  1. having sold my 1998 facelift ls400 last loctober due to being given a company car 330d bmw ,i never got over the lexus , anyway cut a long story short a mate of mine who owned the lexus ls430 was driving about 60mph on a motorway when his car cut off (no warning no oil light ,no overheating )called recovery who tried starting it but wouldnt turn ,had it taken to garage who tried to turn the crankshaft manually but wouldnt turn all siezed needs a new engine the garage says , my mate has just bought the new ls460 and has sold me the ls430 couldnt resist it!!!! anybody know anyone breaking a crashed lexus ls430 with a decent engine i have had a very good quote for a recondition unit for 2k with 6 months waranty wich i think is very resonable ,has anybody encountered any major problems with the 430 engine as i have known these engines as being bulletproof ,it has 160k and has been regularly serviced at lexus ??//
  2. hi iqbal, just recently joined loc ,i currently have a 1998 s4 ls400 i think that a feels more respnsive compared o the s3 due to the vvti engine ,xenon lights are reeally good ,vsr, factory sat nav (which im not a huge fan of ) other than that the suspension feels simular to the s3 quality of leather feels alot lofter ,exterior wise i think the s4 looks alot nicer facelift front end and polished alloys , overhall a refined car ,i previously had a 1996/n s3 which i thought was perfect but the series 4 goes that little bit further with the added bonus of these creature comforts ! hope that helps nadeem .
  3. hi just joined ! have been a huge lexus fan ,just bought a 1998 ls400 ,having simular clonk noises front the front suspension thought an mot is due and the tester should pick the fault up ie upper balljoints,(replaced lower balljoints before mot ) control arm bushes , but they seemed ok so visted my trusty lexus mechanic and he advised it may be the shock absorber bushes ? just ordered a new set of front shocks as the old ones starting to bounce a bit will let you know if that has cured the problem .apart from that exellent car ! :D
