  1. Hi all. This isn't actually a problem, but just a mod I'd like to do. All new cars now have the headlights turn on when the engine is running. I think it's a good safety thing, so I thought I'd look at making a mod so my car would do the same. I did think it would be easy. I was looking at fitting a solenoid in parallel to the car's headlight solenoid. Unfortunately it's not that simple. When I tried this it was causing a buzzing noise inside the car. Not sure from where, but obviously there was an issue. Has anyone done this mod to their car or know of a way to carry it out?
  2. Hi folks. My warning lights came on ages ago. The diagnostic said it was the cam sensor. After trying to find which one I gave up and replaced them all. Up until recently all has been fine. No the problem has raised it's ugly head again. I get Bank B and sensor 2 as being the one at fault, which I doubt as they have all been replaced. I suspect it's a wiring fault or a connection. I've tried to find out which is Bank B and sensor 2, but all I find is "It's on the drivers side, or passenger's side". Unfortunately these posters don't say if it's a left or right driver car. Can anyone shine a light for me please?
  3. Hi folks. I think everyone with an RX will know, that the keys a very poor in their design. Mine keeps breaking. I'm so fed up replacing broken ones, that I've started to look for OEM kits to go keyless. So far I've came across many different ones. Usually in the USA. What I would like to do is convert my 2004 RX300 to the same sort of system as my 2007 IS250. That is, it can be opened and started without using a key. Has anyone done this, and if so, can you recommend one?
  4. I know this post is years old, but to help anyone who is searching for a solution to the tailgate problem after having a dead battery. Forget the solutions using the switch at the glove box. Do however make sure it's in the correct position. What I have found with every battery change (or dead battery) the tailgate needs to be reset. To do this: Lock the car using the remote, wait about 30 seconds then unlock the car. Open the tailagte using the car button (not the fob) then close it after a few seconds. This has fixed the open/close issue everytime for me.
  5. Hi folks. I just got myself an IS250 SE-L. It doesn't have a multi media system in it so I thought about putting a hands free phone system in. The quote was about £500 ish. I then thought it might be a good idea to put a multi media system in. Can anyone tell me if this can be done as I assume all the wiring will be in place? and it possible a rough idea of how much. Many thanks
