  1. Thats odd, in my Alpine manual it states that it needs a lead back to the Battery. My unit is a few years old however.

    @eddieblock

took me around 1hr to do my stereo, the hardest part is taking the cable out of the amp, once thats done its plain sailing. there's also a guide on here on how to remove the existing radio.

  2. After a long stint of never seeing one of these beasts outside of a motor show, i see 3 within two days.

There were two nice white examples at ten of the best and this morning i drove past a really stealthy looking black one.

TBH i they sort of don't stand out, as i was walking past one of the white ones i was thinking "a proper lexus not a diesel". Then i started wondering about the huge flared wheel arches, then it clicked.

Aside from IS-F owners how many do people seen out and about ?

  3. I think the audi drivers are taking away that badge of disgrace from beemer drivers. Most the off the trouble i find on the roads is some one in a VW group car, and it's always a 1.9/2.0 tdi :arrrggg-matey:

It's like there was a mass migration of muppets from the bmw to audi over night. (Except for 318i M-Sport owners, i still have trouble with them)

  4. I've been looking on these forums at the engine swaps that have been going on and its got me thinking.

Would the current generation GS300 3ltr V6 fit in the IS200 and allow room for the A/C ?

I haven't seen many of these engines around, but i'm wondering what the cost would be. I'd also use the auto gear box to keep costs down.

(by the way i wont be doing this myself as i'm pants at this stuff)

    Let the opinions begin.

    Taken from wikipedia

    The 3GR-FSE adds D4 direct injection. The 3GR-FSE engine is rated at 256 PS (252 hp/188 kW) at 6,200 RPM and 32 kg·m (314 N·m; 231 ft·lbf) at 3,600 RPM.

  5. Yeah that box is component only, i posted earlier on about the HDFury which has HDMI to VGA. I used to use a CYP UK HDMI to VGA box when i had a PS3 so that i can make use of 1080 plasma (only had VGA in for 1080). They dont appear to make that box anymore, i believe its due to the hazy area about the legality of such devices.

  6. If your tv has a vga input on the back you might want to look at one of these.

    http://www.hdfury.com/

This will convert the hdmi signal from the ps3 to a vga signal and you wont get these issue that you are having now. I have an older version and it worked great on my old plasma that only had a vga port for hi-res inputs.

I'd don't think its cheap, but its cheaper than a new tv and it makes it ready for any other HD source you might get in the future.

  7. I can recommend the goodridge hoses. I've had them on my car now for 2yrs. Also running DBA 4748SR grooved discs at the front with mintex pads. The car certainly has bite now and i never feel like i need more stopping power. It's probably a little over kill for a car running stock power, but i like it.
