  1. IS200's are on the whole utterly reliable. However any car with 120K on the clock has had a lot of use, servicing in the UK isn't that bad for a luxury vehicle but you do get what you pay for i.e. buy cheap get cheap. Have you checked out the insurance on the IS200?

Your budget in the UK would get you a 2005 model. I can't believe they cost so much in Australia, I will tell my sister as she is moving there in Nov. to take up a language teaching post in Brisbane.

On a different note...she'll love Brisbane mate. nice city, bit hot though but Gold Coast makes' it better.

WoW...that air box looks the deal. i wondering about the power output on those ones.

  3. Think i've waffled on a bit, but once i get "in the zone" i can't stop typing lol

No worries mate. I totally understand. As far as I am concerned I think you've already answered your questions. The new job sounds a bit more appealing. The good thing is that in a smaller company you will get to be noticed for your hard work easier than a big company. I've workd in few big and small and that is a general rule. Altough there are some exceptions. However, if you think that the new job offers more and you can actually get somewhere, just get it and don't look back . If it doesn't work out, well...it seems that you're smart enough to get another one that will suit you so never let anyone to crush you. (No, I am not a motivational speaker :D)

Do what you think is right for you mate. Give your self a chance. I went through the same thing. Got a position offered but I was affraid to take it. Than I find my self thinking that I was doing the same thing for like 2 years with no promotions or payrise in the cards. I was working my ***** off and all I got was: "Good job mate. Now about the project that's coming up...." so I got another one wich is almost perfect.

Up to you though. You know your situation better than me or anyone here, but my only advice is to trust your self and do whatever you think is good. Have a bit of cartezian thinking and you will be ok.

  4. I actually did get a new job offer elsewhere (but not from premium papers lol). I was headhunted really. I've already handed in my 4 weeks notice (been there 4 yrs), but they really want to keep me so they are offering me a new position and better pay. Although i have agreed to take the new job with the my new employer, i have yet to sign the agreement until i have officially ended my old job and tie up all loose ends. But im in a position to choose and bargin...do i keep my old job and get the new position or take the new job which at the moment is only a few grand more. Don't know what new pay they will offer me in the old job yet until this Wednesday. I feel so important at the moment as both places want me lol...just worried i will choose the wrong decision and regret it!

mate, i was in the same position as you in the past for few times. I think it comes down to you and what you want. get a piece of paper and put down the advantages and disadvantages of both jobs. take in consideration all factors like: What are the opportunities in both jobs (more money, moving up the scale, organisational culture, how serious is the company, any bad experiences with previous employees, MONEY again, the boss and so forth.). You mentioned that the new one is offering more money but what do you need to offer for more money? Also, is the new work environment better? is the new job really new for you? do you get more responsibilities? is there an opportunity in the new company to move up, or you will remain in the same position? Are you replaceble? Remember that if you're not replaceble than you wont move up... :D. Is it closer to where you live? You might get more money but if you spend that extra on petrol, it's not good. Is the new firm going to pay for insurance or any other expenditures from your behalf?

So it's totally up to you mate. I hope I didn't confuse you a bit more than you were.

    Good luck. Keep me updated.

  5. question is whats he replaced it with?!

Unfortunately he sold his IS200 a few years ago, but he's got a lovely white IS-F :)

The engine was used for educational purposes at Toyota Sweden. It hasn't been started, only disassembled and reassembled again.

Complete port and polish it and than forge the internals. That could turn out in a very powerful engine and very reliable. turbo it or supercharge it after that...then smoke anyone who stands in your way :))

  6. I like them B) really nice idea

car looks sweet what are your front headlights/side light/ fogs really like the colour of them

I am acutally thinking to make some small holes on the bottom of it, and install something like a LED strip that will give the true Audi style look. Hopefully it will turn out the way I want to...so I will keep you posted.

  7. I've had a hard time deciding which rear lights to go for. I've therefore ended up with five different pairs of which one is sold. These are the ones I've got left.

Yesterday I decided to make a somewhat useful contribution to this forum and those of you who wonder what your IS200s would look like with some other rear lights.

I put my camera on a tripod and had it take pictures as I mounted all of the rear lights, one at a time. I then spent quite a few hours making this web based, interactive rear lights swapper, using notepad and photoshop. Unfortunately my HTML coding skills aren't perfect and for some reason the images doesn't line up exacly as they should in MS Explorer. In Firefox though, it seems to be working :)

Here you go, please click the image to visit the swapper. Then click the rear lights and the rear fog lights to have them swapped and switched on.

    Cheers! :)

That's really impresive mate. It looks quite good.

  8. Got mine in today...they look great .I've install them too...wow they look awesome. I really like them mate. I will post a pic in few minutes

Glad you got them ok mate, i was a little worried about your sets as you had 5! I tried to package them up as best as i could

Would be good to see some pics though. :D

    click

They were very well packaged mate ...too well :D

  9. yes i have had this before with mixed up 1CO, what colour primer are you using? It will not dull down BTW

I used a transparent primer very good quality. After I applied a coat of transparent top coat, the paint got really close to what's on the car. I will se how it goes.

  10. OK, so I bought a grill few weeks ago and I thought it will be a good idea to give it a good silver paint (1C0). I went to the shop who prepared the paint for me, painted the bloody grill ...but guess what? it has a slight shade of green. the guy reckoned that this is the correct one. I haven't put the laquer coat yet but I was wondering if there is a chance for the colour to dull down a bit ...

Has anyone else here experienced the same thing?

  11. Went out to the car this morning & thought man it's dirty. Wasn't like that last night, then I clicked. Bloody dust from aussie has made it over the Tasman & landed on my car here in Auckland :excl:

If it wasn't raining at the moment we'd be getting some pretty spectacular sun sets to.

I pity the mess you guys have to clean up over there.

Sorry mate. I washed my car a day before that so imagine how I felt. Some more dust is predicted to come our way this weekend....so you might get some too monday or tuesday...so don't wash your car. :D
