The fob turned up yesterday i have tried for an hour to programme it useing the guide given, i get all the way to section 9 , the door locks and unlocks and beeps but when i press the lock on the remote in section 9 nothing happens? any ideas?

That remote fob looks spot on. It might be worth double-checking with Lexus that your alarm is original equipment; but, if it is - and if you can get one of those fobs, there's a set of programming instructions (I'll dig the link out for you later) which work just fine. Did the old man's '96 Mk3 a couple of weeks ago, it worked first time & he's as happy as larry now. Nice car. I like the bullet holes and blood.... There is a seller selling nice wheels specially for the larger jap cars,these were the other set i have my eye on. What do you think these would be like on the LS 19" Equinox Wheels i also found this site, you can get an idea of the style of wheels for the Ls400 by putting different styles on the model car. ls400 model for wheels

I have a 95 car, it has a Scorpion 5000 Cat-1 alarm fitted. I was told that they cut into the loom, use all black wires and that you need the fob, ECU and receiver to make it work. The fob is square and has 2 buttons, a black one for lock/unlock and a red one for PANIC , which just sets of the alarm from a distance to frighten off any near by attackers. The ECU is installed behind the lower glove box, maybe from that you can see what manufacturer it is. SO its best to replace the alarm then with remote locking facility? also the sellers on flea bay are selling basically useless junk, Thanks for info. Regards Mark

I bought a 1995 Mk3 LS400 and all i have is a normal key, the car has central locking but no remote fob. i want remote locking on a fob but i am unsure how to ahieve this. Under the bonnet is a alarm siren. I spoke to a mechanic friend and he told me all the LS400s mk 3s has an aftermarket alarm with the remote locking, fitted when they arrive in the uk ? I bought a blank key with the 3 button from fleabay but this is the wrong one. In fleabay usa they sell the standard remotes but can they be used. Can they be programmed? Basically what do i need to get the remote locking facility, can i replace the fob or do i have to get an new aftermarket alarm fitted with remote locking? 4 Button Remote Link Regards Mark

i bought a set of the clear ones from ebay uk for my 1995 mk3 LS400, i fitted them today and they transformed the car. Easy to fit and they arrived in 2 days i brought mine from the us site as i couldnt find any for my model on uk ebay how much did you pay for your if you dont mind me asking ive bought a few sets for the mk 2 and a few for the mk3, i paid approx £65 each for mk3 and approx £60 for the mk2

Looked at the wheel ant tyre bible and your right its going to be tuff to find a set with the same circumference i will need 235 35 20s then i only lose 4 mph in speedo error. This will be to hard on the ride and look to pimpy. There must be some wheels that look good on the car as the stock ones let the car down,ive brought the front up to date with Hid lights,clear indicators and Led sidelight bulbs but the side looks dated. Anyone got other wheels on thier cars ? if so any pics and details? Thanks all :shutit: Mark

Here's an update on the hid wiring. For those who bought a kit with three wires you need a kit with two wires on the lights. I just ordered some new lights only from ebay china for £15 with postage and swapped them with the current ballast. This then makes the light fully blue looking without the old little blub lighten up on on the hid kit. For the sie lights I have bought around five diffent types and have yet to find a proper looking one. I have just order a multi led side light style to see if that improves the all round light in the holder. Just fitted a set of HiD lights to my ls400 1995 series 111, bought the kit from fleabay, i bought the dearer kit which is the hi/lo kit with 100% error free and they were quite easy to fit and what a difference,amazing.

Thanks for the input guys. Seems to be a lot of work to find the right set of wheels for the LS400? Theres a fine line with these cars between cool and stupid looking. Any more ideas would be welcome as im still doing my homework. Seems the Americans go all the way with their wheels.

I have changed to new clear indicators, led sidelights, HiD high and low beam Headlights and the front looks like a new car.I am now trawlng the net to buy a set of wheels to bring the side view up to date, the trouble is i dont know the best size to get,i am looking at a set of.... 2 X 235/40/18 for the front with 2 X 265/35/18 rear all Lexus fit wheels My problem is i dont want lots of space between the top of the tyre to the arches, or should i go for 19s with 2 X 235/35/19 front 2 X 265/30/19 rear do i need to drop the car which i dont want to do? any help would be fab.
