  1. hi guys i have been busy cleaning now getting itchy feet for mods such as springs wheels kit ect looked out wheels but sold out in size i like so maybe have to save some more for 18" set not sure but thinking of saving for coilovers rather than lowering springs also came across this wide body kit from mad motors its about £800 pounds thought you might like a look does any one know how much it would cost to fit such a kit and where if near me here in aberdeenshire i think this kit and cruzie dtm deep dish alloys on coilovers would make good feature car i think pic of wheels and bodykit here give you some idea what i am aming for hope you like wheels are from dp motorsports in scotland about £650 set these are aprox prices

  3. hi guys hope you can help with this i want paint some plastic covers and couple metal parts some near exuast in chrome or silver any idea to what product to use also how to prep ready the engine bay looks tired and dirty i was thinking of useing gunk engine cleaner first maybe renew couple bolts some parts are very rusty looking thinking wire brushing them any advice will be good as only use to clean paint on last car (some parts may need to be painted on car as i no mechanic )

    thanks gary

For painting plastic's you will need to clean them well with a good degreaser and the rub them down with 3M scratchpad, 3M also do a plastic primer/ adhesion promoter in aerosol, a light coat with this and let it dry then aresol paint whatever colour you want. If you are only painting plastics Black again put the paint staight over the plastic primer or if you are changing to a lighter colour a base primer will probably be needed also, as for bolt's/nuts and other removable brackets, best bet is to remove, rub down with wire brush then some emery then a couple of good coats of etch primer then a few coats of colour.

Both Etch Primer and Plastic Primer come in aerosol, the plastic primer is clear.

Hope that this helps, i work in a bodyshop and this is what we do, all above products can be got at any decent motorfactors, an possibly Halfords.

thanks jollyrodger for this info do you think standard paint will stand the heat near exhaust

  7. Nice looking motor & nice wheels you've picked out. but............

I agreee with lexynik, go for 18's if you can get them that size & fittment.

I have (claimed) 40mm lowering springs off ebay, they fit well, no problems with them and i have 18's with 225/45 tyres (this will help fill the arch space up more) no rubbing prob's & no arch rolling done

hi deckie77 nice to hear from you thanks for comments the car in pic has not been cleaned so from distance will look good but up close lets just say last owner serviced car as full history did not look after it stonechip bad bonnet front bumper also football kicked against back passanger door that left a mark fag burn passanger front seat and i dont even smoke but with help from loc i will give bit tlc i hope nice motor yourself mate i will post pics when have wheels thanks guys

  8. if you do get 18's with a et35 offset you will need to run 215's 225's will catch the outer rear arch when lowered 40mm

hi ormi nice to here from you lexynik and others think 18" way to go but i looked at 17" because with 18" i would feel i had to watch every bump dont want kerb that style alloy 17" dont feel i have to also correct me if incorrect smoother ride on standard size rim and tyre plus my insurance say standard size with lock nuts no extra cost

  9. thanks guys nik picked 17" for insurance they say same size with lock nuts no extra charge thanks for advice i was always going to change wheels as standard look tired garyskisplym nice to hear from you sorry mate not sure how to put up but wheels are 17" only with or without tyres if u go on eBay search deep dish lexus is200 wheels you should get it its called dp motorsports they are in ayershire i think p+p was free depending on what you buy he as thousands (well a lot) of diffrent alloys for most models these deep dish are rare so his ad says happy hunting let me know how you get on as i not sure about black as siver may get discount for couple sets ?? ok guys time for cleaning the sun as apeared its got be done nik thanks again for advice slow down take my time now i got car i stuck with it for three years so plenty time to learn about her wheels is a thing i think should come first if not changeing size reliablity is a must not a option thats what i think mate any way hope theys ameet sometime in summer maybe put faces to names plus see some nice cars have some good luck maybe see you soon u can catch me on xbox360 under gunnie garr give me a shout on for little bit most days :-)
