  1. Thanks for the prompt reply, if you have a spare available i'm sure we can come to some arrangement . The car is 2003 03 1 owner 50000 miles last lexus stamp at 40000. I've got all the bits for the service so i'll do it this week. Thanks again Dave
  2. Hi, finally got my IS 200 Sport cross yesterday after the 6 day fiasco with the key problem ,now got 2 new keys that work. Great drive home 250 miles as I travelled a way to find one with a lower mileage. Now doing a 50000 service but 2 problems locking wheel key sheared ( I will buy a removal tool and fit std nuts ) no spare wheel !!! I.m sure it was there when I first inspected the car and the dealer says he doesn't have it so it looks like I will have to find a S/H one .What is it like ? is is an alloy ,a steel one or a space saver; the hole in the boot looks pretty big . one last point where is the paint code reference there is a note in the service record says 8N8 does this sound right for mettalic blue ? Thanks guys
  3. Hi, Dave from Morecambe Lancs new on here picked up my IS 200 sport cross yesterday; to go with my ' Sunday Car ' Mazda MX5 2 litre NC convertable well into rear wheel drive cars .The Mazda club is split into areas and it does make it easier for meets .
  4. Hi I'm new on here and I think its the labour hourly rate that jacks up the service costs;I've put a deposit on a 2003 IS200 sport cross which has had to go to the main dealer with the key issues the supplying dealer can't sort. While I was there I got them to check the history and advise as it is due 50000 mile service ;quote, due to the age we would advise the 60000 service £539 + timing belt and tensioner £379 .I do all my own servicing so its not a problem for me but I would advise you to find a small independent dealer who is ' hands on ' and takes a pride on running a well supervised workshop. Personal recommendation is a good guide. (2 days to go to get my Lex )
  5. Hi to you all,I have been a guest on here for a while gaining as much info as I can,and I must say this is a great site for info.I have just put a deposit on a IS 200 Sport cross blue 1 owner + lexus history. I will collect it later in the week when the dealer (not Lexus) has sorted a couple of issues No Manual ; and the only key is shot and in pieces. I have insisted on a new master and a new slave key at his expense , and we cannot open the hatchback due to the key problem , is there a latch inside the car ?. It is also due a 50,000 service but as I am an engineer I will do this myself no problem Never had a Lexus but I am well impressed I will be back with more questions when I have it in my garage
