  1. Hi Pete, I followed the guide in this link (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/329133-check-vsc-vsc-off-9.html ) and received the VSC 51 error code, which I then tracked down here (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/477707-display-says-check-vsc-codes-are-39-and-51-a.html ). Is there anything else you recommend to extract the error codes? My car seems to be running fine, and on reading the information floating around, if its just that it takes a bit longer for the o2 sensor to read, that seems to be okay from what I can tell, but then that's only based on my feeling of how the car normally runs. Who knows whats really going on in there? On a related note, I rang Lexus Croydon today, to be told the hourly rate for labour is £186. I nearly fell off my chair. Would you be able to post any part numbers for the o2 sensor? I'm happy to buy them and get a local garage to install. Many years ago I swapped my rims out, and the set I got weren't the same. They looked great, but it wasnt original. The pro was that it was very quick and the car was basically back with me within an afternoon. The con was that the rims had changed to an aftermarket set, which looked a bit different. I think a few days wait to retain the originals seems like a good outcome, if you can wait that long. Thanks, Rob
  2. Hi Pete, I have similar small jobs to do with mine. I've owned this ls for a bit over 4 years now and really love it, but am moving on (another topic for another day). I want to refurb my wheels, and also have the same VSC error you describe here. Another poster very kindly pointed me towards this thread. If I can ask, would you be able to provide advice on where to get the correct sensor (any part numbers?) and where to refurb the wheels? If you could post up details in this thread, that would be really helpful. Many thanks, Rob
  3. Hi All, I'm looking to refurb the 5 spoke wheels on my 2005 ls430. I don't want the mobile repair (had this done once many years ago with a different make / model of car; never again). Any suggestions / recommendations for a company to do the work? I live in Sutton, so maybe somewhere localish if possible. Many thanks, Rob
  4. Hi All, So my ls430 has thrown up a check VSC code today. I've gone through some diagnostics, and found it comes back with a VSC 51 code, which apparently is bank 2 sensor 1 (looking at the car it appears to be the bottom right 02 sensor). http://www.fixya.com/cars/t20791346-replacement_p0051_lexus_sc430_oxygen http://www.fixya.com/cars/t20791326-replace_p0051_oxygen_sensor_b2s1_2005 I've been looking at repairs, and the above suggests simply replacing the sensor will allow the voltage information received to correctly read, and therefore it wont throw the code when doing system checks. Apparently the sensor is about $US40, so not a big deal. So here is the query I have: q: has anyone had this and had it repaired via any localish / chain garage, or did you have to go to Lexus to get it repaired? Thanks, Rob
  5. I'm in south London, in Carshalton. I had a chat with Croydon Lexus, and thy will only sell the centre caps in a set of 4, for £77. Wheels in motions sounds great. I've done a search in yell.co.uk but cant find them. Do you have contact details for them please? Thanks, Rob
  6. Hi All, The time has come to sell my ls430, and the clowns I've been dealing with have been ridiculously overpriced for what they want. I have 4 wheels that need a refurb, I need 4 new tyres, and 1 centre cap. Can anyone offer a solution that doesnt cost the earth? I'd like to retain a stock appearance, as the car will be getting sold next month one way or another. TIA, Rob
  7. Hi All, I have standard lexus wheels, with 225\55\17 Dunlop SP Sports 270 tyres. The wheels are slightly scuffed, and I want to get the car looking perfect for resale. I also need \ want to replace the tyres, as per my last service. So my question is, do I 1 get the existing wheels refurbed, and buy 4 new tyres, OR 2 buy a set of genuine wheels from someone off a forum (here, ebay, etc). 3 I've seen what looks like a swap out facility on ebay which seems ok. Around £250 for 4 wheels, and you send yours back to them. I want the car to be completely genuine as per factory, because I'll be selling it in a short while to head back to Sydney. If anyone is offering any GENUINE wheels for sale, I can be contacted through PM. Thanks, Rob
