  1. Temperature never gets above what I would consider to be normal. In fact, I don't even think it gets that high - I'd say about 1/4-1/3 of the way up. There's no leakage visible at the rad cap - could this still be the cause?
  2. Hi all, Well, after 5 years my boss has finally seen the light and has given me a company car. So the GS300 has to go :( Because I've had the company car on permanent loan for the last 2 or 3 months the GS has been sitting on the drive not being driven, which has resulted in a couple of issues. Firstly a flat battery - no problem there, just fit a new one - but more worrying is a fault that has developed in the cooling system. When I start it the water in the header tank bubbles ferociously as if it is overheating, although this is from a cold start. It then runs for maybe 5 or 10 minutes before cutting out, again, as if it has overheated. My neighbour took a brief look (he has a GS300 too) and speculated that it was pressurisation possibly caused by a blown head gasket. I don't think this is it as I had it to a mechanic about 500 miles ago when I sprung the rad and he categorically said the head gasket was fine. So, any ideas? Could it be as simple as a stuck thermostat (another theory that has been mooted)? Or could the LPG be involved? Or...? Thanks in advance.
  3. bump. So, no-one had any experience of these or know where I can get a RHD version here in the UK?
  4. Anyone know if these things are available in the UK for right-hand drive cars? I emailed this seller and he can do them (with a 20% surcharge), but our radios have different controls, don't they? Link to eBay listing Thanks in advance.
  5. I agree with TigerFish. You may lose a little in the transaction, but it's a gamble worth taking IMO.
  6. Yes, they are grey. Generally they are pretty good. Rear seats have a few small dog claw scratches and front passenger seat has a couple of small dents where they have been stacked. The worst one is the driver's seat that has a seam coming unstitched and age cracks. Overall, they are not brilliant, but would get you out of trouble if your seats are torn or badly stained. Pictures.
  7. I can't bring myself to just sling them out, but I REALLY need the space. I tried to raise some charity money a couple of months ago, but no-one seemed interested at the time. I would prefer a donation to UNICEF in exchange for these seats, but right now I just want rid. Any takers?
  8. Took my '93 GS300 for an MOT and failed on "rear suspension arm has excessive play in a pin/bush". Does that mean a new wishbone? Any ideas where I might source a cheap replacement? Thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks for all your replies, guys. I've actually managed to source some from eBay for £15.50 each plus carriage - now I just need to fit them...
  10. I have a set of grey leather seats and door cards available FREE OF CHARGE to the first person who agrees to make a reasonable donation to UNICEF. I recently advertised these seats for sale, but it seems I cannot sell unless I am a Gold member. I assume that it is supposed that the sale will benefit me and thus I should pay for the privilege. Truth is, I advertised here first in order to maybe help a fellow Lexus driver, and I don't really see why I should pay for that... So, please note: THESE SEATS ARE NOT FOR SALE HERE. They are offered as a swap for a reasonable donation to UNICEF. If you are interested drop me a line. If the figure you have in mind matches the figure I have in mind we have a deal, you have the seats and UNICEF gets the money. These seats are not perfect and all have a few cracks and scratches, also the driver's seat has a seam coming un-stitched, but they would get you out of trouble if you have torn or badly stained seats or if you want to trick up an Aristo with cloth seats.
  11. Medway Security sorted me out with a new key today, £9.95 + VAT. Thanks for the tip, Don!
  12. Thanks Don, have called them and will visit on Monday (they're only 5 minutes from where I work - result!).
