  1. Contacted the local dealer before Christmas about mine. Currently have the 2004/05 version in the car (can check via the main menu for the date of the DVD in the car). Thay have a 2007/08 update DVD for £120 (inc VAT) and they would put it in (IS300 has the device in the boot by the spare wheel). There are quite a few new roads around where I live and they said that if it didn't have these new roads I could have my money back if I wasn't happy with the coverage. Worth a try and still cheaper than a Tomtom.
  2. Just had a chat with the local Lexus Dealer and they said there are/were no software updates for the ECU on a vehicle with the age of mine (2004 54-plate). There have been some but that was on a more recent model. I've still got cover so if it happens again I'll take it into the garage and get them to have a look at it and let you know what they say. Sorry not to be of more help. Laters. Dave
  3. Hello :) Just registered today and thought I'd say hi here in the newbie space, having already made a few posts on the IS200/300 forum. Got myself sorted with a 2004 IS300 (on a 54-plate) just before Christmas and loving every minute of it so far. Already done 1500 miles! Was looking for a 330Ci or Cd for a while but saw one of these, went for it and have definitely made the right choice. You get so much for your money (mine has the SatNav option) and hopefully the best reliability around - if you can go by the JD Power results. Had a few calls to the local dealer so far and they have been excellent. It’s certainly fast enough and makes a great noise - and if I want to go faster I can just use the bike instead - when it's not raining or icy :D Cheers, Dave
  4. Thought I'd put a quick note on to say that I've just had exactly the same issue with my IS300. On Wednesday and today tried to start the car to go home after work and it just wouldn't go first or second time. Then caught on the third go and was fine. I'll give Lexus a call in the morning and check on the ECU update situation - it was bought and serviced from my local garage so hopefully they'll know about. Cheers, Dave
  5. Things don't seem to be that different for an IS300 (auto) if you don't go bonkers! I've only had mine for a few weeks but already done 1500 miles - and still smiling B) So far I'm averaging 26mpg on the work run - 11 miles on single A-roads and 40-60mph, and around town. Did manage 34mpg over Christmas on a long run - motorway at steady 75mph which I was really pleased with. The last tank went a bit faster though - just having too much fun so I don't care. Loving it.
  6. Hello everyone, I'm new to the world of Lexus so just having a look round and thought I'd say hi :D Got myself an IS300 just before Christmas and absoluted delighted with it. So much car and nicely understated. Hadn't even thought of a IS before (was looking for a 330Ci or Cd until now - or shouldn't I say that on this forum ;) ) and went to a garage locally to look at another car for a mate - saw this pristine IS300 and two days late it was mine. Still smiling all the time when I drive it. Been reading up about the cars and if I'm right the book says the cambelt should be changed at 100,000 miles so the garage were right. Hope this helps. Cheers, Dave
