  1. John i think your average is pretty good at 40mpg to be honest, it all depends if your doing Town or Motorway miles. I have a 2006 IS220 and mainly do Town driving, i am only getting 29.6 at present with steady driving. Had the car 2 weeks now. One thing that was recommended to me was to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery, this seems to have improved things slightly and i have also noticed that the cold start idle isn't staying at 1100 revs for as nearly as long. You may want to try it if it gets worse. Not sure if any others on here have done the same thing and seen any noticeable improvements ??? Regards Dale
  2. Matus, What is AVG and how would i go about resetting it? The car has just had its 64k service so all really should be ok. Thanks for the replies guys.
  3. Hello all, I have just purchased an Is220d SE Multimedia 2006 and am very pleased with the amount of comfort extra's that it offers. One thing i have noticed that would never have thought to consider, is the MPG with the car. I was running a VW Passat 130 Sport and getting around 48Mpg. Having picked up the car yesterday and driving to work and back which is a semi rural journey, round trip of 30miles and driving like Miss Daisy, i noticed a return of only 25.6 and a tank average of 26.9 !!! Is this normal ? Does the car have a defect that can be easily sorted ? It drives smoothly, no judders or roughness with the engine. I am praying this isn't something i am going to have to live with. I have searched this site and read the stories of people not achieving the 44.8Mpg expected and actually getting mid 30's, i could live with that. Can anyone offer any help or advice ? Do i need to have a longer run or just give it time ? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
  4. Many thanks for the comments, would be nice to see the top end price, maybe a couple of hundred on top to start with. Do you think that would be fair?? It really is a nice example
  5. Hi people this is my first post so please be gentle, apologies if this is in the wrong section. I have owned my Lexus since first registered by Lexus Dealer back in 2000. However the time has come to upgrade to a larger family mpv unfortunately. I am really not sure how much its worth and what to put it up for sale for and what to accept for it, Wondering if any one could give me a ball park figure??? Its an X reg model with 57,215 miles. The first four services have been done at the Lexus dealer and then 3 of them at my local garage. I have all the reciepts and service history with all stamps. Previous MOT's I have just put 4 new Avon tyres on and the interior is imaculate. Its silver in colour with no marks, its a beautiful example with the Genuine multispoke alloys from lexus. Front and rear discs and pads done 10,000 miles ago and serviced 2,000 miles ago The interior is black half leather and suede. Tax untill the end of April and MOT until Nov 08. Any comments really appreciated, Cheers Dale
