  1. The noise is the pump which pressurises a nitrogen-filled accumulator with brake fluid.

When you brake the pressure in the accumulator is used up.

Once the pressure drops far enough, the pump runs to re-pressurize the accumulator.

If the buzzing is loud, it may be because the pump's rubber mounts need replacing.

If the pump operates more than once every four or five applications of the brake, the accumulator may need replacing.

Thats an excellent reply :) Thanks very much.

From reding thru, it sounds like the accumalator knackered then.. As the pump is working nearly constantly without me even touching the brake pedal..

It's just buzzing at 1 second intervals... If i push and hold my foot on the brake pedal it then buzzys constantly for around 8-10 seconds then returns to the 1 second intervals, and i can feel it pulsing thru the brake pedal ...

Does anyone know if he accumalator for a GS300 will fit ?

    Cheers

  2. Hi All

I have a 1991 Toyota Aristo.. I have had it a couple of months now and over the last month the suspension has become really wallowy and crashes over potholes and bumps.. It seems to sit very low as well.

I have noticed that the suspension has some electronics attached to the top of the struts. What sort of suspension does the Aristo have, is it air or gas suspension? Does it just need a recharge, or are my shocks knackered ?

    Thank you in advance.

    WODJ :)

Only the four wheel drive Aristo ZiFour V8 had air suspension.

The electrical connections operate the Toyota Electronically Controlled Suspension (TEMS), which stiffens the damping when the Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT) is set to PWR.

The TEMS shocks can be replaced with normal (GS300) shock absorbers.

    Cheers Dude :)

So it looks like there Knackered then :(

So anyno know where teres a set of 2nd hand decent GS300 shocks going for a reasonable price ? :D

  3. My gamertag is Alfiedog.

Oh sorry I have the Xbox 360. Better than the PS3 which is trying to be too many things instead of being good at one of them......

Oh dear this is beginning to sound like a 'I hate Lexus cause they're c**p, and instead of driving a 2.5 V6, I have bought a BMW 318d, which is I am desperately trying to make it has been a good purchase etc etc etc' type thread.

Anyway whose on the 360, lets start a proper online GOW2 session.

GOW2 - Gears of War, for all you PS3 owners.

Also have a 360 :D But its so noisey and over worked ! The PS3 just takes it in it's stride, and actually looks good aswell :)

Also have a Wii, PS2, PS1 and Chipped Xbox .. Oh ! And 4 PSP's and a Nintendo DS between Me the Mrs and 3 kids :P

  5. I have always used hand hot water all round the car .. Not boiling :(

    Between warm and hot :D

I've used this method for the last 20 years and never had a screen crack on me ..

I would however say, that if you already have cracks or major chips in your screen ? Not to use this method.. I don't know for sure it would worsen the crack or chip ? But logic says theres a good possibility it would ..

If you do use this method, do not use the water sparingly.. A whole kettle sized jug should be used for the front screen.. This is so the you do not just melt the ice, but also raise the temperature of the screen high enough so as the screen does not re-freeze.. Wipe of the excess with your wipers once all the water has been used .

  6. Hi All..

    New here on the Forums..

    I own a Toyota Aristo Vertex 1991..

I have owned it around 2 months now.. I purchased it of an existing member of the club, but i don't know what his Member ID was :(

I have had quite a few issues with the car since i have purchased it.. I would like to try and find out the ID of the previous owner so i can search on the forums to see if any of the issues were apparent before he sold the car to me..

Anyway, i have a good look round the site and seems a very pleasent forum with no Argy Bargy that you find on alot of other Jap Forums :(

Looking forward to my stay :D

    Cheers

  8. Hi All..

Can anyone point me to a how to ! On removing the rear door cards on a 1991 Toyota Aristo.. My electric window seems to have come off it's guides, so i need to get behind the door card to tyrying and rectify the problem..

I seem to have nearly removed the door card, but i'm sure there are some hidden screws or clips somewhere .. And i don't want to pull on the the card and end up breaking the securing clips and screws..

    Cheers

  9. Hi All..

    I have a 1991 Toyota Aristo..

I have a buzzing noise coming from the engine bay that i can here from inside the cabin.

The part in question that making the buzzing noise is at the top left handside of the engine bay, right up near the bulkhead. The part has a rubber covering over it and is cylinder shaped. When you take the rubber cover off underneath is a gold colour cylinder that seems to be some sort of motor. It buzzes for a few seconds then stops for approx 1 second. It continuosly does this ? It seems to be connected in some way to the braking system, because if i push my foot down on the brake pedal and leave it there, i can feel the pedal pulsing under my foot in time with the motor that is buzzing..

Any help would be much appreciated ..

    Cheers
