Hello everyone. I am looking for some help. I have just taken livery of a NX450h+ in azure blue and while loving it I am still getting used to it idiosyncrasies. Overall the car is incredible. Now I know this is third world problems but when the rain was coming down I pressed the boot open symbol on the key fob (after I pressed the unlock button) as I walked to the car to offload golf clubs and it simply double beeped at me and refused to open. This was working just last a few days ago when I first used it but no no more. Has anyone encountered this? I have tried a few things to no avail. Any ideas what the double beep means?

All help and ideas much appreciated as this is driving me crazy!!!

Make sure that the lock switch  on the door isn't on locked. Thats the switch  thats beside your window switch's

I too ordered NX 350h with premium pack  just before January price increase, to keep price just below£40k. I have been told by dealer, and after contacting Lexus via chat on one of their on line media blogs, that this price will be honoured on collection  (August / September is rough estimated delivery) and that the luxury car tax will not be payable.

see discussion (it was a bit drawn out!) here https://mag.lexus.co.uk/new-lexus-nx/comment-page-6/#comments

Hi could you possibly put up the direct link so it's easier to find the exact comment regarding luxury Car Tax.  Thanks

So having spent best part of £50k on a car we are worrying about the cheapest way to charge it up..... if you want to save money, maybe buy a cheaper car?

I will probably get a ban for this but well said Ian. And they even complain about the Free charger/grant. But I suppose they think the are saving the planet. I fill my UX250h with petrol and I know I will get roughly 400 mile till I need to fill up again. No plugging in umpteen times a day/week. Yes I have had a NX300h then downsized to the UX250h now I up upsizing to a RAV4 HEV

    Good evening all.

Quick question on the luxury car tax on new cars with a list price over £40k. ( applicable from the start of the second licence -currently an additional £335 per year on top of the normal rate for the following 5 years). I have negotiated a deal on the new NX350H with a list price of just under the 40k threshold. I understand Lexus will apply a price increase across the NX range of approximately £1500 from January 2022. The delivery time is estimated for July/August 2022 by which time the new  prices will be in effect.  My understanding is that cars with a list price of over 40k at the time of first registration will be liable for the luxury car tax. So although I will pay less than 40 K for the  car, by the time it is registered next year, the updated  list price will now exceed this figure & so luxury car tax will be automatically applied. Have I interpreted the rules correctly? if so It looks like this extra tax will now be applicable to even the base NX model going forward 😩. Thanks in advance.

Has this post gone slightly off topic, Steve was only asking a simple question which many of us are also wondering about. You order a car that is under 40k list price at time of order which is a fixed price, but before you get the car the manufactures increase the list price to over 40k. Lexus knew full well that the cars wouldn't be registered before the price increase. So you have a car that you ordered and payed for under 40k fixed list price remember. but the government use the new list price. Am I right or wrong

Unfortunately, he is wrong. E-Four is an option on ALL UX models, even the Takumi spec.

I think it was said earlier in the thread that the AWD option on these is a gimmick. I am a sales exec for Lexus and I will have no issue telling my customers this. It will make the car heavier, more expensive, worse MPG figures and is basically redundant. This is not an off road vehicle.

This also means that you will be able to buy a top spec UX Takumi with a paint option and it will fall under £40,000 as long as you dont spec E-Four...which you don't want to!!

Could you be wrong  Anon, as you said in another post it 100% wouldn't be priced over 40k which it is once you tick all the boxes,  But is it as  UX F SPORT with takumi pack which gives you E FOUR   comes in at under 40k  Perhaps it depends if it's UK spec and prices or other countries your referring to.

Alan, having previously owned a GS450h which was very torqey and fast 0-60 in 5.9secs, my last RX 450h didn't quite match that, so when i read that Lexus were introducing a turbo charged NX, i knew instantly that was for me. I am sure the NX300H will be equally good, but if you like a bit of fast driving like i do sometimes, i guess the 200t is the answer.

    crossed wires somewhere
