  1. Hi Fabben, Firstly, the most important advantage with the Lexus SE-L is the fact that the car comes ‘complete’. The extras on my Volvo totalled £7000, much of which, in part exchange, would be lost in the residual price. The Volvo I found was excellent as a long distance tourer and the 7 seats, larger luggage capacity and diesel engine economy, I am sure would be beneficial to many. That I am afraid to say is about the only positive comments I can say regarding my brief Volvo experience. The main Lexus advantages I have found are: Much tighter turning circle Power rear door Dedicated space for load cover under floor Touch screen Navigation, far easier to use than the ‘hidden’ steering wheel Volvo control Auto dipping and tilting exterior mirrors Sun roof wind deflector, none on the Volvo Ability to close all windows and roof by remote Ultra clear instrument display Superior build quality and after sales service Would I buy another XC90, not after owning a Lexus!
  2. I got my RX300 SE-L at the beginning of June. I have had a door seal replaced as I was getting a 'whistling' noise at speeds over 30mph. I also had a sun roof component replaced as I had a slight ratlle in the roof area. Had the car not been so quiet niether of these faults would have been so apparent. Being honest I would have to say I did not expect any faults whatsoever, but being realistic this is virtually a new model and my very minor problems were easily fixed. I would recommend this car 100% :D :D :D
  3. Yes, I received a letter from Lexus last Wednesday (27th) stating that there is a fault with the exhaust manifold catalytic converter which needs rectifying, although the only outcome is that a rattle may develop. :duh:
  4. I believe this is a tyre monitor setting switch, not a feature on UK spec cars. For the record, I would say that my RX300 SE-L is the best car I have ever owned. :) :) :)
  5. Apparently my sunroof needed to be 'initialised' which should have been done at the docks prior to dealer delivery. :) This has been corrected and is now OK. Unfortunately I also have a faulty drivers door seal which causes a very annoying 'whistle' at speeds over 30mph and a rattle from the sunroof. New parts have been ordered which hopefully should cure these very minor problems in an otherwise fabulous vehicle.
  6. The new RX300 brochure states that the sun roof has a one touch facility. The owners manual states that when opening the roof it will stop partway 45mm from fully open. Neither of these work. Also, both the main control and the tilt control work both functions, and the remote will not shut the sun roof, only the windows. Are there faults with my car or are others the same? My dealer does not seem to be up to speed with the technology of this new car. Howard East Devon
  7. Yesterday I took delivery of my new RX300 SE-L (Brechin Slate/Oakham Interior) and I must say what an absolutely brilliant car this is. The rear view camera in particular is tremendous. My first ever Lexus and immediately I feel privileged to own such quality. My thanks go to Volvo :D :D for not being able to fix the electrical faults on the new XC90 I purchased, not being prepared to replace the car, and lastly for giving me a full refund. Without these I surely would have missed a great experience.
