I have a cd i will have a look tomorrow
It would be nice if you find it :) I wonder how to remove parking sensors and lamp washers.
Cheers.

Hi Tango, thanks for clarification, I will visit body shop in the nearest future,
ask for advice and hopefully solve that painful problem soon :)
-
so it happened to me, got hit :( two day ago I left my car on hospital parking near some crappy vehicle
and when back noticed scratches on the right side of front bumper (see attached photo)
Luckily, if there was any lack :tsktsk: , no dents or any mechanical damages are on the bumper
but part of paint is removed in some points deep to plastic. Plastic car parking sensor cap was affected as well.
(car needs to be dirty now, scars are less visible then, so appologise for not preparing it for photo session :))
now it needs rapaint. My plan is instead of taking all car to the garage and leave it for a couple of days,
remove the bumper myself and give it to them.
My question is... did any one of you removed it yourself or knows the answer how to do that, any tips?
I did some research on internet and found one picture describing, seems to be pretty simple:
...plus disconnecting the grill... fine. I have some experience in small lip removal, did it when changed it for spoiler - simple.
But what about parking sensors, are they attached to the bumper permanently, is it all about taking cover cap off?
I also wonder how to remove headlight washer.
I would be grateful for your help and any suggestions. I remember someone here on LOC had it painted and put clear bra (was it Tango?)...
Thanks for help in advance.

anyone know if u can get lexus oem mudflaps for the220/250? and also if it can be color coded to the car??
Hi chandru,
I have got mudflaps on mine Cadoxton Slate and did not need to paint itas they are made from high density
plastic which match car colour pretty fine, cost unpainted approx. 80GBP.
You can have them painted at local lexus dealer for additional cost.

I quite like the look of the Sussex grey leather trim but was wondering how well this worn over time. Anyone with any long term experiences. Im especially interested in any discolourations or wear around the drivers bolsters?
Thanks
I have Sussex leather in mine, and like its look too :) car more than 1 year old, 20K miles done so far and no problems at all, looks as new. I wear mainly jeans and no signs of blue on my seat.
I cleaned it just twice during car exploitation using some Supagard stuff.

Hi gib,
I have got TRC, might be an option for you. Bought it from manufacturer, germans - TRC, directly from their web page.
Don't remember the cost, approx. 200 Euros.
Not many people have it, different from what Lexus offers.
Personally I wouldn't buy stuff like that from eBay,
True - not much choice when you live in Europe :(
regards,
Marcin.

speaking about the VSC...
I was driving back home, luckily was few miles away, when suddenly a few warning lights lit up
along with "CHECK VSC" message
When car is in "Ignition On" mode or engine is running I have VSC message, "Master warning light" (red triangle)
and "Malfunction indicator lamp" on (yellow engine or transmission sign).
According to the manual it could indicate malfunctions in engine control system, throttle or transmission control.
Has anyone of you ever experienced anything like that, or any expert here have any idea what could go wrong?
Would be grateful for help :)
Car is one year old, almost 20k miles on the clock, wanted to do 20k service next month,
regards,
Marcin.

I like the front lip. Did you fit this yourself? where did you purchase it from?. not to keen on the rear lip spoiler on how it dips into the badge - is it colour coded?
Fabulous lip is an original japanese part, so it's pretty hard to import it to Europe, as any part not manufactured in Europe (plus long waiting), I have same problem with ordering red-outs, can't find any company supplying it to us
Couldn't contact Fabulous directly, ordered mine lip through TRC as well.
Fitting the lip is dead easy, did it myself. Need to unscrew two sides bolts and seven brackets/clips, remove original Lexus small lip, fit the Fabulous
and use same bolts/clips for fitting the Fab. Took me about 20 minutes to install.
Japanese lip fitts really well, holes are drilled in exact places, and there are not gaps after the install, solid as hell.
It's made from good, high density material, originally it is not colour coded, can be ordered painted (extra cost for painting and purchase).
How to install shows attached photo (taken from Fabulous manual).

The fact that your interior mirror stopped vibrating could mean your sub-woofer is not working. Mine broke after a few months using it, so they replaced it under warranty. You can check easily if you put on a track with a lot of bass and then go to the boot see if it is vibrating. Otherwise check each individual speaker in the doors. It might me just a loose connection when they put the dash back together.
yeah, it seems middle subwoofer is not working, but there is sound coming from it, might be not much of bass.
I was at Lexus today, according to them, they did not play with sound system but agreed to take a look at it
next week. I have check all spaekers - same sound in all speakers.
I was brave enough to do the squeaks fix job myself, removed two clips, refit the plastic around clocks glass cover and no rattles
any more Proud of myself!
-
So this is my story...
I left my car for a few hours in local Lexus dealer here in Poland for dashboard rattles fix.
It supposed to be easy job as I was said they dealt with that problem in dozens of cars, and knew where the problem was.
Just need to replace old clips with new ones and thats it.
Needless to say just after I left the place and drive away I noticed that ratttles were still coming out from the dashboard (sic!)
It was late that time and I didn't have time to go back and complain.
Said to myself "fu*k it" :tsktsk: and did what I usually do in that case, turn MarkLevinson system on and keep it a bit louder...
and then... sound which was coming out from the speakers was completely different from what I used to listen just hours before.
It is not so dip, clear, now it seems to be muffled, no clear bass
Previous when I set the loud at 35 and played my tracks (good quality MP3s with high kbps) my back interior mirror was vibrating...
now its not any more - proof that something is wrong.
I have checked all sound settings, all is as I left it. Played CD, radio and iPod... in all cases sound is defenitely not my old ML.
I wonder what they could do doing their job without any supervision etc.
Did they mess with speakers, ML system itself? Was it done intentionally, maliciously?
and finally - am I paranoid???!!!
Truth is you never know who plays with your car when you leave it.
Is there any easy way to do some checks before going to see dealer again,
probably there is not...
Do you think is it possible to change speakers, replace some parts or it could be mistake made by mechanic?
GPS, rear camera, park assistant - all work fine but just sound it the problem.
I would be glad for any suggestion, please help :o
regards,
Marcin.

I like your cars... Scooby looks fine next to IS :)
-
Hi Lars,
Car looks really nice...
good photography skills as well :)
-
would the paint job finish be like painting any other parts of the car? i.e. panels/spoilers etc? am i right in guessing the parts are "plastic"??
apologies for late reply....
yes, flaps are plastic, made from pretty solid and high density material, so no worries about any scratches :)
I assume, as any plastic or carbonfibre body part, there souldn't be any problem with painting it, its quailty and longevity.
I advise you visiting Lexus dealer and ask about it, they definitely offer the painting for some extra cost.
-
....stunning....
-
anyone got any pics of 2nd gen is with mudflaps in a color other than black? do u know if lexus could paint the white mudflaps to the same color as my car n would the paint "last on it"?
yeah... Lexus can paint the white mudflaps any colour you want...important thing is that the flaps do their job perfectly, car is much cleaner on the bottom part now :)

Looks bloody spanking! Nice work....
We also have the Baranusa, love em. And it's time for new tyres, so the toyo's have made a real difference in noise? I hope so, as the Conti's we have at the mo are driving me mad now they are at the end of their life...
yeah... I have to admit that I love Baransu's! Seems to me toyo's are really quiet but... not very good recommendation for them as
my driver side rear tyre went flat yesterday... I caught nice, sharp screw and can't fix it today. It's bloody bank holiday out here
For the time being I replaced it with my winter setup with stock 17" wheel. Took the picture, good one to see the difference between two wheels...
-
nice work mate. got the 18 hoshis on mine with toya t1-r's too. good combination. just wandering bout your mudflaps. do they come in just "plastic" black or are they available in different colors painted? thinking of getting some mudflaps and spoiler.
AFAIK flaps are in two colours available - plastic black and white (80GBP front and rear set) which can be easily painted any colour you want.
My are not painted and match cadoxton perfectly, work fine with velvet black as well.

Hi all,
I have just made some changes to my car :) It's the beginning but wanted
to share pictures (side views mainly) ... comments highly appreciated :)
So car is lowered on H&R springs now, 35mm in comparison to standard IS250 suspension,
with 18" Baransu wheels. I have decided to go for Toyo Proxes T1-R and noticed
significant change in road noise which is now much reduced.
As for the ride quality, the suspension seems to be a bit stiffer now but for sure
I can't notice any loss of comfort. I am glad about my decisions so far, as I have to admit
I was thinking a lot :D
I absolutely love that setup.
I am still waiting for some body parts supply since January and can't wait any longer
Next step - exhaust :)

Hi all,
I have bought lowering springs (H&R, 1.4" all around) and wanted to install them today
at my local Lexus dealer. As they have never done it before , were not sure to install the springs
new set coilovers and shock absorbers were needed.
I told them that I would do my research (which means I ask you chaps :) ) to make sure
as I knew it was needless.
So my question is whether or not I need new coilover,
I have IS250 SE-L, not the one version with sport suspension.
Thanks for any reply!

hi monkeyboy,
I am lowered on H&R springs, 1.4" drop, for about two years now with approx. 30k miles done using them,
no issues at all. I have done just normal geometry alignment.
You will be happy same as I am :)
