  1. Hi I am involved with a Jaguar specialist and we buy , sell and maintain Jaguars both young and old.I have recently treated myself to an SC430 and can confirm it is my car of choice. On Friday I delivered a XK8 Convertible, a journey of 100 miles and apart from the stunning engine note, I was delighted to get back in to my Lexus Good Choice. regards Tel
  2. Hi I have decided to sell my MK4 LS400, it really has been outstanding and I would like to thank everyone for there help. I won't be going far, just around the corner to the SC430 forum ( I think I have had a late life crisis )So will keep my eye on what is going on. Regards Tel
  3. Hi Just come over from the LS400 side. Is there any way to upgrade the sat nav to accept postcodes? Regards Tel
  4. Hi The voice of doom again. The chap selling the Lexus has stated he has money problems and as such has cut back on servicing. I think the last service was at 70,000 so no service for 25,000mls. factor in well over £1000 for service and it is not that cheap. Buyer beware. Regards Terry
  5. Hi We are Jaguar Specialists here in sunny Somerset. We made the mistake of buying a low level flood damaged Jag.....Never again..... The biggest problems will be with the wiring. The ECU's demand micro volt accuracy to operate as designed so any deviation due to corrosion or damp wil upset this. The problem with this is that it can occur many months after the vehicle has been re assembled. You will have no warranty or goodwill with Lexus due to the nature of the damage. The seller on E-Bay is chancing his arm and in my opinion wants far to much for a vehicle that has been an insurance total loss ( For whatever reason ). Don't forget at some time you may wish to sell this car and I think you will find your market severely limited. Fault finding on a modern car will generally necessitate the use of a dedicated computer, if only Lexus have them you can only imagine the cost's involved in the on going problems. I hope this helps. Good luck Terry
  6. Hi I am trying to buy a SC430 and am amazed at the prices. 2001 38000mls FLSH £6800. Do you think with the fuel prices and the way the country is that the prices will drop even more? Regards Tel
  7. Ooooops. just as well I didn't do my "Whats the question to this answer" "***** robbin" Joke. I in no way wish to be rude or offensive, but the phrase "Get a life" springs to mind Regards Tel
  8. Dear CB1300 I find it infuriating that people purchase these iconic automobiles and then have no idea as to the time and life long effort our oriental friends instilled in this product. If you look at the quality, dimensions and exact positioning of this tray you will or should understand its primary function. The rear part is exactly moulded to accept the Revell Batman Utility Belt, complete with the Robin vassaline holder. Just forward of this you will find room for your full European touring kit complete with the two sleeping bags to smuggle Bosnian terrorists in. The forward part of the tray is designed to take your L.B.K. yes you Lexus Breakdown Kit. This will consist of a single 30A fuse to be used in the cigar lighter circuit as I have found, getting a cherry glow on the end of a King Edward necessitates several operations of the cigar lighter, a known Lexus fault. The fuse obviously will not blow, but after several years use, it is felt by them that know, the fuse should be replaced as a precautionary measure. Moving to the front we have the exact dimensions to accept 3 Tenna Lady Extra. This really is just over engineering as no Lexus owner would ever consider using more than 33% of the available throttle travel. Just a thought, does yours have the Rakoon fur lining? I hope this helps PS I am sorry this is in crayon, it is just that they won't let me have anything sharp at the moment.
  9. Hi Desperate from Bristol here. I have had my Lexus for 3 years, but have not had the courage to post on this forum, but know I feel liberated to ask all of the questions that have concerned me in the three years of Lexus ownership. So in no particular order: Can anyone sujest a cure as to the clicking noise when i indicate left and in fact right. If i disconect the battery it stops, but then so do I Will my Lexus go faster if I fit High Compression Tyres ( If yes where can I buy them ) What does 400 mean, and in fact LS My car has gold badges fitted, does this mean I have to carry on selling drugs. The man who sold me the car said the badges were Genuine Lexus and therefore solid gold should I inform my tax office I hope you can help Thank you Tel
  10. Hi Have just purchased a 1998 MK4 . I have a 95 MK3 and am wundering if there is a lot of difference? Regards Tel
  11. Hi There a cat specialists on the web that will sell universal cats for a fraction of the Lexus price I paid £95 each for the mid cats on my SL320. If you have a tame garage or someone handy with a welding set they can replace your cats and any damaged pipework. Regards Tel
  12. Hi Well everything comes to he who waites, or something like that. Am the owner as of Wednesday of a 1995 LS400 80K mls stamped history and all old mot,s Bodyhas a few battle scars, interiour is loveley in grey hide. 13. Hi Keep it comeing chaps. The info is all good. I have viewed 4 ebay cars, the description given over the phone would sujest most are traders pretending to be retail eg, wich car are you phoning about.............. On there description you would walk past there car in a carpark and noy recognise the pile of junk. The cars are cheap and getting cheaper, this isnt because they are bad it is because they are big, with a big engine. I have been talking to a friend who is the used car director for a large motor group. On tuesday the board decided to trade 327 vehicles all over 2500cc. So,,, I am happy to pay good money for a good car. I just wish I could find a good car Regards Tel
  14. Hi I realise times are tight and getting tighter, but does that mean the only people selling there LS400,s are, to be kind, less than hounest. I have been looking for about a month for a 95 to 98 LS400 with up to £2500 to spend, and all I have seen is rubish, that has no similarity to the advert. I realise £2500 is not a lot of cash, but in todays market I was hopeing to do better. Any help or advice realy would help. Thank you Tel
