Tell the missus that an RS4 is no where near an IS 200 Sport. It might have double the power, but when it comes to ride quality, comfort, sharpness, it is no match to this refined piece of Nippon engineering. I don't understand how people continue to consider buying Audi's. They reall can't make suspensions. HAHA! I know , the is200 is my first decent car that i've owned and love it to bits. Just need to have an extra bit of power so she has agreed to improve the is200 instead as long as I don't go too over the top. Will get a supercharger and a few more add ons to get the car upto what I would like it to be.

I used 3M cutting compound for the front and rear lights and fog lights. Came up a treat. Protected them with Permanon surface treatment. Been over a year now and they still look good as new

If thats the case , what can I do to fix the problem. Won't look good if I'm trying to sell it

Hey guys thanks for the info. When do you think you will be taking your old coilovers off your car? Want to try and get everything done this month if the money lets me, more importantly if the missus lets me! HAHA! Found the discs and pads on E-bay. You'll have to search through quite a few pages but they seem to be a real good buy. Discs front and back drilled and grooved with mintex pads. Need to replace lower ball joints as one is knocking real bad. PLus need to get a new gear box as mine is whining alot and if I want to sell it I will need it fixing. Would love to get the car to how I want it before I sell it though or if I can talk the missus round keep the is200 and still buy a RS4 estate . We'll see.

I had Permanon done on my car. Had it applied 4 months ago and the paint still looks amazing. No more waxing or polishing. Works well on wheels aswell. Stops the brake dust from sticking so much. Just used a pressure washer and the dust flew off

I am looking to buy new brake discs and springs for my is 200. I found a full set of brembo grooved and drilled discs with mintex pads for 250 quid. sounds quite a good deal! Springs are another question. I would like to lower the car but have no idea which ones to get. Money is a bit tight so cannot fork out the money for coilovers. Any suggestions?

my odometer does not work . Its stuck on 74500 km but the trips work. I think the previous owner tried to tamper with it for some stupid reason. Can anyone suggest what to do as I'm guessing this could be an expensive job to fix.

Its a manual. I've had the transmission fluid changed but still the same. Will the red line knock out the noise? I still want to enjoy the car untill I sell it so am going to spend some money to improve the handling and performance. Have been in contact with some refurb companies. Can get a refurb gearbox for around 350 quid. Then fit it myself with a mate of mine. Will be cheaper than having a mechanic do it over here. Will cost me over a grand if I did.

Got same problem on my is200. Coming off motorway and you feel a rumble through the pedal plus the passengers can feel it. Had my front discs changed year and a half ago and nearly crashed as new ones were warped so garage changed for another set. Have checked the discs and it looks like the same problem. Looking into buying drilled and grooved brembos all round and see what happens.

I've asked about this before but wondered if anyone else had any solutions to fix the whining. It goes through every gear apart from fifth. Should I replace the gear box as it comes out cheaper then having it rebuilt? I only ask this as I'm thinking of selling my is200 at the end of the year.

Found projector Halos for left hand drive cars. Its on www.lextasy.com Its an American website and has a few mods. The projectors look good either in silver or black. I'm going to order a pair next week. Hopefully once fitted the cay will pass its MOT.

I saw a set of halo headlights on Ebay a few months ago and thought they were pretty good. Has anyone fitted them? These are the lights that have the halos fitted during manufacture not the ones that you buy seperate and fit yourself. They were going for around 200 quid for the pair.

Just fitted a japspeed stainless cat back box. Problem is the second stage that is under the car has a sensor fitted to it and the new system doesn't. Any one know if this sensor can be bypassed or shall I just leave it. Also anyone know of a good company that makes replacement cat boxes.

Anyone know where I can get hold of a workshop manual for an is200. I have a few problems on the car and would like to sort them out. As I havn't got a lot of spare cash I was thinking of doing the easy jobs myself with a mate who is a mechanic.

My exhaust has started making a right rattling sound, Sounds like the cat box but not sure. It really makes a noise when I'm revving the car and slowing down through the gears. Any one got info on this and where can I get a new one as parts are so expensive in Mallorca.

The problem is every part is a lot more than in England. TYPICAL! Plus all the mechanics want to fit thier own parts not ones that have been bought by the owner. Will source some in uk and get my mate to fit them. A lot cheaper paying in beer for fitting!

Since I got the car the car. Had it just over 2 years but never noticed it as I use the trip readout all the time

I've recently noticed that the odometer is not working. The trip displays work but the total mileage does not and is stuck on 75000. Anyone know what the problem could be.

My right front damper has given up and now have to get a new set. Anyone got any suggestions on what kind to buy. Got a quote from Toyota and they were going to cost me over 400 Euros. I would like a more sporty feel. Or would it be better to change the whole lot?

Just started to get a sound of loose stones from the center part of my exhaust. IS it the catalytic converter gone? Been to Toyota and got price of over 600 Euros. Is there any other place to buy one cheaper. Plus my right damper is leaking. IS it best to buy stock units or another brand . Its the second time it has gone. Any advice would be good.
