Not 2011------no DRL's,wrong trim,wrong Dash!
Tel
I didn't say it was a MY2011, the car is a 2011 plate MY2010. He wanted to know any good deals on a MY2010 available from dealers shifting stock.
-
2011.When did model year 2011 cars become available?Dealers have MY2010 onwards available at good prices - often "ex-demo" etc. to shift them.
Where???
Lexus Glasgow has a delivery mileage 2011 IS-F for £42k in black http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-is/f/5.0/601354058-2800368.aspx

So if I want a car that has the updated sat nav with full postcode search, LTD slip diff, sun roof and DAB radio what is the earliet year I can get?
I dont want white leather, or blue car!
BTW what does MY mean?
MY = Model Year
For those things you will need a 2010, however just because it's a 10 plate doesn't mean it has those things. Look for DAB button bottom left of the centre console, if it has it then it's a MY2010. Also I think blue bit at bottom of steering wheel.
Last time I looked on Auto trader there were 4 x MY2010, 1 x MY2011 rest MY2008, couple of 2010 cars on there but both were MY2008.

Seems to be quite a bit on confusion in this thread. The following is correct but may not list every addition.
MY2008: Initial IS-F
MY2010: Added LSD (Standard) upgraded Sat Nav with HDD and DAB, white leather, Ultra Sonic Blue colour available
MY2011: Suspension and steering changes, sport button moved to steering wheel, console changes with large rev counter, DRL
-
For a car where tyres cost £100 I wouldn't bother and just take the risk. On the other hand my IS-F ones cost nearly £300 each so needless to say made sure got it for that!
-
This must be due to cutting back on the AC/Blower performance to save weight and fuel. My RX is still the best demisting car I have owned by a massive amount. (Inc MB, BMW)

Just had this done on a 2yr essential care plan for our RX300 54 plate.
To explain it you get a separate Essential card insert to go in your service book with the stamp put on. The checks are less but still include the main aspects, the Minor includes a Oil change with filter etc plus lots of checks (Given the cost of the oil it's pretty good value!). The major includes some filters in addition to the minor service work.

Speed humps?

There were still only approx. 197 ISFs UK registered by end 2011.
Wow that explains why this forums is so quiet :)
-
Look for DAB button, if it has it then it's a MY2010, also if it has white leather seats or is Ultra Sonic Blue then I also believe it's a MY2010.
If looking new then you can also look out for MY2011 which has DRL and the sport button has moved to the steering wheel along with a giant rev counter instead of the current setup.

Been with Admiral for years and they have pretty much always been the cheapest. Sadly they couldn't do enough on my new IS-F though wanting £750 even after lots of haggling down from original £975. Went with Privilege in the end for £535.

to turn it off simply push the cruise control lever away from you and hold it for 3 seconds. This will then engage normal cruise control.
Not sure you read what he was asking? I imagine you have answered how to turn off ACC and just use normal CC. He was asking if PCSS was active all the time to which the answer is yes it is. You do not need to have the cruise control on or anything else for the PCSS to work.

Have a MY2010 IS-F and so far haven't used DAB, the volume level seems very poor compared to FM.
I would however say the MY2010 is worth the extra £3k because:
Proper Limited Slip Diff fitted
Satnav now HDD based rather than DVD, you can also copy 10GB music onto the system.
USB / iPod conectivity in the centre console.
-
Yes added with MY2010

Wouldn't have happened if they had actually connected them to the Exhaust System glad all going to be sorted under warranty though!
-
If it's still under warranty then they should repair for free, can't see how anything on a Lexus should fall off unless it was a manufacturing fault!
-
Thanks for the tips and replies. Will indeed think about the warranty extension, £1850 I think for an extra 2 years.

Grats on the car! The RX is a gorgeous car, only ever had the standard tyres on mine but it's never had any problem in snow. Even last year in foot deep snow it still just plodded on as though nothing had changed :)
For cleaning the roof, standing on the tyres works quite well but yep it's not an easy car to clean the top of unless you happen to be 6ft 4+
Guessing you were the 11am appointment :) (was at Lexus Guilford myself yesterday signing the paperwork for my new baby - ISF ;) )
-
Anyone see some IS-F styling elements in the new GT86 dash? :)
-
Have to say I am shocked; I own an Rx and an Slk and would far rather deal with Lexus than MB. I actually wish I could get my MB serviced at Lexus :)
-
Thanks for the continued updates Terry, much appreciated reading!

Thanks all for the info, very useful!
Disappointed to hear the engine/exhaust noise is not that loud inside even with windows down...that was the thing I adored about the C63 was the rumbling noise :)
The 30MPG on motorway is just for those times have the family and it's a gentle luxury cruise....from reports it's one of the things that attracts me is the fact the IS-F can do so much (1 second be a full out track car the next cruise along albeit at a slightly more bumpy cruise :) ) I would be happy with 24MPG combined, at the moment live with the RX getting about 19-20MPG (Even if you nurse that on the motorway it's hard to get more than about 28/29)
The depreciation seems to be all cars (Looking at IS 250 Advance that would drop about £7k in the first year :( )
Suppose big question....anyone managed to get a 1yr+ baby seat in the back of one? :)
-
Excellent info thanks Tango; the 30MPG was Extra Urban (Crusing along 70-30mph) is this realistic? If so and combined of 24 then it's prob about the same as my SLK (And better than the RX300 :) )

Sounds a bit like Apollo 13! Modern cars do seem to use up a load of power though; probably hasn't helped fuel consumption over the years having the alternator draw more and more power from the engine to support them all.
Interestingly the Fuel Consumption thread might also want to look at sat nav on, audio on, heater on, heated seats on etc If anyone wants to spend a journey without creature comforts in the name of science might be interesting to see just how much it makes a difference!
