  1. No major probs with ride quality on my 20's + lowering springs. Of course you expect a harsher ride, but amazing there is not a huge difference. there is however dramatic reduction in body roll, more precise cornering, obvious increase in traction (I used to wheelspin easily when going round a rounabout when a little wet or wheelspin when accelerating), and less understeer.
  2. It really depends if you want a staggered look. i.e Rear wheel wider than front wheels. I couldn't source any wheel manufacturers in the UK who make staggered fitments for the SC. The SC is simply not that popular in the UK and people here tend not to modify their SC's. However, in the USA, there is more to choose from. My Goodyear Eagle F1 245/35/20 tyres cost £160 each and the 285/30/20 cost £180 each.... I thought those prices were pretty good!!!
  3. Thanks guys. I am not very good with my camera, so probably not taking the photos at the best angles. The springs are Eibach's. I was told that they may not manufacture them anymore and I got the last set... which was sitting around in Eibach UK warehouse for about 2/3 years!!! They cost £180.. Lowers the front by 20mm and rear by 30mm. The wheels are made by Gianelle, who are a branch of Giovanna. They are a very reputable make in the USA. My wheels are the Qatar model. 8.5x20 up front with 245/35 Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres 10x20 at the rear with 285/30 Goodyear Eagle F1's Offset 35 front and rear.
  4. Not sure if everyone got a chance to see the photos in my "bodykit" thread, so here they are again!! As you can tell I am pretty chuffed with the wheels!!! he he :winky:
  5. The Eibach springs were about £180. They are not on the official Eiback UK catalogue. I phoned lots of stores and everyone said no manufacturers make lowering springs for the SC. But when I phoned Eibach UK directly... they told me they do sell them!! strange!! The wheels are 20". 8.5" wide up front and 10" wide at the rear. :winky:
  6. Here are some photos of the car lowered with Eibach springs and 20 Gianelle wheels Lowered: 20mm front and 30mm rear. 20" Gianelle Qatar rims. 8.5x20 front , 10x20 rear. Offset 35 front and rear. No rubbing at all. Tyres Goodyear Eagle F1. 245/35 front. 285/30 rear. Hope the photos work... I have never put photos on a forum before. Thanks for all the help from you guys!!!!
  7. I disconnected the tyre sensors today... so once again, Ian, thanks for the detailed instructions on the procedure!
  8. Got my SC lower with Eibach springs yesterday!! Handling has improved dramatically!!! Although the guy who fitted the springs did say my wheel alignment was off by quite a bit aswell, so the combination of the springs and wheel alignment means that the car now corners very well compared to stock! The Eibach springs lowers the car by 20mm up front and 30mm at the rear. Its subtle, but I do notice a difference. Makes the car slightly more aggressive. I didn;t go for the Giovanni Dalars. I in fact ordered the Gianelle Qatar rims. I should have got them a week ago but has been delayed due to customs. I should get them Tuesday or Wednesday this week. It wont be till Saturday though before I get them mounted!!! wahey! £1000 sounds good for a kit. Shipping wont be cheap though... but I think I will contact them to see what the total cost might be!! thanks hope to post photos soon! thanks guys
  9. I have set my eyes on a set of Giovanni Dalar wheels. Probably import them from america as it works out a lot cheaper. I think I got a pretty good deal, was $4850. Including shipping, I figure shipping alone is around $1000. Also a UK dealer quoted me £4500 for the same wheels. I don't know how much the duty will be, but my wheels have been at Heathrow for the last 4 days Thats was from http://www.wheelexecutives.com/ speak to Joseph and he will do you a great deal, has no problem shipping to the UK and can do you pretty much any offset/size depending on wheel.
  10. I never bought the Sevas ones after all. I ordered the Aicona ALC 35 http://www.aiconawheels.com/alc35.htm 20x9 +34 front and 20x10.5 +27 rear I went with their recommendation of what they considered the best offset for those wheels. Will probs be another week before I receive them How much did- you -pay for the aicona wheels?? ( if u don't mind me asking)
  11. I read Rominl's guide. It was excellent. I want someone to help clarify something. I spoke to an alloy wheel dealer a couple of days ago and he said the SC430 has big stock calipers and a low offset such as +18 may catch the calipers. According to Rominl the 8.5x20 wheel should have an offset of +18. You suggested +25. What is better / a safer option to avoid rubbing?? And what looks better?? If I understand "offset" correctly, then the +18 should look slightly better as the spokes of the wheel will seem to splay outwards. Whereas a higher offset +45 (stock wheels) make the wheel look really flat! Is that right??? I thought I understood it all......now I am slightly confused again!!! please help.
  12. Sorry for the delayed reply, but thanks once again for the informative answers you provide to my questions. Been phoning over the past few days looking to get a set of 20's. Really excited!!! Cheers
  13. Aquanuke, Have you got your new 20" rims on yet?? I am in the process of buying 20" rims and want the same set-up of 245/35 up front and 285/30 at the rear. But many alloy wheel stores are unsure if they will fit the SC430 and unsure on offset. With your car lowered, I am assuming you have made modifications to the wheel arches to allow the above staggered fitment?? I would really appreciate any pointers!!! Cheers in advance!!!
  14. Thanks for the info once again. irealised there was a typo in the previous post... How much was the kit supplied and fitted? Did you lower the car after fitting the 20" rims?? whatsize of tyres did you use?? thanks
  15. How kuch was the kit supplied and fitted in London?? Is it perfect fit?? with no gaps or flaws?? How is the ride and handling as well as comfort with 20" wheels?? Thanks
