  1. as far as im aware power loss through transmission losses aren't really a % more a figure eg 50hp as other wise a car with 100 fwhp would lose 15 hp ie 85whp but drop a 1000fwhp engine in and it would loose 150hp even though the transmission is the same?

as for the dynapack dynamometer i think they're really good my only critisism is that they dont allow turbo cars to get full boost. at billing i only got a peak of 0.98bar boost when on the road i get 1.1 bar at the same rpm

  2. sorry i couldnt make it guys sounds like another awsome night. i was still feeling the after effects of saturday nights partying so all i wanted to do was get home left elvington at 715 arived in notts at 830ish so as you can tell i took my time :winky: .

loz me an you down da pod bro an we see who da daddy is?...... only kidding sounds like you too have a pocket rocket (if a little bigger).by the way i have a large box at home marked "toyota genuine parts" guess whats in it?

i will have to make anoyher meet soon keep me posted

  3. looking good mat wont be long now and then you be out cruising

by the way it was me waving to you as i left on monday realised i was in the s :tsktsk: ra (read sierra, sorry) and not the corolla.

good to talk to you. you certainly are brave tackling a job like that but it'll be well worth it

thanks for organizing it is430 too, never got to have a good look but it sounded awsome

  4. my rolla was written off 2 yrs ago when some careless foreign hgv driving :tsktsk: pulled of the kerb where he was parked and int the side of my car whilst i was stopped at the traffic lights.

the actual dammage looked bad but inspection revealed no structural damage just 1/4 panel and door. after making enquiries i was able to by it back and got £1000 pay out too.

having worked in the body repair trade i bought new panels and rebuilt the car. all that was needed to put it back on the road was an RAC engineer inspection (£185) and an MOT and i kept the original reg#. i think it is recorded as a cat d write off and i believe that this is the least severe grading

  5. in december last year(2002) i contacted hi spec for a conversion for my ae-92 i was told i would either have to take my car down for measuring or supply them with a hub and wheel dimensions.

i supplied a hub and dimensions of the wheels and was told there was a 3-4 week lead time. cool i thought just about the right time engine conversion should be complete.

after repeated phone calls the kit finaly arrived in.............................mid febuary!

not to worry its here now. tried to fit them did'nt appear to fit 10mm gap between caliper and mounting brkt another call and i was told that it was ok for me to "shim" the gap i made up some spacers fitted everything lowerd the car to the ground went to reverce off the drive loud scraping and vibration was observed.

car on stands again and it was dicovered that the disc was catching the bottom ball joint. by this time hispec was shut so i carfully dressed some material off the ball joint. seemed to cure the problem....until i did a bit of faster cornering when the same happend again.

another call to hispec they said they were sorry and would send me some revised disc bells and mounting brkts. after repeated calls to them i am still waiting (july03). i ask if they were going to replace the discs also as they had been scoured by the ball joint they said that it was my fault as i had driven the car and they were only prpared skim them :ban-em:

  6. just want to say hi to everyone that stopped by to say hi (sorry for any burst eardrums from the anti lag :winky: ) sorry i couldn't pop over to your stand and say hi (busy explaining exactly how to get a 300bhp engine into a corolla  )

nice one zee at least you got an award the judges never came round half the cars when i was there (anti-lag next time seems to draw a crowd)well done

    Bring on JAE

  7. it depends what you want to do. i'm using the m4 pro. this will run 8 cylinder engines.you may still have to use the stock ecu to run certain things like intrument cluster etc (these are integrated into the ecu on most cars now) but motec is the best m4 is about half the price of the m800. a certain simon norris of norris designs fame uses the m4 in pro form in his 771bhp evo7 so it cant be bad
