i started this post so may aswell tell you what av got now................ jag xj8 4.0 mint condition 71k full history ls400 better on a very long STRAIGHT run but otherwise...especially on looks the xj8 wins by a huge margain

the ls had a more superior feel in a straight line and for silentness................. but i feel more at home in the xj8 and at the risk of annoying anyone......................the jag looks so much better

traded in my lovely ls400 for.................. a 1998 jag xj8 4.0 v8 had jags in the past and to be honest thats where my heart is.

just ordered the wipers from www.wiperblades.co.uk got my TWO and 3 for missus's focus all bosch for £ 27 vat and delivery included

just been to halfords to get new wiper blades for my ls400, not in the flipbook so i asked the 12 year old on the till, he put my car details into computer and told me they are a special order, ok i said tell me the price ............. £9.95 his reply, i asked each ? he replied oh you want two ? !!! i explained as basically i could that the car has two wipers so yes please young man i would like to buy two ! he played on his computer then told me as its not a common car they will have to order it. ...... it i asked ? yes he said it.. we can only get you the drivers side one we dont supply the passenger side one. ok ok get me the manager, manager comes over and plays on computer then tells me the boy is right. they can only get me the drivers side one. i think this is a very strange situation ?? looked at them on evilbay the sellers state different sizes for my 1996 ls400. anyone know the correct size ? and has anyone experienced this at the largest car accessory chain in the country ???

just out of intrest........ what cars did LS owners own before you became LS owners ? hera are my previous few cars: 1990 jaguar xj6 4.0 2002 mondeo tdci zetec 1988 bmw 750il ( showroom condition 63,000 miles which i written off ) 2000 saab 95 2.3 turbo 1996 LS400 ( present car )

hi folks, i am the very proud owner of a ls400 p reg, promised myself one for years and now finall got it, best car i have ever drove....... now you probably thinking am in the wrong section but am not and this is why.................... my dad is now ready to change his car. jokingly i suggested a ls400 but he says its too big.... i agree as his driveway would not accomodate one. i have now got him considering an is200, he likes the look of them and i have spotted a few on autotrader. he will pay a maximum of £5000. and wants an automatic, i have stressed he should get one with service history, apart from this we dont know what to look for. is there anything in particular he should look for ? is there a certain model or year to avoid ? what year/spec can he expect to get for £ 5k ? many thanks twin ps after this i wll bugger off back to my ls400 forum and leave you alone

sorry if i sound dumb........ but i have a 1996 ( april ) ls 400..... an amazing car ,the best i have ever drove, and my previous cars are bmw 750il,,, jag soverign 4.0, jag xjrs 6.0,,,, bmw 740i (4.4v8) saab 95. . 2.3 turbo (sorry)..... what mk is my ls400 ????????

looks great in first pic...................... please get it back to that look.................. it looks awful on 2nd and 3rd pic ... not really what lexus are about, lexus spend millions developing cars for comfort handling luxury etc..... i dont think you are better equipped than lexus so please put it back to its original beauty............................or buy a citroen saxo to pimp

just done my blowing exhaust... was blowing at front where the y shaped piece meets the cats at the join. bought a tube of quick steel off ebay for a tenner used it and hey presto silence again

thanks. i seen the affected area and can see the problem which is a gap where the 2 parts should meet. just been reading about a product called quicksteel.... any one know if it works ??

my exhaust is blowing on ls400 1996, posted about it yesterday but only got silly answers which is not really why i joined this site. had it looked at told need 2 new cats and next piece back which is a y shape, got quoted £ approx 800. does anyone know of a cheap parts supplier that could help me ??

went away in my 96 ls400 at weekend, 300 mile round trip. i am thrilled with this car...............................but when i got it back...... i have got a blowing from exhaust my silent car now sounds like a chevvy

so why did you buy a lexus ? what did you own before you bought a lexus ?........... i had ( over last 5 years ) jaguar xj6 4.0 ..... great car but was old and costing too much mondeo tdci zetec....... 55mpg but a ****ty ford bmw 750il..1989 one owner totally mint 72k miles .. i wanted it for 8 years but he would never sell.. he finally sold it to me in sept 07 and i wrote it off in march 08 !!! felt worse than when my marraige failed.. bmw 520i se ..............**** !!! saab 95, 2.3 turbo.... great car but i wanted a big engined luxury car...................................... av got it now...1996 ls 400. 127k, full history mint condition and what a drive.... av never drove a car thats so quiet and smooth, i cant tell when it changes gear . what an amazing drive. tell me yours ??????

aquired a ls400 year 96 last week, unfortunatley ive not got an owners manual, does this model have a fuel computer to tell me mpg etc ???? if so where is it ?

collected my ls400 today, took mechanic with me and he said ......buy it. so i did p reg 127k with history eventually paid £1450. what a drive it knocks spots off the jags and 7 series i have owned

what checks should i do ?? its on autotrader website ?

i have owned jags and a mint 750il bmw { which i crashed } now i want a ls400, seen one on autotrader and i want it,,, its a 1996 with 127k, looks mint and at £1,700 is it a good buy ????
