How much did they charge you mate? I have Hoshi 18's on my Lex, I spoke to Prestine in MK and together with new tyres they want a GRAND! :-/ I think price per alloy was 73 + Vat or something like that.

When I bought my IS250 the guy who previously owned it clearly wasnt the best at parking. I have heard a few nightmare stories about people that come out to fix them at your house etc but i need to know if anyone has done this and what the result was. Oh, and the price of course Thanks

Ha! They do.. They are pretty good but everytime i call them to get me a price they say they'll call me back but have never done so! Quite annoying.

Search on this forum for "Sat Nav hack" and you will find a detailed guide on how to do it. You actually don't need to hack the sat nav anymore as buying a new map disc will allow entry while on the move. But the hack can be used to enable mp3 browsing, phone dialing and DVD playback while in motion. So will buying the new map disc allow all the new options to be operational whilst driving? Also, the new map disc...? is that from Lexus or a third party? All I want to put to a load of MP3's on a DVD not CD and have 100% access to them whilst on the move. Thanks

I went from an IS200 and wanted to get an IS250 but as i couldnt find the exact car i wanted i.e. Auto, SE-L, Multimedia, PCS, I couldnt be bothered to wait until I fould one so I got a BMW 320si on an 06 plate.. First of all I loved it but it took 4 months to make me decide I never want to own a BMW again. They are so boring its untrue... So I traded it in and got the IS250 that I wanted in the first place! I can safely say it was the best decsion I've made in a long time! The IS250 on an Auto with MM and Mr Levinson's 14 speakers make this car absolutely amazing! I love it!

My car idles at about 1300 and it goes down to 1000 after a minute.. I let it sort itself out before I drive anywhere..

I have a some coils packs that I bought for no reason not so long ago. Let me know if you need any and i'll sell them to you. Cheers Al

ok, found out what the problem was and I have got a distinct feeling that not a single coil pack needed to be changed! This stupid mechanic after changing 4 coils found a large semi circle shaped object in the tray under the engine. Not knowing what it was he decided to put it on my front seat. When I went back to see him he said that he thought it had come off another car and landed on my tray. I said that that was hardly possible as this object was bloody big and not to mention quite heavy. Anyway..............5 coils later, £461 I've found out that the semi circle thing was actually my crank pulley torsioner. It split in half leaving on half on the tray that caught it and the other still on the crank causing the car to seriously vibrate when the accelerator was pushed due it being unbalanced. This mechanic has just removed the other half telling me that my car is now ok! After quite a while talking to him he still wont budge on the price i've paid for him to actually do nothing at all. He said that he cant get the money back on the coils (which is not my fault at all) and even if he did it would have cost me roughly the same amount in labour as it took him ages to find out what the actualy problem was (still not my fault)! So, if anyone had a spare crank pulley torsioner (I know people usually have loads of them lying around lol) please let me know as I'm in serious need of one. Also, does anyone know what the implications of not having one are as my car seems to run ok without one?

Thats exactly what I thought! I spoke to a friend of mine who works for Lexus and he said he's never heard of 5 going like at once! The mechanic attached a computer to it and it bascially gave him loads of errors. I explained that I was told by a previous mechanic that coil pack 4 was gone. When i tried to change coil 4 with the new one the problem persisted. So I tried to change 3 instead. That didnt fix it so I tried changing all of them. That was what caused all of the errors.. He cleared them all and tried it again to get a clearer reading and he said 3 of them had gone! When I got there he had changed not 3 but 4 AND all 6 spark plugs! He changed 2,3,4 and 5! He said that it was all running ok now but number 1 wasnt great!??? I tured the car on and the problem was still there???? Now he has ordered the 5th coil pack to replace 1. I've got a funny feeling thaty he'll replace that and it still wont get rid of the problem. You can clearly feel the car misfiring so its gotta be that....right? I havent done any cleaning or anything in the engine. Should I ask the guy for what codes he is getting then?? Surely he should know? So far I've paid £461 with no result?

Can you believe that after turning my car off when running probably the best it ever has been and getting back into it 5 mins later 5 coil packs all blew?? WTF is that about??? I was slightly annoyed about having to pay nearly 100 quid for one only to find out 5 have gone!!!

Why do you think that is?? The IS200 is such a lovely car and you get so much for your money! I saw one the other day for sale at £2800 is it looked stunning! I really dont understnad why they are hard to shift. I think I will have to drive the 300 and make my mind up from there.. Seems like as soon as i do the decision will be made for me..

Hi All, I pondering with the idea of part ex'ing my IS200 for an IS300.. Anyone think its a good idea? Reasons for doing so: 1, My car is on a 99 and i want a newer Lexus.. 2, The power of the IS200 after 2 years is kinda bothering me now. 3, The IS300 seems so much better than the 200. 4, Trading it in for an IS300 will probably only be 2k on top? Worries.... Fuel consumption... Its probably the only reason why i'm worries about the swap. Anyone got any suggestions? Also, what else about the IS300 is so much better that the 200. Just want to see if i know most of the answers? Thanks All

lol 2 fuses for one stereo... I should have guessed! ok. i'll have a look and hopefully get it sorted..

Hi All, My stereo, wing mirrors, and clock all went at the same time?? Does anyone know where the fuse that controls all these are? I did look in the engine and my stereo fuse was ok?? Confused.com! Thanks

I read that link aztecbandit1 suggest i read and it didnt seem to help much.. The wires from the passenger seat in my car (non electric) compared to the driver seat (electric) are exactly the same?? The only difference is on the passenger seat there is a white clip the it quite large that my seat doesnt have the cable necessary to fit in. I'm hopeing there can be some sort of converter to get it going? Thats obviously got to be the problem. There is a yellow clip thats fits with no problem.. Not sure what that is for? Anyone else knows any more?
