  1. <_< hummm interesting.... my windows were tinted by the dealership when i got them (i own a '99). however, only in the summer have i noticed that my windows dont close when i tell them to. when i roll them up, they hit the top and then immediately come right back down. i always thought that it was because the rubber seals are expanded in the summer (more so than during the winter) and because of this, the windows dont align well with the groves at the top. maybe the tint increased the thickness of the windows ever so slightly and it made the problem worse??? so did replacing the master switch resolve this issue? hummm.... interesting....
  2. <_< Humm... I have a '99 and it wasnt till after this past winter did I start to notice this too. I sometimes watch the tach. when it happens. When I let go of the accelerator, the tach. drops really low then goes back up. I know this is normal to some degree, but I feel a very noticable jolt every time. We should inquire about this with the dealer
  3. The lexus manual in the glove compartment should contain a list of services and its details. The 'fluids change' is listed a among the items but what fluids is left out. You would probably need to ask the service tech for that. Maybe the lexus service/repair manual would specify that. Im not sure and not willing to shell out a few hundred $$$ for it either. Ive heard of people heading to toyota dealers for oil changes but I havent heard of any going there to do a major service.
  4. The option to change it from military time is done via one of the black buttons near the LCD. I forget exactly what order you need to press the buttons to get to the option but scroll through the available options when changing the clock and I'm sure youll find it. If youre still having problems let me know, Ill run out to the car to get actual instructions.
  5. Maruzo, [i know this is a little off the subject] So what exactly does the 'extended warranty' cover? Is it EVERYTHING that the original warranty covered, with just the mileage being extended to 100k? Or are there other 'little things' removed from the original warranty? My warranty is about to expire in a few months and Im wondering if I should get the extended warranty. Plus are you in the US, or do you know if different countries/dealerships offer different warranties. Im on a lot of other RX message boards and I dont think anyones ever actaully gotten the lexus extended warranty. Thanks much
  6. If you havent figured it out yet... There should be a button that says 'Clock'. Press that and it shoudl bring you to a screen where you can adjust the hour and minutes etc via the buttons near the LCD. HTH
  7. If you think the $350 is expensive... wait till you hit higher mileage Checking things yourself/changing the oil yourself isnt bad, but make sure you keep the receipts and stuff for the oil changes since if anything goes wrong with the engine they will want proof that you changed your oil on time. Now that my warranty on my 99 is running out, Im gonna just get oil changes from them for $40 (and have them log it in their system) and do the other stuff myself. The only thing youll probably not be able to check is the ECU computer codes etc. But you could if you get the adapter and software (Im still looking for this stuff myself).
