  1. thought so - ironic thing is that I off to France in it in 2 week and need to replace the lights for mot then put on deflectors to drive on rights etc.. Do they come cheaper if I upgraded to loc gold etc? hay-ho
  2. It's worth keeping this thread Owen for any new person who may have the question - so we'll keep it! :) Mine has just failed MOT as registered in Germany and lights point the wrong way :duh: is this case of new units or can I adjust the existing units somehow.
  3. Hi - does anyone know if the headlights can be adjusted to point to the left intead of to the right which mine do and has just failed MOT due to this. It ws imported from Germany, is right hand drive and everything else appears standard. Do I have to buy two new headlight units and if so any idea how much please. thanks John :duh:
  4. Hi - has anyone had experience of putting rack on top of IS200sport to take 4 (max) cycles - I got this opportunity in august to take all to France for hols. If so, do Lexus do one and can I get similar from elsewhere? Have had IS for three months now and am amazed that there isn't a squeek or rattle from anywhere - only improvement I identified so far is that a small warning would be good just before the rev limiter cut in - the rev counter area is small and difficult to watch when concentrating on the road. anyway.............thanks for help in advance john s
  5. Thanks - are they all made in Japan and sent across europe then imported into UK from eurpoean destinations?' ← no...only imported ones was a legistration which gave the consumer the right to order a rhd car from european dealers at cheaper than the uk list prices, lots brought them in europe then brought them here, they effectively are imported cars a uk car is built in japan and comes directly to the uk ← thanks - I understand now.
  6. All UK spec models are made in Japan and imported directly into the UK. ← ........... so an import is one that wasn't intended for the UK market originally, but made its way via another country (say Malta) that was the original intended destination (clear??)
  7. Thanks - are they all made in Japan and sent across europe then imported into UK from eurpoean destinations?'
  8. Advice appreciated with this dilemma please. I put deposit on IS200 Sport and had Dekra carry out a check on it - couple of minor faults that can be dealt with but the HPI check revealed that it has been imported. The log book isn't available yet and wont buy without - but till I see that I won't know its origin (does the log book actually show this?) I not sure if I bothered if it is imported........should I be? does it matter from where it is imported? It is registered in May 2002 and built in 2001 and previously had a private plate(which may answer why it is on a Y plate). I got to soon hand over £10k but car is great - (I wondered why it had reverse distant alerts when I test drove it - assume this is import extra, but it didn't click) Thanks John
  9. Thanks - a mine of info and just what I need. Think will go for IS200SE and tweak when funds permit as I need auto and the sport (prefered) doesn't come with that option. Next thing is to find one. Don't like idea of using main dealer for cost reasons - any suggestions on best place to look. The Great Trade Centre.co.uk have a few higher mileage as do Carland but other thoughts appreciated. Don't have a problem buying private or with distance either. John S
  10. I am looking at buying an IS200 but can't find a web site that summarises the differences that the IS200 spec comes with. eg What is difference between IS200 /sport / SE. I need (but dont want) an auto - doing 60 mile e/w on M25 Jcn 6 - Jcn 15 every day so what options come with auto. What is bhp of each and speed ratings........ all straight forward stuff. (btw - If a manual is umph better than auto - then so be it the choice). Also - anyone want to swap my Mondao G x (135k) for IS200 - just a thought...... (my budget - approx £12k). Any help much appreciated John S
