  1. I went to my local dealer at Lexus Plymouth. They charged me less than the Toyota official website did! So no complaints there. £120 all in... As for the new disk.... Good point first, I can now enter destinations and play about with addresses, POI's etc. as i drive along which i couldn't do before. The down side? STILL takes me on magical mystery tours. I was in Bristol yesterday and it told me that a hotel i was looking for was at the end of a single track road, 3 mins later, when i got to the end of said road it transpired it was someones drive! 15 mins later, after having to call the hotel to verify their address, it took me down a road as a short cut to the main road i needed, the road name was correct, but it was a cul-de-sac, therefore not a cut through!! Plus, still no full postcode search, so finding a specific place at times, particularly an address with no number, you can only settle for a general area. not spot on to the address you want... Not impressed. Hope this helps....
  2. I have just been offered 4x Kumho tyres for £380 all in. But another company has told me they have Goodyear Fortera tyres that they can do for £400 all in. Can anyone advise me on the best option? I have looked at other tyres, Pirelli Scorpions etc... But i cannot justify the cost at well over £100 more than these two options. I need to go back to the two garages involved by 4:30! So quick responses would be great! Thanks Guys.....
  3. Thanks Normski, as much as i had a bad experience i hope everyone else doesn't have such bad luck!
  4. I bought one of these 2-3 weeks ago. Lexus offered to fit it for me at the equivalent of 30 mins labour (£45). I took it down to them one morning, it took them 10 mins to fit it and 2hrs 10mins to try and get it to work! 90 mins into their attempts to get it to work, it shut down my sat nav, climate control, stereo and heated seats.... This took 15 mins to put right again. Eventually after going in to the workshop and seeing them struggle to get it to work, i was so fed up (particularly as i had seen 3 Griffin i-trip autopilot's break in the last 2 months!), i asked Lexus to fit their official aftermarket ipod adaptor. After confirming to me that my ipod touch 2g would be compatible, they booked me back in a couple of days later to have the work done and as a gesture of good will, only charged me for the unit of £140, not the labour to fit it. To make things even more pleasing for me, although they took 2hrs 20mins to try and fit the GROM, they only charged me an hours labour (£90), which they would have charged to fit the official aftermarket one anyway. I have spoken to the very helpful gentleman who sold me the GROM from a company called Carputer.com and he is going to refund me and let the makers know what their interface did to my car and he has asked them to contact me directly, not that i expect any response. In summary: GROM system- Rubbish, and, more importantly, potentially dangerous to electrics in the car! Lexus official system- Is not as good as it could be, but gives me access to 6 playlists/artists etc with up to 99 songs in each. All i need really..... Lexus Plymouth- Very reasonable dealer, that puts customers first....
  5. I have got the impression from reading some of the threads that now 2 of my tyres are coming up for change, that i should be getting rid of the Bridgestone's and getting another brand! I have to say I am seriously unimpressed with those tyres, I don't hang around in my 400, so to have a tyre that can improve the grip etc is a must for me. I have prices from Kwik Fit of £127 for 2 Pirellli Scorpions. No price as yet for the Conti's that im very interested in. What would you guys choose out of those 2? They both seem to be getting good reviews... My last question is that if i have 2 Pirelli's/Conti's and still 2 Bridgestone's, im guessing im not really gonna benefit from the new 'good' tyres am i? Im pretty sure im gonna have to buy 4 together?
  6. Take a look at my other posting as I have just done the GROM AUDIO install on my RX! Thank you Normski, I'm still a little nervous about trying to take the units apart myself, but i really don't fancy paying the price of the GROM again on Lexus labour costs!!!
  7. Hello All, I'm new to this website, but already have found out so much useful information on my 2006 RX400h, this is a great forum. One of the things i found was a cheaper option for ipod integration. I bought a GROM interface and it arrived this morning. I am very eager to try it, but i don't have the first clue where to start in removing the stereo in my car! I have the Mark Levinson version. Can anyone help? Thank you very much....
