I'm 26 with 1 year NCB I'm interested to see from you guys how much the turbocharging or supercharging an NA car adds to your insurance. Interesting numbers though - thanks everyone for your input so far!
  18. First off, sorry if this is the wrong forum or if this has been asked before. I did a search and didn't find anything. I'm interested in replies from owners of IS200 or IS300 turbocharged or supercharged cars - if you don't mind telling me (well, all of us) how much this has changed your insurance costs. Assuming you've declared this change to your insurers, could you please post the following details if you'd be so good: IS200/IS300 Turbo/Supercharged Your insurance company's name How much insurance was before you declared this change How much insurance went up to Also, (optionally): Your age Your no claims bonus Any other mods to the car you've declared I think this would be really useful information. Certainly for me it will, and I hope for other people as well. My thanks in advance! :) Al,
  19. Try Gibson & Boyne in Hampshire. The do LOTS of Supras and they're really great guys. Here's a Supra they retrimmed with black leather/grey alcantara inserts/red piping: http://www.gibsonandboyne.com/gallery/disp...um=5&pos=32 http://www.gibsonandboyne.com/
  20. Hi all, Where to begin? I'm Alasdair (Al, if you prefer) and I'm a Toyotaholic. I guess it all started with my second car which was a Honda Civic VTi for which I had lots of modding plans which never came to much. After 12 months I started looking at Supra TTs and found the insurance for one was the same as the VTi... so who wouldn't switch? I owned my Supra for a couple of years until I wrote it off mid 2005. How I wish I'd bought the RLTC. Anyway, I've been sans car for 18 months now and I'm looking for my next project. I'm getting married this May, so when the cost of the wedding and the honeymoon are out of the way I'll be saving to hopefully get a car next winter. So... my thoughts on cars. I might have another Supra TT because I love the car, I know the car and it's not very expensive to buy. But then I'm not sure how but I tripped across LOC and thought about an IS with a Supra TT engine swap. My next thought was an IS300 with a supercharger or turbocharger. That's where I'm at right now - reading and researching. I'm patient and I like to know everything about everything before I commit to something. My fiance expressed an interest in the Lexus engine swap idea because the IS is a much more practical car than a Supra - and nicer inside. So at least I have her support. I expect the rest of these points will be discussed in length in the forum in the coming months (rather than here, now) but I'm still exploring my options and I'll have questions, so here I am. Looking forward to picking your brains and sharing with the community. That's something I miss now I don't have my Supra is the community spirit from mkivsupra.net, but if I get the Lexus with the engine swap then I'll belong to both communities again! :) Ok, any questions? :D
  21. Almost anything I searched on regarding the IS on Google returned results to here, so here I am!
