I need a center cap, as one has gone missing?
do I go to the stealer and get bent over as I cant seem to find much on eBay :(
-
cause i imagine it hasnt been changed and after 14 years might leak a bit.
preventative maintence, if i'm gonna change the gaskett might as well do the plug at the same time.
-
I assumed that the sub was the speaker in the center of the parcel shelf?
-
right Opie Oils has reccomended this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...atchlink:top:uk
not too bad a price
I've found and oil filter here:
http://www.boundville.co.uk/index.asp?func...p;productid=699
so all I need to find is a new sump plug and gaskett, should I just get one from lexus?
-
kewl gives me something to do this weekend :D
-
thats good, panic over :)
-
On looking at the oil its due a change.
Which type of oil and filter is best for the ls400?
Also, I might as well replace the sump plug and gaskett at the same time, where can I get one from?
-
yeah id agree, its just been through an mot, you;d think they would mention something
-
Dont worry, I've only had the car a day so know zero about it :)
it looks like a hand brake light, but what does the low brake pads light look like?
edit, looked in the owners manual and its deffo a p in a circle so parking brake.
-
well I have the car, its in good nic but needs an oil change its only done 10k since its last service but it appears that the last one was in 2005 >_<
so will do an oil change this weekend, how much oil does the car take and of what type?
-
Hello,
My hand brake light never goes off, any ideas why?
-
here's a shot of the hose:
-
I just find it strange that the car just dumps the condensation out of a hose?
I can understand condensation forming on a pipe, but having a pipe that directs the condensed water onto the ground doesnt fit with the cars image?
yesterday it put out quite alot of water, so much so that it formed a small lake.
-
eek elephant have bent me over :( will be cancelling the policy asap when I find someone cheaper
-
yeah I drove the car around for a good hour or so with the air con off and the hose didnt drip at all.
when it is on its a drip every 2 seconds, continues for a while after as well?

Hey guys just picked up my ls400
there a couple of small issues, the most concerning is that there is water (its not red so prob not coolant) driping out of a hose that is not going anywhere?
its down the o/s part of the engine, close to the o/s inner arch , i've felt around the area and there isnt a spout nearby?
I'll post some pictures in a bit, but its concerning.
Luckily I can take it back to the dealership and prob get my money back.
Does anyone know where this hose should go?

I'm collecting my first Lexus tomorrow:
93 LS400:

2 owners cambelt changed at 120k,
new mot,
new tyres
and a new coolant sensor
all for £1695 :)
Heres hoping it lasts longer then car number 6 hehe.

the thread was inspired by the "things you never knew your car could do thread" on pistonheads,
with that in mind I do't want to wait a couple of years to find out some kewl features of the car, so any tips you lovely people can give would be useful!
-
I'm hopefully picking up a 93 ls400 this weekend, so I am interested to hear what people like about the car,
It can be anything :)
-
hmm suppose its only and extra 100, hadnt thought about the windscreen replacement.
How would I go about getting the car valued?
-
Im undecided whether to go fully comp or tpf&f as the car is only worth 1700 and I wouldnt claim if I did break it.
what do you guys think?
tpft is £643, fully comp is £740, I wonder if I could use my mustang owners club a plan discount on this car..
-
Mines quite expensive atm, 600 odd, driving 5 years, 23 almost 24, 2 years ncb.
Its not bad for the type of car but not amazing.
