IT is an old car but have you tried an auto electrician or, heaven forfend, a Lexus dealer or is the extent the RAC and here? Electrical problems can be notorious to find on any vehicle but someone needs to spend an extended period trying. It will cost but that is one of the hazards of older cars, low capital cost, potentially high revenue maintenance costs.

Cars don't like easy lives to this extent, the fact that at that age it had only done 47k miles would worry me. Lack of use can cause many problems.
-
Why not a hybrid?
There are threads on here which effectively say that they are fine at towing?
-
Probably to be expected with a car that age, they cost less to buy but can be expensive to keep running. Difficult to have it both ways.

Bridgestone Potenza - 25,000/30,000 miles

Lexus web site or ask your dealer for the service schedules.

The computer in its generosity of spirit is trying to prevent you running illegally! Empty washer = offence. Such a generous computer saving grumpy old men from themselves!!!!!!!!!! :)

Please don't correct me thus.
I have specifically checked on hybrid Battery life and only become aware of one to have been replaced - after the vehicle was fished out of a river.

The subject of RX400H batteries ahs been done to death on here - search and you will see. The Battery is smaller than on other models and in some circumstances does drain. There is no space for a larger one and Lexus has long abandoned finding a solution. Only affects a small number of cars if left pout of use for a 3 weeks. If a shorter period is involved then it is likely a car-specific problem.
The hybrid batteries have an unknown life, none have been known to fail.

It is useful reminder and nothing is obscured that matters surely and affects your driving. Fill it every week regardless and the problem will not arise.
Press 'display' on the steering wheel restores what information there is sufficiently to check anything - if it is necessary which I doubt.

Take it back to the dealer that did the work if you believe it is that.

Scrap yard though their estimate of time to fit is probably right.
£110 for the unit does not seem excessive though.

Take it back, it is under warranty.

At ten years of age, it is past its so-called 'design life' and so some failures are inevitable. All cars develop faults but if you have enjoyed trouble free driving for the first half of its life that is acceptable. If you buy second hand then you are into the second phase of its life.
-
You won't find any similar history of troubles here.
Maybe change the dealer not the cat?

I prefer to start with the dealer price to see whether any sort of search for spurious parts is worth the effort. IS this in fact a Toyota part rather than a specific Lexus? That could open more doors.

Lexus dealer price?

First fixes are always the cheapest available...

Only if you are clumsy with it.

Wire coat hanger?

Neither really, the under slung LEDs is better but it seems unnecessary to add these. I cannot say I like DRLs anyway.

Just switch it to 'ready' - a normal can discharge in such circumstances.

Entirely correct, I find the Sheffield Lexus dealership to be excellent for service. I have used them for 15 years and they are more than willing to help or do minor things without charge if I turn up.
