  7. The MOT did mention the bottom ball joints so they may need changing. It sounds like its coming from the back though.

I found ball joints for £32 + VAT but thats without the arm. Does the arm have to be changed?

The backing plate on the drivers side rear disc is loose to so ill check that first.

    Thanks for your help guys

    Jason :P

thanks mate .dam they look gud.hope some turn up

  9. lookin gud.thats alot of power.

so you put a new engine in and then supercharged it ??

    thanks

I have been running a s/c for nearly 2 and 1/2 yrs, but from a stock ECU. produced around 270-280hp like that, but never gave me true performance due to ECU not being upto the task.

Installed complete standalone ECU which after mapping gave me net result of 300HP+

Look in my garage to see all my engine mods.

do u mean garage in tezzaworld? cant find it at the mo.

    thanks

  10. alright just wondering is the exhaust on the is200 the same as the altezza because iv been lookin at some.

Hey , i could be wrong but check the bottom ball joints, they tend to go! another fella there sounds like he has the same problem, Take off the wheel , ul see if there is movement in the hub up and down, could be that.

yeah thanks m8.i had my cambelt done yesterday and i asked him to check it out and he said ther is movement in both front ball joints.any idea on a price?

  13. Hi, I made a post recently about the fact that I have to pay £300 a year on my Altezza which was first registered in the UK in June 2007. I contacted DVLA and this was the reply:

    Thank you for your email.

As your vehicle was first registered in the UK after 23/03/06 and it was recorded as having CO2 emissions of 244g/km then it would fall into Band G which is £300 for the year.

    Regards

    Miss Layla Lucas

    www.direct.gov.uk/motoring

How many of you have Altezzas registered after this date like mine as I know some of you do? I am not going to quote this site as my source, but I'm not happy I have to pay this ridiculous amount of road tax on a car made in 1999 that does not benefit from any technology that could aid in CO2 reduction, but I am not going to let this drop.

So I am going to do some research here and also contact some import companies and find out what they have to say on the matter.

Thanks in advance for your input.

thats total bolox.it should be 99 pound for 6 months.unless your car has a problem with emmisions and when it was tested it came up with high emmisions.

it should be that much.mine was registered in the uk in june 2006.

  14. MacRS200 Where are you

    I'm here Gord.

The point is that the VVTi does not kick in like VTEC, it works all the time.

The CamCon can change the valve timing and the AFR to give better mid range torque. Max power is for "willy wavers" the area under the torque curve is what counts. The higher and flatter the curve the more "boot up the bum" you get.

If you stay with standard inlet and exhaust then the standard ECU will do the job, go for an induction kit and the standard MAF will not give true AF readings (according to the stuff I have researched). Try a search on altezzaclub.nz for "pod filters.

Mine has an induction kit and decat on the zorst and the CamCon sorted out the lot. If you go for boost get a Power FC that can do a lot more but what else do you want to change on an N/A car?

p.s dyno says estimated 220Bhp at the fly from a 200Bhp engine but it pulls from 3500 rpm now instead 4500 before.

sounds gud mate yeah i just want a bit more pull.3500 is alot better yeah seems to take ages to kick in around 4500.thanks for your help.

is it easy enuff to wire the power f.c in or is it a harness that just plugs in i read?

  15. hello just wondering iv seen a few products and just wanted to know what you can actually do and how much difference they make to performance.

iv seen one called cam-con and the apexi power f.c.

so how much can you alter the vvti to kick in ? can u change it to kick in around 3 000 rpm instead of standard.

    any one help ???????

    thanks

  16. Hello peeps,

this will be my first post to these forums. I recently picked up my RS200 which I have learned today from these great forums that it is also a Z edition, so happy with that.

Anyway, something I hadn't thought about when doing some research prior to buying my tezza was road tax. I see on the tax disc paid for by the previous owner whom I haven't been able to speak to about it yet, shows that it cost £300 for 12 months. At this stage I am glad I have 10 months left to run, but also makes me think I might sell it on in 12 months time...

So, if some of you peeps can enlighten me as to why this might be, I would be extremely grateful. BTW, more questions to follow most probably :winky:

alright m8.i got my rs200 about 3 months ago and it had 6 months taX SAYING 100POUND.SO SHOULDNT BE 300 A YEAR.U WIL AV TO CHECK THAT OUT.

  17. welcome to the site mate. lovely car. Amp and sub can be easily added to the standard headunit, but you need to buy a line level convertor which enables you to take the wiring off the woofer part of your rear speakers and you connect them to the covertor which has 2 rca plugs, which you can plug into an amp and then your sub into your amp. makes sense? Not the best setup sound wise but simple to do, convertor is available from Halfords or ebay

ok thanks m8 might try that. i would put another head unit in but i like the 6 cd idea.

do you know about the cambelt tensioner if that has to be replaced when cambelt is replaced? cheers m8

  18. hello yeah i just brought my altezza rs200 i love it to bits.drives superb and is very quick.

just got a few questions if any one could get back to me ???

can you wire a sub and amp throught the standard altezza head unit ?

and i have brought a hks timing belt from japan and was wondering if you have to change the tensioner aswell?

just added a few better pics!! needs a clean.
