  1. hey guys, is200 is due its 60k service in oct-nov, last yr I took it to the local toyota dealership but I felt that they didnt really do that good a job. Just wanted information on whether a 60k service is a big one thats needed for the car. Also if any one has any rough ideas on cost, if I decide to take it to lexus themselves. thanks.
  2. hey guys, like a fool I ended up trying to get into a tight parking space near the local tesco, ended up brushing up against a huge thorny bramble bush, cut a long story short ive got a very messy scratch on the passengers side, along with a few other chips and scratches along the front and bonnet, which being a kensington green colour go through to the white. I have ordered a chip stick from lexus never used one before just wanted to find out how effective they are and if anyone has any other recommendations as to what to use instead of the chipstick. ie paint thx
  3. Ill be honest when I purchased the is200 (y) auto, it was an impulse buy, thought it looked real nice people had said that it was a good runner etc. didn't really research the vehicle well. now 6 months down the line im having second doubts, tax, insurance prices are increasing but worst of all is the fuel economy im currently doing 28 mpg. and the paintwork is a shambles, the slightest scratch or chip and it goes straight to the white. very impressive car but maintenance wise terrible.
  4. I have an is200 auto, and after reading through the forum and trying to find answers about the alarm, I wanted to know how the alarm is triggered and set off. Yesterday I parked up, opened all windows and set the alarm, gave it 2-3 mins then inserted my arms in, did this several times and nothing. Im guessing that the alarm will probably only go off if the window is smashed or the car is hit heavily , just asking because somewhere on the forums it mentions interior sensors for the alarm. thanks
  5. when im reaching 50-60mph, the steering wheel and auto transmission begin to shake and vibrate heavily, apparently toyota say that this is caused by some sort of over heating with the brake caliper and thats why it needs to be replaced. http://www.speedways.co.uk/c1-bca9445-i24309.html this part is on sale for £105, is this what I need?
  6. Drivers side front caliper needs to be replaced, quote given by toyota for new part and labour is just shy of £450, (seems expensive). Is this a reasonable price for this situation, or would it be easier to just buy the part and have it fitted by the local garage, any ideas where to get the part from? help please.....
