  1. **Sorry - Any Willing... Hi All, As some will be aware i am having a nightmare with my headlights atm and having replaced the fusebox and tested the relay there is only one component left to check... the Headlight ECU. I know this is a lot to ask but is there anyone who would let me pop my unit in their car and see if the thing is broken? should only take about 10 mins. I think im going insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Well Sparkystav's fusebox turned up today and that is all fitted quite nicely, however there is still another fault somewhere... When I flick the switch the side lights, dash lights and buzzer come on (when door is open) but when i flick it to headlight they dont even bother... However the high beam work perfectly. So far i can rule out... Wiring Fusebox Stalk Switch Bulbs Left to check Theft Deterrent ECU Head Light Relay (however this worked in other IS200 a few days ago) Headlight control box... (think it's the black box in dash..) Anyone have any ideas over something i could be missing? -------------- It was Hyde motor co in manchester To be honest i seriously :tsktsk: off that this could pass through 3 different places and still be sold, although i think myself lucky that i cant leave the car alone else i would never have found out! Ultimately, the car drives like a dream and although its a pain in the rear it is not a massive job as it is a limited system.
  3. the car was MOT'd the day before i picked it up!
  4. yeah tell me about it! I can believe a car dealer hiding it and a slightly lower price to get rid, but what kind of automotive electrician would let that car drive on!!! Still gob-smacked that i havent woke up, looked outside and seen a pile of ash on the driveway. :tsktsk:
  5. Hi All, I have some none standard alloys which have started causing vibration, can spigot rings help me, if so can you advise me of which ones i need to buy? To be honest I though the break disk looked a little... off but I have no idea
  6. Close up pic of the damage and after checking around I found the bodge job plot gets deeper. The cable soldered to the relay went direct to the steering wheel loom!!
  7. hmmmm, coilovers.... been looking for some of those lol B)
  8. This may help in some form (use IE) http://bahamutcars.free.fr/workshop/IS_98-05/contents/index.html
  9. little video of the stolen car making down the motor way...
  10. Lol, He is starting his window tinting and wrapping business soon. Looks really good, when is he starting up? I wouldn't mind sending a box of bit to get done ;) I am just finishing his website and going live at the weekend, he did mine the same day.
  11. Wow, fingers crossed. Pm with price if you do. thank you
  12. Hi All, well after 2 days of hard core electrical repair I have fixed the Fuse box. However I now think the relay has broken... The high beam works, however the headlights and sidelights flicker. Does anyone know the symptoms of a bad relay or know if I am missing something? Second to that Lexus gave me a quote of £180 for a new box but I don't know how much the Relays cost?
  13. Lol, your telling me! Goes to show you need to check EVERYTHING now. Sneaky little bypass going on. :tsktsk:
  14. Hi All, so far I have been delighted by my Lex, however today I noticed the Auto lights where not working... ******** Now before I start I want to take you back to January when I found my Lexi on Auto trader. After speaking to the dealer and asking the usual stuff, he turned around to me and said, it has 12 months Tax on it because the previous buyer had walked away due to a lighting issue (which had since been repaired) Anyway, upon testing the lights... they worked, 12 months tax, 12 months MOT thank you kindly. ******** Fast forward a few months I had to flash some Chav for being a spanner and I noticed the high beam never came on. This is what I found when I took a look. So my Sunday is going to be an event filled one indeed sorting that crap out! I guess this is the water damage I hear so much.
  15. Yeah, good point, i would have to keep the key on me in case anything went wrong but i'm having that! For now though the simple version has only cost £10 to this point and works like a dream. Thank you
  16. Haha, you know that feeling when you just spent £30 know very well it is now a waste of money... My wife is going to go nuts when i smash another £200 on the credit card. THANKS SPARKY lol. I bought the system from the verso which had been totalled. however that start button and looks amazing. must have. Do you have any pics of yours?
  17. Yeah, that's right, I could bypass the immobiliser but then I may as well just leave my car on the street with the door open and key's in the ignition. The new stuff i have ordered replaces the Lex security and activates the button when i sit in the seat with the key in my pocket. It feels so good to start the engine it's unreal, I used the key a few minutes ago and it felt.... wrong. B)
  18. Ok, below is a quick vid of the thing in action. http://www.facebook.com/v/10150208374471381 And now to the instructions. 40 amp relay, start button, cable. THAT IS ALL I am however purchasing a transponder key which detects when I am sat in the car so I can bypass the immobiliser
  19. Driving to Huddersfield in a minute but if i had instructions it would have been done in about....30 mins with 20 of them being hiding the wires.
  20. Hi All, Well after 4 hours I have finally installed the push button start, I have not had time to upload the pics as I am shattered. but i was actually surprised at how easy it was. More pics and instructions to follows
  21. Hello... So, I was driving a friend home from work the other day when I decided to accelerate off the round-a-bout, after a few seconds I realised the peddle was stuck to floor. I immediately hit the clutch and break to slow me down (at this point hitting a ridiculous speed and about to enter a populated area) A brief look down showed that the mat had kept the peddle down, and I realised I don't have any mat holding pins.... Does anyone have any ideas where to get them? Something so stupid at a plastic pin could have caused some serious damage, kinda scary warning really. Dave
  22. Hi people, well after thinking I was about to lose a fortune in troubleshooting my steering vibrations and the fact it pulled slightly under light breaking, I noticed that one of the calipers had a sized cylinder. as you can see in the video below. http://www.facebook.com/v/10150205337541381 It took about 15 minutes to remove both cylinders, clean them and stick them back on the car. After a quick blast around the streets, the problem is no more and my wallet is going to stay heavier for a little longer. However now I need to clean the cylinders on the drivers side because they are slow in operating compared to the cleany ones.
