  1. Love the front bumper, I really want one of those :-) By the way, i sprung a leak in my rad too just under 2 weeks after supercharging (I have pics but i maxed out my upload space ) but it was worth it. Where did you get yours built? I want one too. Could you send the contact info for that guy please? He does good work :whistling:

:offtopic: can anyone tell me if the IS300 rad will work/fit on an IS200? I have been looking at a few for the IS300 but im not sure if they will work with the 1G-FE. I have easier access to IS300 parts over here. If i can't get one built like Rolex i may have to buy one of these.

i drive an auto if that makes a difference

  2. I changed mine just yesterday. You may have to remove and swap the accelerator pedal cover and pins as the complete IS300 gas pedal is bent differently to the IS200. A direct swap wasn't possible with mine. Of course, i found that out after i removed the whole assmebly thinking it was going to be a direct swap :crybaby: The break pedal is bent differently as well (assuming you got this off a USDM LHD is300 like me) but luckly you just have to remove and replace the rubber cover for that :shifty:

  3. Thought i'd show you guys the reason i went to the Toyota Sprint Series yesterday :D

Apart from a good day out watching the racing i went to pick my Supercharger kit up from Bazza :D

And this morning it's had a bit of a clean B)

    DSCF2156_edited.jpg

Nice and shiny, and still i've got a couple of bit to finish off before i fit it :D Going to give the s/c another going over to see if i can make it a bit brighter and top up on the work that Bazza had allready done, and top left of the pictures shows one of the manifold covers that i'm in the middle of polishing!

What do you think guys and girls? :hehe:

And a BIG Thankyou to Bazza and Janey for yesterday and for letting me have his pride and joy :D

That's just a georgous looking charger there!! i'm not a fan of bling but i'll have to make an exception in this case.

I want mine to look like that before i install. what did you use/what do i need to do?!!!

  4. Hi i'm looking for an Aluminum gas pedal that comes with the sport package. Over here we only get the is300 version and that doesn't fit

anybody with the is200/altezza version for sale?

  5. Ok here's the situation. I'm currently using the TRD suskit (the yellow set) and i love how the car handles. However i busted up the front driver side on an pothole :tsktsk: a few weeks back. I didn't realise the damage until my last checkup so now it has been bleeding for a while. Needless to say I'm in the market for a new set

1st choice was to just pic up another set but that has to be shipped from japan and could cost close to 3000 US. so i'm willing to entertain cheaper :winky: options

Now i'm looking for the same level of performance of the trd set, comfort is not really an issue cause i'm used to the stiff ride

    i found these

Does TTE have anything that's a viable substitute?

Haven't considered Tein cause i read a few reviews and heard a few nightmare stories, but i'm still open to hearing other's experience with them

    Advice/opinions welcomed

  6. Your after the same effect as i am. I hav the same "success criteria" as you do. you've come to the right place. these guys will help you with all the information you need.

you're asking the same questions i did when i started. Seeing as i'm about 80% done with purchasing let me tell you what i'm been thru so far.

    1. locating a mercedes m62/supercharger. i suggest to try to get this first before u go buying all the other stuff. you don't have to get a merc charger, but it would make things alot less complex if you plan to buy everything else from TTE. they pop up off and on eBay over here (the US) so shipping it was free for me but that is the only advantage about being on this side of the atlanitc when it comes to this.

    2. all other TTE stuff. even though the kit is discontinued, they still have some of the componets in stock. So far i've ordered most from tte, (piping, etc) though u don't have too, u can do alot yourself if you know a good fab shop. Besides, shipping these items from Germany to the US costs alot so I chose to have the throttle body adaptor custom built. some parts are harder to fabricate cause the info is not readily avaible but Chris and i are planing and project as we speak that would make at least the TTE cradle dimensions alavaible. As soon as we're done we'll post the findings

    so to sum it up based on my experience so far i chose this;

    Intercooler/merc charger/ tube adaptor. all bought/modified/built locally

    shipped from TTE

AM 27927 tube, I/C to inlet manifold

AM 27958 cable, compressor bypass spare

    AM 27939 tensioner belt

    AM 27935 pulley

    AM 27963 support compressor bracket

    AM 27928 tube compressor to I /C

    AM 27959 housing, compressor outlet

AM 27966 extension,P/S cooling tube bracket

AM 27929 valve, assy, bypass, cable operated

    AM 27964 stay, compressor bracket

    Trying to build

    AM 27717 bracket, compressor

AM 27930 housing, bypass to compressor

    Still to buy

    AM 27936 ECU extension

    AM 27960 bracket, airfilterbox

    AM 27931 housing, airfilterbox

the "still to buy" section are those parts that can be subsituted. The ECU for example, TTE's price is the same a buying the eManage ulitmate over here, so i can get alot more features for the money but the tte unit is easier for a novice like me to install. also paying a pro to configure the emange may not make it worthwile but i'm still thinking about it. Prolex has a neat induction kit that works instead of the airbox that will give some more power but it will be louder, not something i really wanted (extra noise) but at the price its hard to ignore.

then you can always turbocharge instead, you'll still keep the lexus features working but that is another story...

So from one noob to another, feel free to ask these guys, they know their stuff.

  7. Do you have a TTE kit that you upgraded? chose to use the ProLex induction kit instead of the TTE airbox for more bhp? Or have u increased your pulley size for more boost? The TTE ecu had to make way for A bigger and better Piggy back? What ever it is, I'm willing to purchase your used parts if you don't want them anymore. I need them to complete my kit

I'm looking for the Airbox, Ecu, and cradle first. if you have anything you wish to part with post or PM with your asking price and we'll talk.

    Thanks

edit (sorry Moderators this was supposed to go in the "wanted" section, feel free to move it as you see fit)

  8. Hi again

Just updating. I'm now into the final stages of the build. I ordered most of the piping from TTE except for the Intake manifold, which i chose to fabricate locally. As pre Rob's suggestion, i let a fab shop drill the holes required to modify/disable the magnetic clutch on the used mercedes m62. I have some pictures of that i'll post later.

Which brings me to the topic, does anybody have detailed dimensions for the tte cradle? Gord was helping me out (thanks again Gord!) but the car is too far away for him to get the details for me right now so if anybody else can help it will be greatly appreciated.

still shipping is the valve bypass and charger inlet housing. i think it would be simpler just to by those rather than a trial an error approach. as for ecu, its either the Emange ultimate, (Stav, i'll be in touch) the new tte silver box or the hKS fcd. still weighing the cost /benefits of those. Also i have a water pump pulley off another 1G-FE and im going to use that for now. its 120mm dia so i should be safe(?)

on another note, i'm considering buying a used TTE airbox and cradle from anyone that has upgraded their charger kit but i'll post the details for that in the buy and sell forum.

As always, any info/suggestions are welcomed

    cheers

  9. Ok i got a Mercedes m62 (thanks Carles) but there is this clutch cable(?) attached. the pulley spins freely without turning the rotors. From my research, i think this the cable that activates the magnet that binds the pulley. So does anybody know disable that or rather enable it so it works just like the TTE m62 version?

    thanks

  10. Update.

So far things are progessing slowly but surely. I spoke with TTE and i've made my 1st shipment with the following

    AM 27928 tube compressor to I /C

AM 27927 tube, I/C to inlet manifold

    AM 27843 tube, bypass, 38mm

    AM 27959 housing, compressor outlet

AM 27958 cable, compressor bypass spare

I know alot of the first order i probably could have made myself but i really like the TTE logo on the 38mm bypass piping :-)

In my next order i was thinking about getting the ecu extension, valve bypass assembly, cradle support for the compressor and AM 27930 housing, bypass to compressor

Anyways, I'd like to try to fab the compressor support cradle and the throttle body adaptor. I spoke with a local shop and they said it would go alot faster/smoother if i could get the mesurments rather than taking estimates and trial and error fitting on the engine and the supercharger hasn't shipped just yet (eBay usa off a slk230 with clutch) so i can't get it from there. Does anybody have/know the exact dimensions of those parts?

Also, the ecu extension thing, is there a good subsitute for it that isn't too complicated to install or should i just stick with the tte one?

Another thing is the pulley. I got an extra water pump pulley off an old 1G-FE and was hoping to use that. Is it the same size as the TTE pulley? I don't want to mess the size up and send a rod thru the side of the car...

    all info/suggestions are welcomed. thanks

  11. dont know where u have your info from but it is incorrect. the MB supercharger does have the correct size pulley - i can only guess you are looking at the newer MB units which are fixed drive with a small pulley and not the older units that use a clutch and a larger pulley.

The older units are the correct versions to buy.

ok so you get a supercharger for a gm etc then have to spend x amount of money tryng to source a nose drive, and then send it over from the US (which will not be cheap)- it doesnt make sense. i would source a nose drive first or at least get a cost of the drive unit of the correct extension.

i have seen many superchargers of the correct type on ebay that were not too expensive - what prices have you seen?

I think I'm not wrong, the oem MB Eaton M62 diameter pulley is 100 mm. and the TTE is 110 mm.

    The year/model MB with M62:

    Mercedes C Class C320 2001-2004 3.2L V6 M45

    and others cars

Thanks Carles, this info is proving really helpful in my search. Sorry i didn't get back to you sooner. So far i've found a couple of chargers that look just like ours on eBay but they haven't specified if it's an m62 or m45. so i was wondering is there any danger in using an m45 rather than an m62 (boost/heat/bhp?)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-Su...sQ5fAccessories

    Also they're insisting on a core return and i shouldn't bid unless i have a core :-(.

Another hiccup is the tte airbox. Can't seem to find a used one of those anywhere, but that wasn't a surprise, i don't expect people to be throwing that out with the garbage anyway.

    I'll keep you guys informed.

  12. Hi

Need some advice. I may be able to obtain the TTE supercharger kit will all the bits and pieces(, piping, cradle, airbox, pulley etc) everything except the compressor itself. I was told it's just an eaton m62 and locating a used one on eBay isn't too hard. That's true (i've found alot) but the snout assembly doesn't look anything like the TTE version (much longer) and the pulley size looks wrong too. So is it possible to change the snout and pulley on a used one so it matches the TTE spec? and does anybody know where to get the parts to do this?

Google isn't doing a very good job in assisting at the moment

    Thanks for the help

  13. Good day, I'm new to the IS and i was thinking about atempting the same (finding an alternate charger and getting the other parts made)Trying to ship a kit from germany (if they still have  ) to the US is just too expensive to be worthwhile. I thought about turbocharging instead but i prefer a bolt on option that doesn't require modifying internals and too much guesswork. :whistling: How's this option going? i saw a few eaton m62's on eBay but they were for a pontiac or something (the snout looks alot longer  ) Does anyone have the assembly instructions/specs for the tte charger kit so maybe i can start tracking down the intercooler, pipework and maybe the pulleys? Also i like the oem look the tte air filter has. does anybody have a used one they're willing to sell? :shifty:

    Any advice would be appreciated

I have a 1G-FE RHD IS200 SE with the TRD circuit suspension coilovers and i already upgraded the brakes.

    Thanks

  14. Hey

I got my is200 ('03 sport?) about 4 months now (my 1st car and dream car too  ) its been fun to drive so far (and the chicks love it B) ) but now i'm getting a whistling/sqeaking noise from the rear. it sounds like break pads but i get it even while driving without appyling the brake sometimes. Unfortunately is200 parts are not as readily available here (i have to order) but they said the have pads for the gs300.

    so three questions

1 is it the break pads making the noise or something more?

    2. can pads for the gs300 work on an is200?

    3. If i have to upgrade, i like

    these

    and are they any good?

complete newbie here so go easy on me

    thanks!
