So went for a test drive. Car drove brilliantly, engine was silent, no strange sounds that i could hear. Interior was spotless. On the whole a great example. Now the price. If im going to buy it would be outright as lexus finance was too high an apr. got it better elsewere. Basically the lowest they will go is 10k from the 10,990 list price. Ive walked away saying i want to go less than 10k. What do you think?

There doesnt seem to be many out there with the same spec and low mileage as the one in lexus liverpool. Any i do are similarily priced. Going for a test drive today anyway so well see what happens. Watch this space

With that in mind what price should i be looking for? Realistically?

Having got rid of the old 200 last year i'm after a new car. It lines up fine with the latch. When i pull the bonnet release you can see the release thing move. Ill try get some pics on asap. Comments are appreciated

Just installed a new slam panel, grille, and bonnet. However, the bonnet wont lock all the way down. It did before I replaced the bonnet so no idea what has happened. I crashed it last August. Not sure whether I may need a new bumper too as it doesnt line up with the headlamps. If you look at my previous posts you can see the photos. But can anyone help me get the bonnet to lock down?

Just fit the bonnet. But wait.......... It wont lock on the catch properly. What do i do?

When doing the center panel, if i take the bolts off that need to, will anything fall out like the aur scoop or radiator etc?

Just picked up a new bonnet, got a new grille and got a new slam panel. How do i install them? Any guides on here?

Found a matt black bonnet on ebay. Was just wondering what anyones thoughts are on putting it on a silver is200? Im after a new bonnet anyway. What sort of price would i be looking at to get it sprayed silver?

Anyone got a bonnet for the is200 on silver/platinum ice?

Right, my is200 has been in the drive for a couple of months now after having to downgrade due to a crash i had. Hopefully I could be getting it back on the road in a month or so. Ive just had to jump start it with another car as the battery died. As I rev it up, there is a funny sound from the engine as if there is some grit in it? Happens around 3k rpm. Its very strange and has got me worried. I started it up a few weeks ago and it was fine. What could this be? crap in the fuel system? Would a good run sort it out? I had to downgrade to a fiesta :( Good little car but i miss my lex soooo much :( Lol I still need to fix the damage too lol Any help would be great. Oh, and I've got a private plate for sale too. Its the one that on my profile pic. A8 DBU. Its on ebay :)

Right, I had a crash last Sunday and heres how it happened (in my opinion) I was driving up a main road within the speed limit. The car in front was a reasonable distance in front of me. The car in front pulls over as if to stop. I go to overtake the car. As I approach to overtake it pulls out to make a u-turn. I slam the brakes and hit the car in the drivers side rear wheel area. Damage to my car is front end body work damage. Bonnet is buckled, paint damage, reg plate broke, and the bar were the air intake starts is bent a bit. Damage to the other car was side body work damage and the rear driver side wheel had buckled in at the top. My car still drives fine as it did before the crash, just looks a mess. The other car had to be lifted. Now, I did not see any indication from the other car that it was going to pull out yet he was adamant he did. I have a witness to say he didn't. Also, surely he should have checked his mirror to make sure it was safe to pull out? And I remember him saying he was making a right turn into another road. But I thought a day or so after it happened that if you make a right turn, you don't pull over to the left to pull out, and he was past the right turn junction. We exchanged details, no injuries caused, and we went on our ways. I reported it to my insurance and its in their hands to decide who's at fault. Now I'm worried about losing my no claims of 2 years which I've worked hard for. Theres no point me claiming for repairs on my insurance as my excess is too high. If they decide split liability then I don't think it'll make a difference with my high excess. What are your opinions on the incident? Can my no claims be saved? If it can't then the Lex may have to go. How much do you think it would be to repair from my back pocket? I think someones parnter on here is a traffic cop as they gave me advice on someting else, so their help would be great. I've put some pics of the damage to my car up. Great news! Took the car to get fixed and result! The air con is now blowing 1 and 2 degrees! Bo selecta! Am well chuffed! How much wud kwik fit charge to fit a compressor and gas it?

Takin the compressor to be fitted tomorrow, so lets see what happens!

hmmm, havn't got any way of jacking it up. I'm taking it to a garage next wednesday. Needs a service too. Will get them to look at it. Was thinking of that WIM thingy. Its a bit of a trek to take it to them though. I'm in Liverpool you see. What is it they do and is it worth it?

So the past week or so, the lex has decided it wants to pull to the left, quite bad. Whats worse is, when I brake it then pulls to the right. Was on the motorway last night, doing a considerable speed, I brake, and it pulled violently to the right. What is causing this and how is it fixed?

It's second hand and been cut out of a scrapper so you can't expect it to be nice and shiny.... The two ports on the compressor should be perfectly clean and be of bright metal... flip the compressor upside down and look at the colour of the oil that runs out, it should be clear, or have a green tinge to it, NOT dark, black or aluminium coloured. if you shove your fingers in each port and turn the centre section of the clutch, one should suck and the other should blow, the compressor should turn very smoothly with no end play. in the clutch or flywheel... if you connect the clutch to 12v whilst off the car to check if the clutch engages, could save you some cursing later on.. Are you cleaning the aircon system out to remove the guts of the old compressor from the pipework before you refit the replacement compressor? Erm, how am i going to connect it to the car battery? I was just going to take it to this a/c guy and leave it with him? What is it with this clutch thing?

Got the ac pump yesterday. Is it supposed to smell damp? and its got loads of scummy crap on it. That right? The seller assured me it was working. Lets hope so!

Well my 200 is the smoothest and most comfy thing ive ever drove, and I want more of that. So the gs300 would be best? And it wouldn't be a new one. probably the same age as my 200, about 10 years old.
